Upon hearing the name of the song, Danny instantly looked at me with his mouth open as he said, clearly amazed. "Is that your song?"
I pretended not to listen and kept paying attention to the stage while trying to figure out if this song was really mine. The big reason I added the copyrights to my songs was so that no big bad singer would sing my song, and in the end, I ended up looking like just a little singer who did covers.
Something I learned in my old world was that sometimes music could be outstanding, but it wouldn't become famous, but remixes of music would. That was even the case for the song Apologize that I've already sung. When it was played by OneRepublic the first time, it made almost no success. Still, when remixed by Timbaland, the song became viral with hundreds of millions of views on youtube, so obviously, instead of being upset with Laura for remixing my song, I was thrilled.
Jason, who saw the amazement on Danny's face, but couldn't identify the reason, asked him concerned. "Something happened, Danny? Why are you like this?"
When I saw Danny was gonna answer, I quickly put my glass in his mouth and answered Jason. "It's because we heard that song on the way over here in my car after I plugged in my cell phone there."
"Ohh, how nice! This song sounds very interesting, I feel something a little familiar about it, but I can't identify it. Can you send me the link to it later? I want to download it, too." Jason said, excited.
"Sure!" I responded by sighing as I planned my next step toward fame.
While I was making my plans, I noticed that the remix that Laura did actually became precisely like the original Zeeba song in my old world. This left me very shocked since for me to have sung the song, it's because I really liked it, seeing the song with the same design as the original song that I heard so much left me with my mouth open.
"Hey Jason, would there be a problem with us getting on stage?" I asked a little hopeful.
Seeing my look, he got it wrong and responded with a smile. "Of course, everyone gets that way when they see Laura's remixes, she's sure to become very famous in the future."
When we got up on stage, the first half of the song was ending, and the song would return to the chorus in a few seconds. When I got there, I noticed that there was a microphone left and a little nervous, I looked at the audience and tried to visualize how they were feeling about this song.
Everybody was jumping around with delighted looks, some even recording videos from the stage to post on Instagram, so taking a deep breath, I grabbed the microphone next to me and walked out on the side of my new friends and stood next to Laura.
She didn't really understand what I was doing here, but since she was in the middle of a performance, she wasn't going to say anything and just kept playing the music.
When the song got to the part I wanted, I raised my right hand up to the audience's attention and sang along with the song. "Oh, dance with me tonight..."
In those few seconds, before the chorus began, I noticed the shock and amazement in Laura's eyes and in the audience's eyes when they saw that the voice that was singing the song was actually identical to mine... or in this case, it was my voice.
"So let's just take new photographs
Forget about it, let me make you laugh
'Cause we can be all we want to be
Let's just make great new memories…"
When the chorus started, I started jumping off the floor, animating the audience that seeing that I really was the song started jumping along with very animated screaming.
"My God, his voice is very similar to that of the original singer." Jason's girlfriend said thoughtfully while to me.
Danny, hearing this, couldn't hold his laughter any longer and looked at his friends who had amazed looks on their faces. "It's because he's the singer of this song, today when we were coming to the party he told me that he recorded this song today and posted it on QiTube, if you're surprised at that, imagine me, that I heard him sing the song a few minutes before we arrived? Hahaha."
While they were arguing, I finished singing the song and made a little bow towards the audience. "Thank you all for enjoying my music."
"Woooaaaahhhhh!!" They screamed and started clapping for me, making my heart a little nervous, now speeding up some BPM and making the excitement jump out of me.
Ignoring Laura still in shock on stage looking at me, I leave with a smile for the audience. In a position of victory, I raise my right hand and finally understand that I just did my first public performance without even being invited.
"Man, that was incredible, I can't believe you did that!" Danny clearly said very excitedly as he passed his arm over my shoulder.
"Man, I heard this song today on QiTube, and since you arrived I've been imagining and trying to understand why your voice and appearance are so familiar to me, now I do understand why." The curly-haired guy said to me as he passed his arm over my other shoulder.
"Zy, I'm impressed with you, besides singing a song in such a good way, the way you interacted with the audience and gained their sympathy was something that not even some of the professional singers can do, beats here." Jason also said very excitedly about what had just happened, before each of the other people congratulated me and asked how it was.
