"One of the four horsemen has been released, Nero the Horseman of Conquest, ambushed me, sparing me but stealing Percy from under my protection. The first of the seven seals is now free..."
"What are the Seven Seals?" confused, Nora asked
Not knowing how to explain such a topic, Great Mage Mirlie and Sev looked at each other, before Great Mage Mirlie stepped forward,
"When I was younger, well... a lot younger, I became a Fire Mage. Renown as a prodigy upstart, I was recruited by a newly founded Holy Order. At the time very few people knew what had begun to occur. The only thing people knew was that many Holy Orders were either re-established or founded in a short period of time and that Fire and Light Mages were being recruited like wildfire..."
The memories painful to recall, she paused but before she could continue, Sev spoke up, "The mad efforts to recruit these Mages may have seemed odd at first, only for people to realize the gravitas of the situation far too late.
Well, the thing is, the Seven Seals are a series of Divine Realm Seals created by the most ancient of Elemental Lords, mages of a bygone era who wielded unimaginable power. In their prime, they waged war against an entire Realm now known as the 'Realm of Revelations'.
They created seven seals to contain the most powerful aspects of the Realm of Revelations. Each seal built on top of the previous, adding to its complexity. Each seal encompassing an aspect of the Realm such as Nero, the Horseman of Conquest, truly being the embodiment of the Realm's greed. Stories say that the final seal actually managed to Seal the very will of the Realm of Revelations, a near-impossible feat...
The Elemental Lords eventually partially combined the realms in what many believe to be an attempt to glimpse divinity.
Luckily, when Mirlie was recruited they had discovered that three of the seals had already been released, Conquest, War, and Famine. They had-" before Sev could continue Great Mage Mirlie now willing, continued her telling of her past,
"Well as Sev was saying, they had been released and had begun to snowball. The aspects had perverted over the years of their confinement. Turning their morbid aspects into absolute darkness. Their new nature's aiding them in raising legions upon legions of undead.
The more they damaged our Realm, the weaker the seals would become eventually releasing the next of the seven seals.
By some grace and many sacrifices, the many Holy Orders and Mage Towers put aside their grievances and barely managed to reseal the three freed Horsemen.
When the dust had settled, seven Grand Mages were dead, hundreds of Great Mages were slaughtered, and innumerable Mages were massacred.
I lost everyone I once held dear, my friends, my family, my brothers and sisters... Three of the seven seals nearly brought our world to its knees. I wouldn't dare imagine what would occur if the seventh seal ever became undone..."
With Great Mage Mirlie's worlds, an eerie silence lingered in the air around them. Only broken by Lucius' words, "Although the many mages suffered tragically, the warriors, knights, commoners, they all suffered many times the casualties. Luckily for the Allosian Empire, the vast majority of the fighting occurred on the northern continent. What once was the home of one of the most expansive trading hubs has now turned desolate and unforgiving... The aftermaths of war still plague those lands, wild, raging mana storms across the levelled mountains and plains. Unbelievable cold snaps and heat waves torment anyone who attempts to traverse those lands..."
"At least," Great Mage Mirlie spoke, "there is a high chance that Percy is still alive. The fact that the Horsemen of Conquest sparred me, means one thing. He was only recently unsealed. Something tells me that the reason he captured Percy, may have to do with him being a reincarnator...
