Chapter 1 - Gael.

The kingdom of Raeghas and the kingdom of Freylea were always at war, whether for territory or for disputes between powers, their citizens lived very chaotic lives due to their rulers who required ever youngsters for war, young people were separated from their families to be trained and prepared for war while adults were used as slave labor, whether they were citizens of their kingdoms or not.

Gael was one of those youngsters who had been separated from his family, it took approximately 63 years since he had been separated from his family to become one of the most powerful soldiers commanded directly by order of the king.

His life was hell during all that time, while slowly the kingdom began to slowly wither as its inhabitants left their homes to flee to the borders and forests with the intention of escaping war and forced recruitment to serve the army.

Many perished by fleeing from their quiet lives, whether it was by disease, bandits, wild animals and monsters or the king's simple order to execute anyone who dared to leave the kingdom.

Gael had the obligation to follow the king's orders, whatever the order given, but in one way or another he never obeyed the orders. defying his own king and even challenging anyone who wanted to turn against him.

by putting his own life at risk Gael, managed to save thousands of peasants who fled the kingdom in search of a better life, but this only managed to make him frowned upon by the king of Raeghas, but no one dared to challenge him, due to how strong he had become with the time he spent training.

Time neither forgives nor forgets anyone.

Time continued to pass and Gael had already become a very old soldier, his body had already begun to feel as the ravages of time began to go against him, while he felt as his own soul screamed for everything to end as there was nothing left for him or anyone who remembered him.

His body was no longer what it was when he was 25 years old, able to move freely and execute attacks in an incredible way, his body had become weak and almost did not obey him most of the time, so he was lying in a hut outside the city with the intention of finding at least a peaceful death.

Gael was unable to see his family again in his life, his hometown had been destroyed in a siege by the soldiers of the kingdom of Freylea or that was what they had told him, no one knew what had really happened in that town and its people, but something was certain. Gael's village and family had disappeared a long time ago and there was no way to see them again, and he was very old and very tired and unable to move, as if to try to find answers for himself.

"It seems my time is near..." Gael said, feeling as his body slowly began to stop functioning, his mind barely stayed awake and his arms and legs no longer responded to him, his life was coming to an end.

Strangely enough he was not at all afraid of the fact that he was about to die, but he was relieved of it, he felt that his life and suffering would finally end, he had not lived the way he thought or wished. from one battlefield to another. Gael did not have the opportunity to make friends or settle down and have a peaceful life.

The reign of Raeghas and Freylea spent almost 75 years at war, but in the end these two reached an agreement that mutually benefited each other, Gael had no words to express what he felt when he learned of such news, all those lives that were lost so that in the end simply these two kingdoms came to such an agreement. Gael couldn't believe it, he didn't want to believe it.

But there was nothing he could do, he was old and unable to get out of his own bed. a cruel faith for a poor person who had been forced to fight to exist and live under the feet of a tyrannical king and a kingdom which was very cruel to its own people, but no one could do anything, no one or anything.

Gael continued to blink a couple of times as in her mind she was bathed with hundreds of varied memories, the other soldiers marching beside him toward the battlefield, his superior officer shouting orders and the face of his mother who was smiling at the time.

Every moment, whether happy or sad. was happening before his eyes again, as if everything was happening again, experiencing every sensation again. slowly Gael could feel the end was nearer and nearer.

His breathing became less and less visible, his body had begun to do its last functions before completely shutting down, the only thing that remained in him at that moment were lamentations of not having been able to enjoy his life.

There was no one to say goodbye to him, there were no relatives left, no friends, no pets or simple memories that would corroborate a life worth living, only the emptiness and loneliness that he had felt throughout his life.

His vision slowly but surely began to darken as his eyes searched for something to cling to.

Gael was not afraid of dying, he was afraid of having to live the same life again, a worthless life.

The total darkness towards which his body began to cool down and this feeling as his consciousness became more and more distant, as if he were separating from himself and his own reality, nothing seemed real and everything was very real at that moment, the end was there and there was no way to avoid it or delay it, he just had to hope that everything was over and that his next life was better than the one he had had.

Gael opened his eyes again and all he observed at that moment was darkness, pure and silent darkness which seemed to be everywhere and was always present, his body, he could feel it as if it was being washed away by the waves in the sea.

The atmosphere was neither hot nor cold, there was no noise or silence, existence or non-existence, nothing was true and everything was real at that moment.

Gael's lips began to move at that moment with the intention of communicating a thought aloud.

"I didn't think death would be such a strange thing." He said, continuing his deep observation of the infinity of the void around him.

Crack.

Rustle.

"Let's hurry to open that grave, these catacombs give a bad vibe." A strange, hoarse voice said.

Gael did not feel any familiarity in the voice, so he ignored it momentarily, but his attention was ignited at the moment that all the darkness and emptiness that surrounded him disappeared completely and an unknown face was in front of him.

"eh? this one has nothing, not even old clothes, this catacomb has no one who has anything valuable on it. How about there? something valuable?" The strange and unknown person in front of Gael said screaming with all the force of his lungs to those who could be allegedly his fellow criminals and that they were looting graves, a crime punishable by immediate death.

the person at the time made a disappointing shake with his head, possibly being confirmed by his partner that in that catacomb there was nothing remotely valuable to steal.

Gael didn't know what was happening at that moment, he didn't understand where he was or why there was a grave robber in front of him at that moment, the only thing he knew at that moment.

It was that he could not stand someone who desecrated tombs to live.
