Irritated, Kate puffed out her cheeks, "Why can't I be in love with him? Do you not know the old saying? They say it only takes 3 seconds to fall in love with someone"
She sure is very immature. Love with someone you barely know? That only happens in movies. Moreover, love doesn't even exist anymore in this generation. It's more or less an infatuation which will fade away before she'll even realize it.
Ivy was annoyed with the Ian drama already, she refused to take it any longer, "Okay, I see you're wiser, but what if he has an ugly laugh? What if he has ugly teeth?"
"I know right! That's probably the reason why he always keeps a poker face", Kim Hana said faintly with disappointment.
In an instant, like a deflated balloon, Kate's face drooped, "He does? I can't be in love with that! No way!"
Ivy took a look at her and said with a muffled laugh, "See? Turns out love can also fade away in 3 seconds"
Kim Hana smiled lightly and asked, "Ivy, did you ever fall in love?"
The question left Kate shook, as she looked back at Ivy and saw a pause in her expression. Kate thought that Ivy never talks about him with anyone other than Kate, will she be comfortable around Kim Hana?
Shoot! Should I change the subject?
Just when Kate was opening her mouth to change the subject, Ivy, nodded her head with a jovial smile, and said, "Well generally when I get bored, I start to think that I'm in love with who ever I talk to for more than 3 consecutive days."
Having said that, she continued to talk, "But in all honesty, I really did fall in love once."
"You did?", a voice from behind said, it sounded mesmerizing to Kate's ears. Alex continued with his arms wrapping around Kate's shoulder sending chills down her spine, "How did I never know about it?"
"Because you're too oblivious!", Kate exclaimed. With a heart racing that fast, she feared that he might hear it too.
Looking at her face turn crimson red, Alex leaned on closer to her, "Your face.. it turned so red"
"What?", Kate has never felt this embarrassing before, covering her face with both her hands, she turned around, "It's so hot in here! Is the AC even working? I don't like summer anymore, it's so annoying!"
You can imagine how embarrassing it might feel when your face is burning, heart is pumping, and head is spinning. All the INGs together right in front of your best friend who you have a crush on!
What would he think of her now? Will he find out about her feelings? And if he does, will he push her away? So many thoughts, she couldn't think straight.
"Hey, you don't have to hide your face", his gentle soothing voice reassuring her, "You look prettier when you blush"
A sudden pause in the moment and an eye contact that never felt more surreal. They stayed there for moments on which felt like an eternity.
Not even in a million years she could've ever thought that just these simple words would be enough for her to forget about all her worries in the world.
That moment was enough for Ivy to envy the love they shared. She wanted to feel a love like that with someone, let that love be returned or not, it didn't strike her mind even for once.
It must be so nice to fall for someone so deeply, stick up to their little actions to find meaning and cry like a ball bag when it's not returned like it was expected.
Is that what I'm looking for? Will that be enough? No, I'm questioning it already, how can that possibly be enough!
Kim Hana glared over at Ivy, surprisingly, she seemed to be rooted to the ground. What was it? Envy? Ivy is envious of Kate's puppy love?
"Was it like that?"
"Huh?", Hana sure have caught her off guard this time.
But Kim Hana wasn't satisfied; she wanted to know more. She wanted to know if Ivy had ever experienced something like this before. She was indulging in her excitement and continued, "They look so into each other. Did you ever feel like that before?"
"Hey, you two! It's not.. what it looks like", Alex declared with his hand scratching the behind of his neck.
"Yeah, clearly!", Ivy said sarcastically. Turning her face toward Kim Hana, she answered with a light smile, "I think everyone have their own meaning of love."
"Well, we've still got time until the orientation starts, I'm all up for the details. You can't excuse your way out of this"
Seeing her exhibiting such a desirable expression, Ivy couldn't help but laugh, "Well, okay then. I'll tell you about him"
Kate was still unsure of whether she was crossing a line but after Ivy's response, she was relieved.
As Ivy started to tell about the first time she felt loved, Kate could feel the wall around Ivy slowly drop down. She was happy to see her comfortable, but was it okay to let her guard down so easily?
Telling about her past was no big deal, but will she let her guard down when it comes to other things too?
After hearing the entire thing from her, Kim Hana no longer had the distant feeling that she had earlier.
