Chapter 92 - First Day of Classes - Part 3: Introductions

Meanwhile within Rin's dorm, after the bell rang three times, the light finally seemed to return to his room as the darkness that once engulfed it vanished...

Following Noctis's departure, as Fred used this time to fix and change the seal within Rin's mind by crafting a runic sphere. Surrounded by slithering bluish-white chains that isolated and delicately split the memory fragment into three separate segments, codenamed B.M.E. (Beginning, Middle, and End).

Each of these contained something that Rin could benefit from, whether it be gaining a deeper understanding of laws, weapon mastery, elements, or even just himself.

Along with a unique story that will play a vital role in his development, later down the road as a Conqueror, however, that is only the beginning of what Rin's past has in store for him. If he could survive the assimilation process of the past and present.

Which can be quite tricky to execute, especially if the one overseeing it does not have a high enough understanding of the laws governing the Soul, Mind, Body, and Reincarnation. Even though they function as the intermediary and overseer of the entire process.

Luckily, what Rin will experience is not a true assimilation of two people becoming one, but the assimilation of an old memory that has been altered and tweaked by Fred to fit Rin's current reality and mind frame.

Making the process slightly easier on both parties yet still just as dangerous, considering even though the memory might have belonged to Rin in the past. His current vessel deems them as new memories by his subconscious as compared to when Rin was a baby and Cloud assimilated Luke's soul with Rin's.

Gifting him his karma, destiny, and potential along with bits of his memories, due to the fact at that time Rin was but a blank canvas. So, it was easier to add things when there was nothing already on the page.

Fortunately, Fred thought of a way to ease the burden on both their ends, by making the first two fragments test runs to see if Rin could manage the bits of an ancient being's mind. That almost rivaled a Supreme, an entity with the power to wipe out and recreate reality if it does not affect or alter the original timeline.

"Hmm... just what happened? Do not tell me, I blacked out yet again. Tsk, just what time is it?" Rin muttered with a staggering headache as he picked himself off the ground after being awoken by the ringing of a bell.

A few minutes later…

Click. Thud.

"Sigh, just why me, O Lord?" Rin wondered as he stepped out of his dorm and began making his way toward class.

Maze's POV:

"Just where is this idiot? Isn't he aware that it is almost 10:00 a.m.?" Maze wondered with a hint of worry as she kept looking at the door to see if Rin had arrived already as one person after another entered the classroom and found somewhere to sit.

"I'm sure he will be here shortly, Maze, so stop worrying and just calm down. As I am sure he will make it in time before the second bell rings. Also, it is only the first day of high school, so what if he just~"

"'So, what if he just, what Mr. Davis?" Prof. Nico asked as he stepped into the class and overheard Maze and Ethan's little convo.

"Ahh, um nothing, sir! We were just discussing how long it would take for you to arrive," stated Ethan with a smile that worked well to hide the panic stemming from his body as he tried not to show any signs of weakness. In front of his idol and future Master if he will accept him that is.

"Hmm, while true as who wouldn't be nervous about being taught by a world-famous expert; your friend sadly only has two minutes before he's caught by the gatekeeper and sent to the headmistress for an evaluation," Niko said as he glanced at his watch and wondered if Rin would be able to escape the clutches of the gatekeeper and arrive to class on time.

Swoosh! Thud!

"Sorry about that it seems my body is still not used to the change in time! Oh, and it is nice to finally meet you, Prof. Niko," Rin uttered with a light smile after toppling over a couple of empty desks and creating a mess within his classroom.

Which could have easily been avoided yet where would be the fun in that?

Before sitting in a row behind Ethan and Maze, who were relieved to finally see him. As they sat in the second row.

"So, what took you so long, Rin? Yawn~" Ethan asked curiously as he glanced at Rin.

"As I told Prof. Niko, a lapse in time, but thanks for worrying about me. Unlike someone I know," Rin said to no one in particular.

"Rin, I..."

"It's alright, Ethan. You don't need to defend me, as it seems my presence isn't welcomed here." Maze said as she got up and moved to the front.

"Yo, I was just... forget it, it's better you left anyway," Rin muttered with a sigh even though a part of him did not feel that way.

"Dude, come on it isn't that serious. Plus, she worried about you just as much as I did, and you know that. So why the cold shoulder?"

"Tsk, haven't you ever heard the saying, 'Don't stick in your nose, where it doesn't belong,' Ethan?"

"Sigh, if you say so, but a word to the wise, it's better to reconcile now. While you still got the chance then to wait for this to ferment to the point where you can't." Ethan said before turning around and focusing on the newest arrival.

Niko stated after recollecting himself, "Hmm, well since you are the last person to arrive, Mr. Okumura. I guess I can..."

Knock. Knock. Knock.

"Just who is it now?" Niko wondered as he was starting to get irritated.

"Um, is this homeroom 0803 by any chance?" Someone asked after opening the door slightly and peering into the class.

"Sigh… yes, it is," Niko replied, "And who might you be if you don't mind me asking?"

He asked as he did not remember receiving a notice for any new students attending his class, except for that transfer student from Mongolia and some kid named Timothy from overseas.

"Oh, well that's a bummer, I thought they would've already added my information to the system by now. But you can call me Kyrie Goldstein Jr., the future God of Magic & Alchemy." The student started as he entered the classroom.

"Wait, wait not so quick, kid! As for all, I know you could be a foreign spy sent to assassinate one of my students so, until your identity is verified you are not allowed to take another step into my classroom. Is that clear, Kyrie?"

Niko said as glanced at Kyrie suspiciously, before taking out his phone and dialing a number.

"Yes, sir," uttered Kyrie with a sigh, 'Even in a different school, I am still seen as a threat, truly it can't be this hard to hide my villainous tendencies.' chuckled Kyrie internally.

5 minutes later...

"Thank you, Natalie; so, it seems you are quite the lucky one, Kyrie as your record from Millennial transferred over just not too long ago. One sec later and you would have been a corpse, kid." Niko stated plainly without a shred of care as lives are like dollar bills in a casino.

"... well, um thanks I guess for not killing me," replied Kyrie awkwardly as it was strange to thank the person who would have killed him.

"But anywho, it's a pleasure to meet you, Kyrie, and sorry for the rocky first impression, yet hopefully, one day I can see you attain such a title, kid," Niko said with a smile as it was nice to see young people with the courage and confidence to aim for the stars.

Without a shred of fear of the unknown even though they may not attain such a goal in their entire lifetime. Considering not just anyone can become the God of both Magic & Alchemy, two extensive and lavish pathways that even a few Divine Organizations might not have the capability to achieve.

"Thanks, and you most definitely will, sir, as I Kyrie Goldstein Jr. am destined to leave a mark in history!" Kyrie exclaimed boldly before finally finding somewhere to sit, which was coincidentally right next to Rin.

'Hmm, for a school ranked last among the top academies, I quite like this tranquil yet mystical atmosphere. It's as if the school holds secrets beyond anyone's wildest of dreams, however, for a class split into four rows with five desks in each why are there only twelve students?'

Kyrie wondered since even in the smallest and least liked class at Millennial, there would not be so much space.

"Whatever you say, just do not feel discouraged when you realize the immense hassle it is to achieve such a title. But anywho, let us begin," Niko said as he walked towards the front of the classroom and stood before a blank white screen, "So, before we begin let's construct a couple of ground rules."

1. Play Fair.

2. My Word is Final, so do not even try and tell me how I should run my classroom!

3. Have Fun.

4. Respect your classmates.

5. Any disagreements will be settled within the Arena of Life & Death.

"Any questions? If not let us continue as today will just be a simple and easy day to start the year. However, before we move forward can anyone tell what Project X is?" Niko asked curiously as he conjured a stool and sat down.
