Chapter 1 - Lyn

Whenever she looked up at the sky, Lyn automatically searched for the moon, almost as though there's a switch inside her that automatically goes on. For her to find it immediately, it has to carry on shining brighter, brighter than anything this world has ever seen before.

In one of the fondest memories of her mother, the girl could recall her answer. ' I know if it is you, Lyn, you'll be able to do it. You are my daughter after all'.

What started as pure admiration, slowly changed. As a princess, they always taught her to maintain her appearance and manners. Since she's part of an elite family that is something she understood all too well, yet she expressed no interest in the lessons in the lessons she took. There were many many lessons, as a princess, there was a lot she had to learn and the second she could stand on her own two feet, she would finally be free.

Countless people came over and tutored her, the best of the best went over every day. But nothing changed, Lyn was not attached to any of it.

It seemed so so endless for her. It was all so endless. She perfected everything that they taught at her, yet no matter how well she did. Her mother never once looked her way. And father? Although there were some small moments, he would always be busy and away on business. Ah, what a solidarity life that was, though she often found comfort in the visits from her cousins, those two could not always be around. As someone of her rank, she could not associate herself with any regular individuals - well at least that's how it was supposed to be.

.....

Year 4014 - Mist Kingdom Castle (West Courtyard)

Lyn made her way across the courtyard quietly, it was early morning, and people had yet to wake up. Let her introduce herself first; her name is Lyn, yes she cannot disclose her surname. As stupid as that rule is, her family belongs to the top elite. But she can tell people this; she is- the second daughter and third heir to her household. A household residing in the Mist Kingdom castle, yes she is the current Queen and King's daughter. The Mist Kingdom is her home, and she has not seen what's beyond these castle walls. Because of her frail health, and strange circumstances behind her birth. They cast her aside.

Lyn didn't mind it all too much, she understood with her present state. It would be far too much for her to ask for anything more. Her parents may not pay too much attention to her. But she isn't entirely alone, they still assigned her an aide, and she has her own guards. This morning however neither her aide nor guard squad was around. She sighed deeply, Pupillam - the name of her aide, will scold her severely and the head of her guards General Adrien. Pupillam belongs to the excellent weaponry household 'Consiliaro ' and the general belonged to the prestigious Bennet household.

In the eyes of outsiders, Lyn is sheltered, love and protect. But Lyn knew the truth, "Is this mark that scary?" she murmured to herself, as she rolled up her sleeves to reveal the mark in her hand. For Lyn, it was a mere birthmark. However for other people, this mark held some special significance, "I don't understand."

No matter how many books she read, or ancient scriptures she found. Lyn couldn't find anything special about this mark. But Lyn understood; this was the reason her parents and siblings avoided her. Does she want to find an answer? Will the relationship she has with them suddenly change? Lyn shook her head, no use thinking about this now. While her father forbade weapons, Lyn could easily sneak into the royal weapon treasury or ask Pupillam for some. She carried a short blade in her hands for practice. A long blade would get her caught in no time, so Lyn made do with this small dagger.

After walking around for a while, Lyn found a quiet spot. Red and yellow leaves scattered on the ground due to the large tree in the center. A sea of red and yellow representing the autumn weather. She looked up and appreciated the beauty of the tree. How mysterious, when it's spring - it's cherry blossoms, but when it's Autumn, it becomes a different type of flower.

A few minutes passed, and Lyn started to practice. For somebody who has not trained with a blade before, her movements were swift, and she even held a hint of grace despite the powerful moves.

Though she just said she wouldn't think about it, Lyn felt very puzzled. They assigned her a beautiful place in the palace, good protection and even a suitable marriage partner - the wind Kingdom's King. The main reason for the latter was due to this mark in her hand, but even then it doesn't change the fact that Allen is someone of the highest status. Such strange parents, giving such good things towards a daughter they supposedly don't need.

Her thoughts broke off when she heard laughter. Lyn raised her blade and looked around with caution, did she just imagine that? Lyn continued with her practice and murmured, "Stupid Allen," when she heard the laughter again, "Hahaha, Ha," This time around Lyn knew she didn't hear things.

She carefully followed the trace of the voice and then it came to her. Lyn shot a look at the large tree which she had been training under because it was Autumn, the usual pink blossoms replaced by red and yellow. Earlier when she looked, she was too busy appreciating the beauty. But now, Lyn could make out a figure there.

A lone man sat in one of the highest branches of the tree, a cup of sake in his hands and a bottle beside him. Lyn frowned, not recognizing the man's garments, "Who are you?"

The man laughed, "You only just noticed me, Princess?" His tone as he called her princess contained mockery.

Lyn suddenly felt irritated, while her parents may neglect her. It does not change her status in this kingdom, this was the first time somebody dares to treat her with such disrespect, "Outsiders cant enter here," Lyn told him, ignoring his previous words. From his strange garments and rude behavior, Lyn deduced he was a man from the sound kingdom. She heard from the General that the ban from the sound kingdom was lifted; and how a group will arrive within this week. She didn't expect to see one so soon.

The man sipped on his sake, "But I wanted to meet with you, Princess Lyn."

"..Who are you? State your name first."

"Me? Let's see…" the man drawled on his words, he placed the cup of sake down, and he leaped down. It happened all too quickly for her; one moment he was drinking sake on the top of the tree. In a flash, his face was inches away from hers and - the next he was kissing her.
