Carter's POV:
Her eyes are glossed over, she's not talking, she isnt letting anyone near her-"
"She broke my wrist!" A guys voice interrupted.
I couldnt see, or move, but I could hear everything going on around me. It was Kathy talking to a few people, I could recognize Madelyn's voice and Liam's but that was it.
"She broke Ryder's wrist." Kathy added.
"Why didn't you tell us she could copy powers!" Liam accused someone. Anger laced his voice like he was ready to kill someone.
"We can't play the blame game, she didn't tell us either, remember?" Madelyn snapped.
"Right..." Liam said blankly.
"Where is she now?" Kathy asked.
"She's sitting by the woods, Hannah is watching her now. I gave her my radio," an unfamiliar female voice responded.
"Why don't we just show her that he's alive and in a coma," a unfamiliar guys voice asked.
"I already tried," Madelyn explained.
"Its been two hours, are we sure we're even safe?" Liam asked.
"I hate to say it but I'm honestly scared, scared of one of my closest friends," Kathy admitted.
"Me too," Madelyn added.
"Well," Liam said softly, "There's really only one person who can stop her at this point."
Everything fell silent, I couldn't hear anymore, it was like I fell asleep.
I opened my eyes to an empty room. I was on a sectional couch, covered in a blanket. There was a radio that was emitting a static sound on the end table behind my head. I sat up and swung my legs so I was sitting on the couch instead of laying down. There were voices coming from the next room over so I slowly stood up and started walking over to the room.
Just then, a frantic voice came over the radio and I turned to look at it. It was Kathy, "Guys, code red. Its Carla. She copied my powers, she isn't herself."
"The code for that is Code Blue Kathy, red is for fire." Liam's voice came from the other room and also came from the radio.
A warm orange color started shining through the windows in the other room. I walked over and looked at Liam and Madelyn who were sitting at a table.
Liam looked out the window and spoke into his radio, "Code red, fire started behind the cabin. Suspected starter is Carla, do not engage. I repeat, do not engage."
"What's wrong with Carla?"
I seemed to spook them because they both jumped at the sound of my voice.
Liam ran out the sliding glass door that led to the back yard.
"Are you feeling better?" Kathy asked as she maneuvered herself to be between me and the back door.
"What's wrong with Carla? What's going on?" I frustratedly asked.
"She is not handling your death very well," Kathy admitted.
"I'm obviously not dead, let me see her, maybe she'll stop," I insisted, I tried to take a step towards the door but Kathy moved so I couldn't. A tall, blonde haired guy walked past holding a gun.
"What are you going to do with that Ryder? She's bulletproof," Kathy commented at the blonde guy. He threw the gun onto the table and lightly set his head down on the kitchen counter.
"I don't know how to fight her," He muffledly groaned into the counter.
"We don't either that's why we're all freaking out," Kathy commented.
Madelyn sprinted past and out the back door. While the door was open I saw a lot of fire.
"Is Will out there fighting?" I worriedly asked. I was scared for my little brother.
"Nope," Kathy sighed, "Carla can copy powers."
My mouth hit the floor. Now I realized why everyone was so stressed. I tried to push past her again but she just shoved me back to where I was standing. I was too weak to fight back.
"Carter you need to stop and listen." Kathy took a deep breath, "She wasn't herself, her eyes were clouded over. Her body is moving but nobody's home inside."
"I felt the same way when I thought she died."
"No, you argued with us when we tried to pull you away from her. Liam had to hold you down to keep you from going on a rampage on the boat when she died, hes trying to do the same to Carla. She broke Ryder's wrist in her anger."
"I threw Nathan into the ocean," I loudly argued, every time I spoke my voice got louder.
"And she is lighting the whole forest on fire," Kathy yelled, "Don't you see? You were sad when she died and reacted like a sad person. Carla has been in full physco mode since you died."
"She won't hurt anyone," I mumbled.
The blonde guy lifted his arm to show a wrist with a cast over it, "Except she is."
"Let me through," I insisted.
Kathy grabbed my wrist and led me out the front door, we wrapped around the cabin, and stopped at the back corner. We crouched down so she wouldn't see us. The dark night was lit up like daylight from the raging fires in the forest behind the cabin.
Liam came flying over the top of the cabin and into the base of a tree behind us. We jerked our heads to look at him.
"Ugh, crap," Liam muttered as he popped his shoulder back into place and started patting flames off of himself.
"What happened?" I asked.
"Carla has super strength now, accompanied by Kathy's powers and Will's." Liam angrily answered as he took his flaming jacket off and threw it on the ground.
"Did she fire launch you?" Kathy asked as she picked up his jacket and dusted the dirt off.
"Yeah, yeah she did. I don't think she can even hear me honestly." Liam answered as he walked past us, "She's not reacting to anything I'm saying."
"See! She needs to see I'm alive," I insisted.
"Just go into the house, don't come out because she's not being responsive. She might accidentally hurt you. Send Nathan out," Liam commented.
Nathan didn't come with us when we escaped.
"How did Nathan get here?" I asked.
"It was while you were in a coma, Axel snuck him out," Kathy responded, "Now go."
"This isn't fair, she might accidentally kill someone if you don't let her see me," I argued.
"Carter trust me, you need to stay away from her right now, if she gets superspeed then we're never going to wake her from this rampage," Kathy insisted.
I shook my head, and turned my head to Carla who was first fighting Madelyn. This wasn't Carla. Carla wouldn't fight her friends. I took a step towards her and then felt a sharp pain in the back of my head. My vision started to darken and then faded out.
