Liliana's shield was both a symbol of perseverance and a symbol of love and devotion to the cause of her family, the shield was a simple wooden round shield reinforced with a common steel frame with beautiful details hand painted by Liliana's own mother while the round body that created the shield had been carved and perfected by her father, but now that shield was torn to shreds, useless and worthless.
Liliana had also suffered significant injuries, Gael had inspected the girl's entire body in front of him, but the only available point of attack he could find was an almost invisible crack in the shield which he used to cover a single point which if attacked multiple times this would yield to the damage received and could be pierced with any of the following
Weapon.
The arm which Liliana used to block the attacks was broken and completely discarded, the bones could be clearly seen coming out of the flesh while she remained unconscious on the ground.
The adult and the young man with the spear were in shock, but the adult was the most surprised at the time, as it was the first real fight her two students would face and one of them was already on the ground at risk of death.
"Liliana!?!" The young man with the spear shouted with all the force of his lungs, placing himself in a position of attack, Gael confirmed the position of the boy and noticed that it was the typical frontal spear attack that was usually used between army collisions, a vague strategy, but at the same time very effective.
The adult then placed his hand on the young man's chest and remained immobile looking for a solution to such a dilemma.
"Concentrate, if you are distracted you will die and so will your sister, we must distract him while we take your sister out of his reach. The adult said trying to logically think of a way to prevent everyone from dying.
Crack.
Crack.
Gael removed the shield that was on his wrist and proceeded to split it into two pieces which he held strangely.
The young man and the adult looked at both parts of the shield and understood what was going on.
"He already has weapons, now if we are in more danger than before, we have to take your sister and run away. The adult said, drawing his sword.
"I'll keep him busy, catch up with your sister and take her away while I buy time." The adult said preparing to start fighting.
At the moment he lifted his sword he was split in half immediately and again he went into shock, the sword had been split with half of Liliana's shield which had been thrown by the skeleton in front of them.
The adult's hands began to tremble at that moment when he realized that there was no way to fight or escape the next thing he did perplexed the young man, the adult began to run and climb the stairs with the intention of saving his life.
"Shit!" The young man shouted out loud putting himself back into a fighting position.
"Don't try it boy, I'm too old, and I was a soldier and your strategy won't work," Gael said and at that moment the young man was totally surprised.
"Take your sister and get out, I don't need to kill you or her, I just needed to get you out of the way, and she stood in front of me with the intention of fighting, I just defended myself," Gael told the young man as he walked past him while he was totally immobilized from the fear he felt at the time.
"I hope we never meet again," Gael said leaving.
Finally, it was time to continue down to the crypt, although Gael's mind at the time was full of questions, such as ¿what was a dungeon? and ¿why are there grave robbers so young? but there was still much to do in the crypt and the possible necromancer was still deep within it, waiting to be killed.
