'Mommaaaa, Nooooo'
Han XueLing woke up screaming from her dream. It was always like that on her birthday. She would always dream about what happened to her parents 10 years ago. She looked at her alarm clock which showed 6am sharp. XueLing sighed and got out from her bed to prepare for her class.
After half an hour later, XueLing sat down for her breakfast when she heard her door bell rang. She thought this better be a good thing or else, she was gonna blow up. She was never a morning person and woken up 6am from nightmare did not help her state.
'Hi, Are you Miss Han?' The kind looking old man at her door asked her.
'Yes. Who are you? Why are you here?'
'I am Zhou FuXing, the attorney of Mr.Han. I come here for the last will of Mr. Han.'
Grandpa? XueLing frowned. He had passed away 3 years ago. Why did his will appear after 3 years?
'Please come in, Mr. Zhou.'
Zhou FuXing went into the apartment and curiously looked around. The apartment did not shout luxury at first glance but rather it gave the homey vibe. The walls were white, the carpets on the floor were all in black. The whole room could be said it was decorated in black and white theme. Although black and white theme decorated room usually gave modernized and distant feeling, this room did not have such aura. May be it was because of some cute plush dolls on sofa.
Han XueLing led Mr.Zhou to sit down on sofa. She knew that he was looking around her home. After some minutes, she gave a cough which reminded him to explain why he was here in this early morning.
Attorney Zhou pulled out a file from his briefcase and gave it to XueLing.
The file stated that,
'Ah Ling, if you are reading this, today must be your 20th Birthday. Happy Birthday, Ah Ling. Yeye hoped that i could wish you Happy birthday personally but my health does not allow me. Ah Ling, this is my last will. You will inherit Paradise Resort and the estates which is mentioned at the end of the will but on one condition. The condition is you must be married to your loved one for 2 years when u can inherit those. However, you havent married for 2 years till you are 23, Paradise Resort will be dissolved and the profits will go to the orphanage. Past is past Ah Ling. Dont build walls around you and dont let past destroy your happiness.'
After reading the will, XueLing asked, 'Did Zhong gege know about this?'
'Yes, he knows.' Attorney Zhou nodded. He knew that the future heiress of largest resort in Country Y is special. Just based on being the youngest daughter of Han Empire which had control over Country Y's tourism, she could stay in an estate instead of this one bedroom apartment. Though the apartment is situated in upper class region, this is unexpected.
Zhou FuXing still remembered his shock when he learnt that Han XueLing lived in this region. Even though this region could be called upper class living area, this couldnt even compare to what he himself lived and he was just the head of attorneys from Han Empire.
Another shocking news is Miss Han is also the mysterious designer, Lizz. He could still remember the proud face of current president Han while he delivered this news to attorney Zhou. Sigh... Han siblings were really rare kinds of people.
XueLing watched attorney Zhou and thought for awhile. After minutes, XueLing said attorney Zhou to returned first and she would contact him later.
After sending the attorney on his way home, XueLing called her older brother, Han Zheng Yi.
'Zheng ge, did you know about Yeye's will? Why didnt he just give you the resorts and estates? You know that I was not interested in those business.'
'Ah Ling, you should at least say hello to me first. For your question, yes, I do know about the will. You also know why Yeye give you that resort.'
'I know ge. But that past is what hurt me most.'
'Then you can choose to dissolve the resort right now. Can you bear to do that?'
That question silenced XueLing. Yes, that past hurt her but there was no way she could dissolve the last place of her happy memories.'
XueLing silently accepted her fate hut she still complained about a condition. 'Isnt it too much of that condition? I dont want to marry.'
ZhengYi sighed on the other end of phone. 'You decide for yourself Ah Ling. I dont want to interfere with that. And Happy Birthday Ah Ling. Later lets eat dinner together. I will call ZhongYi to remind.'
'Okay. Dont bring any presents ge. Please tell Zhong ge not to bring presents too.'
XueLing heard the chuckle of her brother before he cut off the line. She knew that her brothers would still bring those presents.
She then tried to continue her breakfast when her phone rang again. She groaned and picked up.
'XueLing, HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!! Dont sleep now, get up quickly. Lets go out and shopping today.' The cheerful voice of a girl rang out from the speaker. This is non other than her best friend, Liu Liu, a famous runway model.
'Why are you so cheerful on my birthday? It is not like your birthday.' XueLing teased her friend.
'Han XueLing, why are you up so early? Did you have nightmares?' XueLing questioned herself why she was having a difficult time starting today. First nightmares, second grandpa's will, third a know it all best friend.
'Yes. And i make some breakfast today. Do you want to come over and have some?'
'YES YES... ' Liu Liu excitedly answered and after few seconds, XueLing heard her door bell rang again.
She got up and let her friend came in. After they had their breakfast, XueLing prepared to go to her class while assuring Liu Liu that she would eat lunch with her.
At 1pm, XueLing and Liu Liu sat down in exclusive restaurant and had lunch. Liu Liu was trying to persuade XueLing to go shopping with her. XueLing kept shaking her head since she knew that Liu Liu would forcefully buy her birthday present. And XueLing hated getting presents.
After XueLing successfully left Liu Liu behind, she drove to the diner where her brothers waited. She dearly wished she could just go home and sleep. She didn't have a good sleep last night and she was starting to feel sleepy.
Following the waiter lead, XueLing arrived in private room. The waiter opened the door and she went in.
'Zheng ge, Zhong ge, Ah Ling arrived.' XueLing stood obediently in front of her two older brothers whose eyes were scanning her features. She knew they loved her dearly and disapprove her decision of staying alone.
'Ah Ling, you look thinner. You also have dark circles under your eyes. Didn't you sleep early last night?' ZhongYi asked her disapprovingly.
ZhongYi's eyes scanned the beautiful girl in front of him and sighed. The two brothers knew that she had nightmares again and urged her to eat dinner quickly.
During dinner, they didn't talk much. XueLing questioned her two brothers suspiciously, 'Where are your presents? I don't think you two wont bring presents at all.'
'You said, not to bring presents. So I didn't bring any. Do you want presents?' ZhengYi replied causally.
'ZhengYi, didnt you say Ah Ling tell me not to bring presents? Why is she asking presents now? Did you lie me?' ZhongYi added.
XueLing narrowed her eyes and warned, 'Dont play any tricks on me. You two know I dont like presents.'
Both brothers laughed and told her to go home quickly. Her eyes were almost shut down though she was trying her best to stay awake.
'Drive safely. Dont forget to lock your doors too.'
'Okay. ' XueLing nodded and drove back home.
XueLing arrived at the front of her apartment and she tried to put in her code while she felt there was someone behind her.
She felt someone hit her at the back and she fainted.
