"Damn! Just why are there so many options to choose from? With each looking more scrumptious and exotic than the next one," Kyrie complained as still could not decide on something to eat as his eyes scrutinized the menu for today from top to bottom.
Inspecting a multitude of different countries and their specialties, along with their local dishes and their prices. But considering it was only the first day of school, the principal announced that everything was free for the first month for everyone.
"Is this your first time here handsome?" A brown skin shorty with curly hair and hazel eyes asked as she glanced at Kyrie flirtatiously with a smile.
"Yeah, why? Do you have any recommendations by the way? As a brother is struggling here," Kyrie asked genuinely as he turned around.
"Well, it all depends on what you can manage... but if I had to pick, I'd say go for either American or Caribbean food." She replied after thinking about it for a minute as those two were usually the best.
"Sigh, I'd love to, but don't you think that's a bit heavy for the morning," Kyrie asked as he scratched his head with a worried grin, even though deep inside he would not mind eating some Caribbean food.
As that was what he was raised eating ever since he left Europe, at twelve and moved to Jamaica with his mom to help care for his grandparents.
"Boy, please that isn't even heavy!" She giggled as she found it hilarious, how he wanted it yet did not want to admit it due to it being too heavy for the morning.
"Oh, well then what do you suggest I get besides that also, what is your name, beautiful?" Kyrie asked as he retrieved his phone and glanced at the time, only to see he had less than thirteen minutes until class started.
"Hmm, I'd say Tamagoyaki, a classic Japanese staple," She stated while pointing towards the third listed breakfast item under Japan which was priced at ten credits or around $250 in the outside world.
"Sure, but what exactly is Tamagoyaki?" Kyrie asked curiously as to him it looked like a larger egg omelet.
"It's an egg omelet made by rolling together several layers of fried beaten eggs made with soy sauce, sugar, and other flavors. Which gives it an airy but slightly sweet taste and custardy texture also, it's usually eaten with rice, soy sauce, and grated daikon." She answered slowly as she tried to give Kyrie a brief but detailed introduction to what he would be getting.
"Huh? Well then, I guess that will be my breakfast for today, hopefully, it sounds as good as it tastes, um…"
"Sigh, it's Christina… Christina Von Hall, the former princess of the Angelic Kingdom of Sapphire and the woman who will one day steal your heart yet again." Christina said with a wink as she smiled sweetly, not forgetting to emphasize "yet again."
"Oh, well it's a pleasure to meet you, Christina," Kyrie said as he bowed before grasping Christina's hand and kissing it, "But any who you can refer to me as Kyrie Goldstein Jr. the future God of Magic & Alchemy."
'Oh, we got a gentleman, on our hand ladies… let's just hope he is not showing, a facade like his previous reincarnate Einstein that cold-hearted bastard.' Christina thought as she reminisced about their past together before shaking her head and dismissing such thoughts.
As it was useless to indulge in the past when her husband was still struggling to free himself of Demi's gaze. One of the numerous clones of the God of Reincarnation, but that is a story for another time as right now they are just two strangers.
Who coincidently ran into each other during breakfast or so one of them believes.
"Wait, wait what do you mean by yet again?" wondered Kyrie as he just caught onto what Christina said.
"Hmm, I said that? Are you sure you are not hearing things, Kyrie? Maybe it's for the best, if we get you some breakfast, handsome? Before something worse happens and you end up fainting on the first day of classes." stated Christina as she deflected that bullet almost immediately before it could penetrate her defenses.
"Maybe you're right as I am hungry, but are you sure you didn't say that? As I am positive, I heard you say, 'the woman who shall one day~" Kyrie asked just to make sure he was not going crazy before Christina placed her finger on his lips and silenced him.
"Shh, I'm positive but come on as we only got 10 minutes before breakfast is over," Christina said as she grabbed ahold of Kyrie and dragged him over to the Japanese serving line.
5 minutes later...
After getting their food and finding somewhere to sit, Kyrie finally got to try tamagoyaki, which just looked like garlic bread layered and compressed together with a much richer color. However, it was a bit too yellow and thick for his liking, making him lose a bit of his appetite.
"What's wrong now?" asked Christina with a mother's worry after taking a few bites of her food, before putting down her chopsticks and noticing Kyrie was not eating.
"Oh, it's nothing just a loss of appetite is all..." He answered.
"Sigh, come on now, the least you could do is come up with a better lie than that, Kyrie."
"I… I-I am just not used to eating with chopsticks, plus the food is too yellow for me," muttered Kyrie in embarrassment.
"Are you serious? That is what was stopping you from eating chopsticks and the food being too yellow! When I gave you a fork, knife, and spoon; wow, now that's just pathetic truly you couldn't have thought, I'd clown you because you can't use chopsticks right." Christina asked as she glanced at Kyrie suspiciously, before shaking her head and letting out a deep sigh of disappointment.
"I know, but I thought it'd be offensive if I ate it with a fork and knife..."
"You know if you truly thought that way, you could've just asked me to show you how to use chopsticks since it isn't that hard to learn, and I'd be fine teaching you," Christina said to Kyrie as she looked with a gentle smile.
Before glancing at the clock on the wall, "But with the time we have left, it seems it'd be better if you resorted to what you are used to."
"Okay, but still thanks Christina, and hopeful, this doesn't disappoint," Kyrie said as he grabbed a fork and stabbed it into the tamagoyaki, first tasting it by itself. Before dipping it into the soy sauce and later trying it with the rice and daikon.
Losing track of time as he just zoned out and repeated the same action over. Eat, chew, swallow, and repeat.
A while later…
Burp.
"Damn, that was better than expected," commented Kyrie as he licked his lips and reminisced about the meal as he enjoyed every second of it as he wore a smile throughout the whole ordeal.
"See what did I tell you~" Christina was about to say before the bell rang and everyone scrambled to get to class before the late bell rang.
RING! RING! RING!
"… sigh, and there goes the bell so, I guess, this is it, for now, Mr. Goldstein. Well, don't let me take any more of your time cutie, bye." Christina said as she got up and waved Kyrie goodbye before regrouping with her friends and going to class.
Avoiding all questions, they tried to ask her about Kyrie...
"Damn... and now it's just, me against the world again." Kyrie sighed as he got up and threw away his plate and utensils before heading off to class as well.
