He reached out to me with his hand. "Get up." He said.
I took his hand and followed what he said. I stood up being a bit shy.
"Sorry," I said. Then I realized that we were still holding hands together.
"Sorry, again," I added and let go. He smiled and patted my hair.
"So uh. Can you tell me why you're here?" He said while we walked up the hollow stairs not knowing where we are going.
"Locked outside. Haha. Locksmith won't come back in a couple of days." I replied to him as our steps echoed together.
"So, where exactly are you going to stay?" He asked stopping in the middle of our steps.
"That's the point," I replied with a guilty but smiling face leaning to the wall to our left.
"You can stay at my place if you want?" He said to me breaking the silence.
Then that just made my heartbeat go faster.
"Butterflies are dancing again." I though to myself.
"No thanks. I've caused you much trouble these days, Kyle." I said as I continued to walk through.
"Oh, come on! I insist!" He said after catching up and he held my right shoulder and stood to my left.
For me, everything's just getting better. I never thought that out of all the people in this world, Kyle would become my neighbor. And I got a job too. But I'll just enjoy this while it's still happening. Cause I know that everything's just gonna get worse.
"Are you sure?" I reassured.
"Yeah!" He replied as we arrived on the door with a sign above saying "2A"
"We're here!" He said opening the door.
"Yeah, I remembered," I said as we entered his place.
"Welcome to my humble abode." He said.
I was left starstrucked. His place was really, really neat and so luxurious looking. And actually quite more spacious than mine. I stared blankly around the place and just stood the middle of everything in pure awe. He went somewhere in the house and I was just enjoying myself.
"Feel at home. Wait for me on the couch." He shouted from afar that echoed in the place.
I sat on his blue couch.
"What the? How comfy!" I said as I ran my hand across the silky feel of the couch. My butt felt so snug on the couch, I jumped a bit on the couch, I went up then down making squeaky noises.
"Squeak! Squeak! Squeak!" It went.
Then I looked up and saw Kyle, staring at me, trying to hold his laughter. I made one last squeak and then he burst in laughter.
"What were you doing?
He said as he put some stuff on the table a couple of feet beside the couch still laughing.
"Sorry," I said in humiliation.
"Come." He said sitting on the wooden table.
I came to him, joining him on the table.
"Here. Let's eat." He said handing out some cupcakes.
"How cute!" I said looking at the pig designed cupcake.
"So, you bake?" I said
"Yeah, turns out as I do." He said with a chuckle and he took a bite.
I took a bite too. Chocolate. I took a peek and there were red oozing out in the middle.
"What the heck? What's that?" I said pointing at the oozing viscosity.
"Taste it." He said with teeth black from the chocolate.
I chuckled, he looked funny.
"What's wrong?" He said with an anxious face. Then I laughed more and couldn't breathe. I pointed my teeth resembling his. Then he licked his teeth and found that there was chocolate, he then covered his mouth with his sleeve. He laughed too and we ended up laughing together.
I quickly got over it and finished the cupcakes.
It became dark outside, I was laying on the bed in his other room, staring out the fogging window which was because of the pouring rain, I ran my fingers, creating clarity in the window. But it's not that I hate it, I actually love it for some reason. It's so tranquil and perfect.
Then a ray of light struck me from behind, seeing my shadow right in front of me.
"Hey, let's eat dinner," Kyle said opening the door slightly as I look behind me.
He entered the room and sat down at the end of the bed and I was still laying down, staring outside.
"Love the rain, don't you?" He said.
"Yeah. What's there not to?" I said chuckling in the last bit.
"It's so... understanding..." I said while running my fingers again.
"In a way that no one does." He added that matched our vibe.
"Wait what, how does he say something like that? I wonder if we had the same experience. "I thought in shock
"Yeah!" I said turning to him.
And then our faces were a foot apart. We stared at each other. Our eyes locked and my cheeks turned red. My heart pumped a million beats.
It didn't break until he held my nape. I sat up unsure of what's happening. He leaned towards me more and more but I was just still.
I closed my eyes and the next thing I felt was the gentle touch of his lips against mine.
And that was the time that I realized that I knew that I loved him.
I never thought that I'd love someone else. And most of all, I never thought that it would be a boy.
