someone knocked at the door, in the corner of the room lay Collins near the window as the knock continues every bit of the sound weaken him the more, has he quivers on the floor, sniff his nose time and times over again, his nose is red and sour from using his hand to rub it, he struggled to get up but couldn't since there is no energy left in him, the malaria has taking toil on him, he slum on the floor gnashing his teeth, his body is full of sweat as if they poured a bucket of water on him. suddenly the door flew open without permission Tom badge into the room, he knew that his friend hate people invading his privacy but several time Tom does not listen to his friend gibbering, as Tom entered he look everywhere but could not see Collins, where are you man, come here buddy i have some good news for you moving closer to the bathroom there was no sign of running water his heart stop beating for a seconds, he rushes in to check if something has gone wrong, there is no sign of Collins in the bathroom, he checked the closet but could not find him, he is praying silently within him, he is so scared not because he couldn't find his friend but because he is afraid to see him hurt, since the day they met during their university days they have sworn an oath of brotherhood to be there for one another assuming Tom is a lady he would have love to marry Collins for himself but since is the other way round he accept his fate and settled has his brother. Collins heard Tom voice so he summon the last breathe in him to kick the table at his foot, the flower vase on it shattered on the floor Tom was about to go out of the room when he heard the clashing of glass he turn back and gaze at the sight of the sound there he found his friend laying helplessly on the floor shivering uncontrollable he kneel beside him check is temperature he quickly withdrawn his hand course Collins temperature is too high without any further delay he gathered him up and carry him like a bag of rice out of the room. as soon as he step out of the room Charles is the secretary to Tom see him carrying the CEO without waiting for instruction he dash towards the door to get the car. he opened the door for Tom immediately then zoom off on the road without waiting for the red light he foul the traffic rules.
The traffic officer sees the speed of the car that pass him by with full speed and the car even by pass the traffic light without stopping he pursue the car using the mega phone to stop him but Charles the not stop the car he only stop after reaching his destination, he parked the car in front of the hospital and rushed inside the hospital to call for stretcher by the time the nurse were bringing the stretcher the police arrived seeing the commotion he did not even know how to react anymore he look at the person on the stretcher seeing is the CEO of the biggest winery company and also deals in estate and housing he was dazed, he only see the CEO in the magazine seeing him in real life makes him feel blessed as if he as seen his god since Collins has been his idol when he was in high school, since then he has been following up on his idol not until the unfortunate incident that makes the idol to disappeared from magazines, television and internet as a whole.
Collins has been rushed to the emergency room and the best doctor were attending to him.
Tom is pacing up and down the corridor, from time to time looking at the emergency room
Charles went out to settled the case with the traffic officer by the time Charles arrived in front of the officer the officer did not see him course his mind is far away Charles cough to gain the officer attention, the officer was so embarrassed and he feel awkward standing there not knowing what to say Charles broke the silent that engulf them.
Charles: officer I am so sorry for breaking the traffic rules I won't do that again
officer: I understand why you broke the rules its okay, but don't do it next time
Charles: there won't be next time
the officer extend the receipt to Charles, I will take care of it right away
officer: alright then but before I take my leave, i wish the CEO quick recovery
Charles: thanks officer see you around.
both departed Charles made his way back to Tom. Tom paces around looking pale and thinking what would have happened if he does not arrived just in time to save his brother at the thought of that he suddenly shivers, after a while more the emergency room flew open Tom pauses from pacing at the sound of the door and walk toward the doctor .
tom: how is he?
doctor: his stable now still unconscious though assuming you brought him a minutes later then we might have loose him
tom: can I see him now?
doctor : sure, once they moved him to his ward, let me know if you need anything, if you'll excuse me
Tom stare at the back of the doctor has his word rings in his head assuming they brought him a minute later he might have died thank god I found him in time, after regaining his senses he walked straight to Collins room where he lay prone on the bed.
Tom wheel a chair beside his friends bed and stay with him looking at how colour has drain from Collins face. 20 minute later a nurse walked into the room and send him away
