Chapter 6 - Chapter 6

"You—I paid you that much yet you betrayed me!" Mr Smith growled as every plans he had made backfired him. Veins popped out on his head as his anger rose.

"So, now do you accept that you are guilty?" Chase smiled, a bit pleased that his plan worked otherwise he had to torture the poor man to spill the beans and he didn't like to waste his time.

Roy said mocking Mr Smith, "Oops, have I forgotten to tell that I was assigned directly under the department by Mr Chase Wellington?"

Mr Smith and Cicil both looked puzzled.

"Roy is not the head staff of the monitoring department. He is my driver." Chase said as Roy bowed his head in a dramatic way.

Cicil blinked. Nani!

"It was Mr Thompson, the one who is acting as the second hand in charge." Chase said, "He had mailed me a few weeks ago that you were doing some deeds here so, I sent Roy to check."

Chase shook his head and said in a mocking way, "Alas! Mr Smith, you were getting so blinded by your powers you forgot the whole Star security is directly under me."

He praised Mr Smith, "But I have to tell, your manipulating powers were great that the victims didn't want to tell Roger anything," he said in a distaste voice, "Until I bribed them to give jobs in my new project."

Roy chuckled, "Mr Wellington now has to take responsibility of them. Sounds nice."

Chase sent daggers at him.

"But who is behind you to give you that much power?" Chase narrowed his eyes at him as Mr Smith froze.

Chase knew there must be someone who helped him as shutting the mouths of the victims need money. Mr Smith might get a handsome salary but it wasn't enough to shut his victims. He tried to find if he had any videos to blackmail them but there wasn't any.

When Mr Smith didn't say anything Chase ordered, "Rogers, get Mr Smith out of here and take the documents along with you. File a strong case against him. I want him to suffer because I had to invest for another hotel to bribe the witnesses." He hissed. Cicil could see how much suffering was about to come in Mr Smith's way as Chase had to use his money. From all the reports she read, Chase wasn't a fan of doing unnecessary expenditure. His hands were tight.

"Of course, sir." Rogers said with a gentle smile and Cicil thought he was the only man amongst them who seemed genuine.

"Let's go Mr Smith," Roger cracked his knuckles and even though the genuine smile played on his lips, a menacing aura sipped out of him. "I am not a very patient man, after all. Especially with my knuckles itching now."

There was a moment of realisation in Cicil's mind. No one around Chase Wellington was genuine. They were all genuinely evil. Can she go home now?

"Mr Wellington, with my exceptional acting skills now that I have caught the culprit, can you raise my salary?" Roy grinned.

"No." Chase said with straight face.

Roy portrayed a distaste face and pouted, "Wh—why? I am certainly did a great job!"

"You still have some job left. Go back to the department and keep your eyes on the monitors!" Chase yelled and fuming with anger, Roy left like a seven years old child.

"Sir, what do we do with her?" Gia asked pointing a finger at Cicil as if they all had forgotten about her existence up until now. It hurt! It was pure humiliation!

Chase's eyes moved toward her and Cicil stepped back instinctively. Both of their dominating demeanor was too overwhelming for her as she felt she was a little bunny while one was a Devil and the other was a fox.

"Hmm..." Chase asked Gia, "She didn't do anything wrong other than calling me a jerk, I guess?"

Gia nodded, "Yes, that is true."

"She didn't use her phone during office hours, I guess." Chase said and Cicil's heart thumped loudly in her ears. He knew?

"I haven't seen her using phone, at least."

"Alright. Then Gia, go back to your position while I talk some sense into her head for some things." Chase smirked and Cicil screamed in her mind.

No! Don't leave me Gia! She shouted in her head but couldn't say it out loud as Gia disappeared after the door closed.

As soon as Gia left, Chase came near with two long strides. Cicil stepped back as her back slammed against the wall and her heart thumped loudly seeing the devil before her. He looked like a predator coming slowly to devour her and she couldn't help but feel helpless.

"I—I am sorry!" Cicil said immediately.

"But sorry won't count..." Chase's eyes stayed on her intensely as he placed his hands on the wall both sides of her capturing her in his cage.

"The—then what do you want?" Cicil asked with a shaky breath. She felt about to break into crying.

From his grin, Cicil could get that he was pleased to hear her question. "You will do whatever I want you to do...from now on."

"What do you mean?" Did 'whatever he wanted' meant he might want her to do some bad businesses? Like some adultery businesses or what?

Chase could see the thoughts forming on her face as he corrected, "I meant I will give you some tasks apart from your receptionist tasks and you will have to do it."

"But why?"

"Because you insulted me yet I didn't fire you," he stood up straight releasing her from his cage and smiled, "Now, pay me back by working two times."

There was a moment of silence that dominated both of them.

Nanda? Two times?!

So, what he wanted was to work her as a slave? That was his plan on getting revenge?! Then so be it! Cicil thought. She wasn't afraid of his revenge. She would fight back head on!

"Then will I get payment for the extra hours?" She asked because it might be good opportunity to make some extra money.

"No."

Cicil gave a scowl. Fighting head on without getting money! No way! "Then why the hell will I do extra...!"

"You want me to add three times extra hours?" Chase asked with a straight face and it sounded more like a threat.

"Err... No. Two times is fine." Cicil agreed immediately. He was a powerful businessman and although he was new, he was getting powers slowly.

"That's what I thought." He smirked. "Now, Cicil Brooks, go back to your desk and I will send you the task details via your official mail."

Cicil dashed away immediately before saying, "Yes, sir!" and huffed a relief once she came out from that hell hole.

Chase Wellington was a devil! He wanted her to work with no salary! That was clearly a scheme but she had no choice since without this job, she had only a few months worth of savings. And if words got out that she said jerk to the youngest rising businessman, Chase Wellington, she was afraid she could kiss her career goodbye.
