Chapter 62 - REMINISCING

"We have talked last night." Xiao Jun replied without lifted his eyes from the report in his hand.

"Oh, really?" Qianru leaned back and looked at her husband. "What are you talking about?"

"Not much…"

She hummed awkwardly as she felt Xiao Jun didn't wish to talk about this matter further. "I am surprised Tianyao still remember how to produce that sound…" She murmured.

After another moment of silence and Xiao Jun still didn't give any respond, she gave up trying to engage a conversation with him and played with the ring on her fingers mindlessly when Xiao Jun pulled her closer and laid her head on his shoulder.

"I am surprised too." Xiao Jun rested his head on top of Qianru's. "How old we are at that time?"

"Mmm…" Qianru tried to remember. "I was ten and Tianyao was eight while you are thirteen at that time, right?"

"You fell into the pond at that time." Xiao Jun chuckled when a soaked little girl image flashed in his memory.

"Thanks to you." Qianru sulked.

His chuckled turned into laughed as the atmosphere inside the carriage became warm while they were reminiscing their childhood.

The sun felt like it was above their head as summer came and the weather was so hot when Xiao Jun insisted to see how far Xiao Tianyao had learnt martial arts.

At that time, Xiao Tianyao was trained under the Leader of Black Sword Clan, Elder Dam, supervision and Xiao Jun was eager to see how his progress because the little boy had just returned from the northern barrack.

That day was also the day when Xiao Jun invited her to enter the palace, at the beginning Xiao Jun told her that he would teach her calligraphy, but as it turned out he dragged the little girl to the backyard.

The little Qianru knew immediately what he was up to and tried to escape, but of course she couldn't.

Somehow, Xiao Jun fond of Qianru as the spectator when he was sparring with his Xiao Tianyao, her scared expression was cute in his eyes whenever both of them started to fight.

But, for Qianru, she felt like she was being bullied by the prince.

"I will sit here." Qianru sat on the big rock at the side of the pond sulkily. Her bright blue dress was slightly dirty when the edge of it swept the soil.

The little girl rested her chin on her knees while playing with the wild grass around her.

Everything went well and the two boys engrossed with their fighting skill and swordsmanship technique while Qianru was sitting like an obedient little girl bathing with the sunlight.

She felt slightly dizzy and wanted to find another place to wait for them, she didn't know why Xiao Jun always insisted for having her as spectator, because all she did was sit around and did nothing.

However, when she was about to leave, Xiao Jun shouted at her. "Qianru move!!!"

In the blink of eyes, Xiao Jun dashed toward her and pushed her harshly. In the next second, Qianru had fallen into the pond before she realized it.
