Chapter 1 - Chapter 1

Ivy's pov

My life is perfect.

I have the perfect grades, the perfect hair, the perfect school, the perfect friends, and the perfect boyfriend. That's what people say about me. Everyone loves me because I have this great life, a great personality, and I'm nice to everyone. As great as that all is, my life isn't as perfect as they must see. Yes, I have all the wonderful things in my life but, what they dont see, is that I have my own place, struggling to pay the bills. I have a horrible job waiting tables at the local diner. I stay up all night studying for those perfect grades so that I can keep my scholarship at USC. I hardly even get to make time for my friends or my boyfriend.

Except right now, and I'm making the most of it. It's Saturday night and for the first time since I've started working, my boss, Miriam, let me have a Saturday off.

Oh, and did I forget.. I'm a virgin.

Tonight, I'm going to have sex with Ethan after the party. His best friend, James, is throwing a party tonight, as per usual, except this time, I have a day off so, I'm going to surprise Ethan! He'll be so excited because I was supposed to work tonight.

"Ivy." My best friend, Dilyn, calls my name while snapping her fingers in front of my face.

I shake away my thoughts before smiling up at Dilyn, who was giving me an 'are you okay?' look while setting the curling iron down on my bathroom counter.

"Sorry. I'm excited about tonight." I chuckle.

She rolls her eyes. "I still think you should wait. How do you even know he's 'the one'?" She mocks as she does air quotes in the air.

I roll my eyes. "Hello! We've been together for three years. Its not like we'll just break up. We love each other." I tell her in a duh tone. "And, I'm ready to have sex. Better with him then some stranger." I add.

She shakes her head. "A stranger would be better than Ethan. My brother has plenty of friends who would be wayyy better for you then him. Oh! Or my brother! You guys would be perfect!"

She jumps up in excitement. I chuckle at her craziness as I shake my head. Shrugging, she sits down on my bed while giving me a serious look.

"I'm serious, Iv, Ethan is a jerk and I don't know how you don't see that." She says as she looks down at her hands.

I shake my head. "You don't know him like I do."

She nods slightly before standing back up. Clearing her throat, she grabs my makeup and starts getting to work on my face. She doesn't say anything as she finishes her masterpiece. After finding the perfect outfit for tonight, we head to the kitchen.

"My brother and his friends are coming over to pick us up. Aiden doesn't drink so he'll be our DD." Dilyn informs me as she opens my fridge to pull out two water bottles before tossing one to me.

"Thank you." I smile as the door bell rings.

We glance between each other with a questioning look.

"They're early, I guess." Dilyn shrugs.

I nod slightly as I open the door. Maverick, my best friends brother, who I used to have a crush on when I was thirteen, is towering over me with a huge grin plastered on.

He leans down and lifts me up and squeezes the life out of me. I quickly tap on his shoulders.

"Mav. Can't. Breath." I force out causing him to chuckle before setting me down.

"Hey, Poison Ivy." Maverick winks as he calls me by his nickname for me.

I smile as I wave back at him. Mav and I have always been sorta close since Dilyn and I have been best friends since kindergarten. Like I said, I used to have a crush on him but, that fizzled out once I realized I couldn't ever even think about dating my best friends brother. Not long after that, I met Ethan.

Someone clears their throat from behind Maverick. Maverick quickly turns around to acknowledge the two boys standing behind him.

"Oh, Ivy, you haven't met Aiden and Jason." Mav introduces me to the guys.

I hold out my hand toward them. Aiden, who is a few inches taller then Mav, glances down at my hand before looking back at me with a smirk. And, God was that smirk sexy.

"Can we skip the introductions and get something to eat? I'm starving." Aiden says as he pushes his way past me. I glance back at Mav who just shrugs.

Jerk.

Jason, who is a few inches shorter then Mav, grabs my hand and winks as he steps closer to me. "I'm Jason. It's very nice to meet you."

I smile back and step to the side. "Nice to meet you, as well. Make yourselves at home."

Aiden holds up a sandwich and winks. "Already have."

I roll my eyes. Whatever.

***

Because of stupid Maverick and his stupid friends raiding my food, we're an hour late and the party is in full blast. Meaning it would be that much harder to find Ethan. Stupid boys and their eating habits.

Dilyn and I walk in, our arms linked, as we make our way to the kitchen. She looks around and smirks.

"So many hot guys." She bounces excitedly.

I chuckle as I look around for Ethan. I didn't see him when we walked in nor do I see him in the kitchen. He must not be here yet. Dil grabs my arm and I turn to look at her getting a drink.

"Want a drink?" She asks me, slightly yelling over the music.

I shake my head. "No. I want to be sober for later."

She nods in understanding as she grabs her cup and pulls me toward the dancing area. I move my body to the beat with Dil dancing by my side.

A few guys have come and gone to flirt with Dil and even after dancing for so long, I haven't seen Ethan go by.

Maybe he decided to stay home tonight instead of coming to the party.

I stop dancing and head back into the kitchen. Maverick was flirting with some girl by the fridge while Jason was talking to James by the counter covered with bottles of alcohol.

I walk over and nudge James with a smile. He looks down and his eyes widen in shock. He looks around quickly before looking back at me.

"Ivy! What are you doing here? I thought you had to work." He says as he continues to glance around.

I raise my eyebrows as I look around, trying to figure out what he's looking for.

"I thought so, too! Miriam let me off today!" I inform him. "Have you seen Ethan?"

"Uh.. No. I haven't. I'm sorry." He says without meeting my eyes. I furrow my brow at him as he clears his throat. "Maybe he's at home. Sick or something."

I frown. "Maybe I should go check on him."

"No!"

"What? Why not?" I demand.

"Uh... He might be contagious."

I roll my eyes at his pathetic excuse and walk away. I pull out my phone and dial Ethan's number. He doesn't answer and the phone goes straight to voicemail. Groaning, I turn around and bump into somebody.

"Oh, sorry." I say as I look up.

Holy shit. He's got to be like six foot or something. He towers over my 5'2 frame. And, he's so hot.

His eyes were burning my skin as he takes in my features. His eyes raking my body was leaving me hot and bothered, causing my heart rate to speed up.

"Like what you see, Princess?" His lips twitch in amusement as my cheeks flare up.

I shake my head to get the dirty thoughts out of my head and push past him to run upstairs. I needed to get away from him. I just got turned on by a guy I barely knew just from him staring at me.

What the hell is wrong with me? I have a boyfriend!

I open the door to the bathroom and step in. The music wasn't so loud up here and I could finally hear myself think. I pull out my phone once again and dial Ethan. I sigh and sit down on the toilet as I wait for him to answer. Once again, I get sent back to voicemail.

I decide to try once again and walk out of the bathroom to see if Dil had come up here. I hear a phone ringing from the room across from me and hang up the phone. Before deciding to head back downstairs, I call Ethan one last time. The phone starts ringing again only this time, it's answered.

"What?" I hear the guy yell through the door.

"Where are you?" I answer him.

He clears his throat. "I'm at home." He fake coughs. "I think it might be the flu."

I close my eyes and take a deep breath. Fucking liar. "Are you sure?"

"Do you not trust me or something? Of course I'm sure." He snaps.

I did.

I grab the knob and push the door open. Thankfully, they're idiots and didn't lock the door.

Ethan's eyes widen as they land on me and I glance over to see Macy Walker, the slutty cheer bitch, smirking at me. Naked. And, so was Ethan.

I laugh out loud and throw my head back. This is perfect! It goes great with my perfect life!

Note the sarcasm.

"I hope you feel better, jerk." I say as I slam the door.

I here shuffling as I run down the stairs and through the crowd of dancing drunk people. Thankfully my house isn't that far away from the party.

I run out the door and take off down the street. Thankfully I wore flats because I can't walk, let alone run, in heels.

I slow down to a walk when I'm halfway home. I pull out my phone and dial Dilyn's number.

"Hey! Where are you?" Dil shouts excitedly.

I take a deep breath before speaking. "I just remembered, I have some homework that needs to get finished and it's due Monday so, I'll see you in the morning, okay?"

I didn't want to ruin her partying and it was only a little lie. I'd tell her the truth tomorrow.

"Do you want me to come by later?" She asks.

I chuckle. "No, you should get home to sleep."

She nods. "Okay, I love you!"

"Love you, too." I smile.

I walk for another ten minutes before deciding to run the rest of the way home. A few cars passed by before one decides to come to stop beside me.

"Need a ride?" He asks me.

My mouth drops open in shock as I look around.

"Just get in. Maverick will kill me if he finds out I seen you and didn't stop. Especially since he told me I better find you." He smirks.

I nod slightly as I get into Aiden's car.

We drive in silence all the way to my house. He pulls into my driveway and cuts the car off. I smile over at him.

"Thanks for the ride. Um, tell Mav and Dil that I'm okay and I'll see them tomorrow." I say as I open the door.

I walk over to the my door and just as I'm about to open it, Aiden steps up to the door.

"I seen you run out, Princess. would you like to talk about it?" He asks me.

I open the door and walk in, motioning for Aiden to follow. As much as I didn't want to talk about it, I felt like I needed to. I barely knew this guy, yet I wanted to talk to him.

I sit down at my dining room table and put my head down.

"Don't laugh, okay?" I mumble.

Luckily he heard me because he nods as he sits in the chair beside me.

"I was going to give my virginity to my boyfriend tonight." I start. He bites his lip to keep from making a comment and the little move does weird things to my insides. I wish he would bite my lip..

Damn it. I just found out my boyfriend cheated on me, yet I'm still getting turned on by this guy!

"Go on." He urges me on.

I sigh. "I walked in on him with Macy just before I left."

His eyes widen in shock at my news. I shake my head as I stand up. I walk over to the fridge and pull out the milk. I pour two glasses of milk and add chocolate to both. After stirring them to the perfect mixture, I sit one glass in front of him and take a sip of mine.

"Chocolate milk? I thought it was ice cream." He chuckles.

I shrug. "Chocolate milk is so much better than ice cream."

Aiden nods in agreement as he takes a sip of his drink. We sit in silence for a few moments before he clears his throat.

"So, you're a virgin, huh?" He smirks.

I groan and lean back in my chair. "Oh, shut up."

He chuckles. "Don't get embarrassed. I'm a virgin, too."

I laugh as my eyes scan his body. "Sure, and I'm the queen of England."

He smirks. "I'm serious."

I stop laughing to gape at him. "How?"

This time, he laughs. "Well, I just know how to keep it in my pants."

I smirk as I look him over once again. "That makes me feel so much better."

He raises his eyebrows. "Why's that?"

I bite my lip nervously as I look down. "Well, being an 18 year old virgin kind of sucks."

He nods. "Who cares what others think. Don't do something that you don't want to do."

I nod. "Yeah, but I do want to get it over with." I tell him truthfully.

He nods. "Me, too."

I chuckle as I take another sip of my drink. "You could. I mean, look at you. I bet you have all the girls falling at your feet."

He smirks. "I could but, then they'd get clingy."

I roll my eyes. "Cocky, are we?"

He chuckles as his phone rings.

"Hey.. Yeah, I found her.. I brought her home.. She's okay.. Okay, I'm on the way." He hangs up the phone.

"That was Maverick. I've got to go pick them up. I'll see you around, okay?"

I nod. "Yeah, okay."

He winks before turning around to open the door. After he closes the door, I finish my chocolate milk and wash the two glasses before heading upstairs.
