Chapter 35 - Despair, Tenacity

"UR!!"

Bourne opened his eyes and stood up abruptly. He wasn't sure, but he felt very uncomfortable. He looked around and could only see a ruined town. He didn't see Ur beside him, but he could see both Gray and Lyon who sat a few meters away while hugging their knees and they didn't even talk to each other. He wasn't sure, but his mood wasn't good at the moment.

"Bourne, you've woken up!"

Lyon hurriedly stood up and felt happy when he saw Bourne was alright.

"How is Deliora?" Bourne asked.

"...."

Lyon wasn't sure what to say. He should be happy that Deliora was defeated, but he didn't know how to explain this matter.

Bourne frowned and asked, "Where is Ur?" He felt even more uncomfortable, but he wasn't sure why. He wasn't sure where Ur was, but he hoped for Ur to go out to search for something to eat since he was a bit hungry. He remembered that his chest was wounded, but it had healed. Then he remembered that he had been kissed by Ur and it activated the "Kiss Demon" magic which he had learned before.

Bourne didn't expect that magic would be useful, but at the same time, he knew that it was very powerful magic since with a single kiss, he was able to absorb a magic power.

"Why are you not answering me? Why is Gray crying?"

Bourne frowned, but he felt even more uncomfortable and there was an irritation in his heart. His heart had always been as calm as a lake, but at this moment, he wasn't calm. He felt that his heart was similar to a storm. He tried to control it, but when Lyon didn't answer him, it made him unable to control himself.

"Where is she, dammit?!"

Bourne grabbed Lyon's collar and glared at him.

Lyon cried and pointed his finger in some direction.

Bourne turned his head and saw Deliora which was frozen by ice, but his attention wasn't on Deliora rather on the ice itself. He didn't want to believe it, but he knew very well what kind of spell which used to freeze Deliora, but he needed to confirm it. "Lyon, what was the name of the spell which was used by Ur to frooze Deliora?" His voice was so cold and it was different from his usual voice.

"...."

"Lyon!"

Lyon flinched and said, "...Iced Shell."

"..."

Bourne knew what kind of spell was used by Ur, but he didn't want to believe it. He couldn't utter a word from his mouth since he was so shocked. "...Ur." He was so heartbroken and he wasn't sure what to do. The sunny weather started to turn cloudy and there was a rumbling sound which could be heard but he ignored that. None of that really mattered to him since he had lost her.

Gray was crying and stood up weakly. He stood beside him then looked at Bourne. "Bourne, I'm sorry! It's my fault! If only I didn't go out... if only I listened to Ur... I..."

"....Ult.."

"Huh?" Gray couldn't hear Bourne's voice.

"It was your fault bastard!"

Bourne couldn't contain the rage in his heart and punched Gray directly.

*Baam!*

Gray was blown away by Bourne, but that wasn't over.

Bourne was right on the top of Gray and tears were rolling from his eyes. He grabbed Gray's collar and roared, "It's your fault! Bring her back, bastard!" He kept punching Gray and he really wanted to kill this guy.

"..I'm sorry! I'm sorry! I'm sorry, Bourne!" Gray tried to protect himself, but the difference of power between the two of them was so great rather than the pain on his body. His heart was broken when he saw Bourne's expression.

Lyon knew that it would be bad if this continued and hurriedly stopped Bourne."Bourne, stop! You're to kill, Gray!" He grabbed Bourne's shoulders to pull him away from Gray.

"You...!"

The cloud had turned dark and the rumbling sound became harder.

Bourne glared at Gray and his eyes were red. Tears kept rolling from his eyes. "If only I didn't save you! If only you were not here! You...!" He knew that he had said too much, but he couldn't control his emotions.

Gray's heart was broken and kept crying while apologizing. "I'm sorry, Bourne! I'm sorry!"

"...."

Bourne stopped and wasn't sure what to do. He knew how dangerous "Iced Shell" was and knew that the caster would turn his/her body into ice to freeze the opponent. He had learned it, but he hadn't found the answer at how to return the caster back to normal or rather it was almost impossible. He glared at Gray and roared, "Get the fuck out of here! Don't let me see you again!"

"Bourne!" Gray looked at Bourne. Bourne was the one who had saved him and he wanted to do something to repay him but..

"You...! If I see you again in front of me, I'll kill you!"

Bourne glared at Gray for the last time before pushing Lyon away from himself and walking towards Ur, who had turned into an ice.

Thunder struck down a few kilometers away from their location which caused both Lyon and Gray to be startled, and the weather started to turn into rainstorm.

"Bour---" Gray was about to call him again, but when he saw Bourne glanced at him. He knew that it might be the last time that he saw him and knew that they had become strangers. His body lost control, especially when Bourne put a killing intent on him. He knew that Bourne was going to kill him for sure if he said something again.

"Bourne!" Lyon wanted to follow Bourne, but a sharp wall of ice appeared in front of him.

"Don't come. Go away. I don't have time to babysit you."

Bourne wasn't a babysitter and he didn't have time to manage Lyon.

"But.."

"Can you see that you can do nothing in this place? You're weak. Frankly, you're a burden for me. If you know then just get the fuck out of here!"

Lyon clenched his hand and was about to say something, but Bourne ignored both of them and walked toward Ur.

The rainstorm became harder and the temparature also became colder. Even though Lyon and Gray had gotten used to train in the snowy mountain, they couldn't handle this temperature. If they forced themselves to stay then they would definitely die.

Walking toward Ur who had turned into ice, Bourne bit his lips and wondered why he hadn't trained so hard before. If he had more power then he didn't need to have this tragedy. He knew that he might have said too much to Gray, but even thought he was an adult, he wasn't perfect and he wasn't a human if he could stay calm after his loved one decided to sacrifice to save himself. He touched Ur and used telepathy to talk with her. He wasn't sure whether she could hear him, but he knew that he needed to prevent Ur's soul from giving up inside the darkness. He knew that Ur was alive, but she might truly die if he didn't return her as soon as possible.

"I don't believe that I can't save you."

The wind swept his hair back and his eyes were full of determination. "Wait for me, I'll return you back."
