Cicil didn't thought that she would get fired for not giving Chase Wellington a vip room. But it wasn't even in her knowlegde because normal receptionists didn't have the permission to hold the keys. They had special staffs for that.
"Get out of here before I call the security!" He shouted again as tears ran down wetting her cheeks.
"The one who should be fired is you, Mr Smith." A voice said snapping both the manager's and Cicil's attention at the door. They saw a tall man wearing a tux stood there while his dark, calculating eyes fell on them. It was Chase but his whole body gave of a dominating demeanor that both Cicil and the manager froze in their places.
Did Mr Smith hear right? He knew that Mr Wellington was about to come now and he planned to show off his hard work and for this filthy receptionist, he had other plans for her.
But what was it? Had Mr Smith's auditory system gotten a problem? Mr Wellington said he should be fired where he should praise him for his hard work. He must be jesting.
"Err... Mr Wellington?" The manager was confused as Chase slowly came near and stood between the manager and Cicil, towering over both of them with his intimidating aura.
Cicil had shrunken a little and she lowered her head as she felt the situation was making her suffocated. It must be the punishment for calling him a jerk.
"You heard me Mr Smith." Chase said as a smirk appeared on his face.
"B—but she gave you a normal room..."
"That's because I never asked her for a Vip room because I wanted to see how are your staffs were working."
"But she doesn't even know who you are..."
"Not knowing someone doesn't make her an offender. But she had never treated the customers poorly, not to mention, she had called them and asked them if they needed lunch or anything. She kept following up them."
Cicil's eyes bulged out her sockets when Chase said those. Was he siding with her? But didn't she call him a jerk?
"Besides, who has the keys of the vip rooms?" Chase asked and Mr Smith stiffened.
It was a manager's duty to hold those keys and regularly clean the vip rooms. It was Mr Smith's duty he had to receive the vip customers but Mr Smith was slacking off when Chese came and Chase never told them that he was coming.
"S—sir, I... I... It was a mistake from my part." Mr Smith said, "I had to..."
Mr Smith didn't know how his plan of getting promotion backfired him. He was waiting for his staffs to make some mistake and he would add spice to the report before sending it to Mr Chase Wellington. He knew Chase Wellington liked whoever worked their bones for him and if he showed off his boss then Mr Smith would have acquired the promotion he had been seeking. But he forgot that it was his duty to go receive his vip customers or guests.
Chase wanted to check how the staffs were working and when he saw the manager who should be buried into work was slacking off, he decided to give them a visit. He had expected all of the staffs to be like Mr Smith but when he saw everyone in the hotel worked sincerely apart from Mr Smith, he knew who was the black sheep.
Mr Smith had been sending him quite a lot of reports and those reports only had complaints of his staffs. He had informed Chase that he had fired them already but there was something fishy so he had sent his personal assistant and one of his trusted man here to look out.
"I see, so it was a simple mistake?" He asked.
Mr Smith nodded frantically and Chase gave him a really gentle smile. The smile which a devil gives before devouring souls.
Chase dialled a number and instantly, a tall, light brown skinned girl came. She was the next desk receptionist of Cicil. Gia Benedict.
Cicil blinked and saw Gia's lazy eyes were the same as before but as their eyes met, Gia winked at her.
Cicil was dumbfounded. What was happening?
"Gia, hand me the files on Mr Smith's great deeds." Chase said as Gia instantly gave him two files and Chase threw the files on Mr Smith's desk.
Both Cicil and Mr Smith could not register as why did a normal receptionist had some confidential files.
"I knew something was off when one by one my receptionists and my staffs were leaving. I paid them a reasonable wage but what happened to them, leaving not long after joining." Chase said, "So, I sent my personal assistant to join here as a normal receptionist and investigate in secret."
Chotto Matte! Gia was the PA of Chase!
A gap formed on Cicil's mouth, parting her face. Her eyes drifted between Chase and Gia while her face portrayed how her brain couldn't register anything.
Gia said, "Sir, Mr Smith apparantly fired them and when they begged, he said he would let them stay if they satisfy our vip customers by staying one night."
Cicil's eyes now glued on Gia with wary gazes. Both of them looked like they were devil incarnations while Chase was the boss, Gia was his minion, right hand man--or woman. She could swear she saw devil horns and tails on them.
She could never thought that the girl beside her was actually Chase's personal assistant. Her goofy attitude and sleep driven eyes made Cicil felt like she was only a normal receptionist like her. But now, Gia looked like a sly fox beside her master with an intent of crushing down Mr Smith. A faint smirk played on her face which told that she was enjoying the destruction of Mr Smith.
Cicil's eyes moved toward Chase and her breath hitched. He was no less than Gia. He looked like he was going to kill Mr Smith and then make him alive to kill him again. And rinse and repeat. Menacing aura sipping out of both of them and as if their eyes glinted evilly.
She screamed in her mind. Who were they?! They were so scary!
"That's outrageous!" Mr Smith said, "I had never done anything like that."
Chase nodded and ordered, "Gia, call Rogers and tell him to get the head staff of the monitoring department."
Gia left the room and went to fetch them while Mr Smith's face paled. They were the main security staffs who always sat behind monitors and watched if something was wrong. Although Mr Smith had paid them to cut his footages so he was confident that Chase Wellington would not find anything.
It took hardly a few minutes they all came.
Gia entered behind her two men came. One with a suit who had an ear phone attached to his left ear and the other one had a blue cap and the Star Hotel's security attire. Cicil recognised the man who was wearing a suit. It was the same bodyguard she met on the street. So, he was Rogers.
And judging by the security costume and two stars on his arms, the other man was the head of the monitoring department.
Mr Smith smiled internally because he had paid him well and he wasn't going to spill anything.
"Roy, you want to say something?" Chase asked and with a goofy smile the security man said, "What can I say extra, sir? I have already sent all the footages the day he bribed me, ain't I?"
The ground beneath Mr Smith evaporated immediately and Cicil could feel all of the minions of Chase were as evil as he was. Because all of their eyes glinted as if devils had possessed them.
Wait! Was she surrounded by devils?!
