I jolted up quickly and looked around. I was... home? I rubbed my head and turned to look over at Vincent. He was sleeping next to me so soundly. I couldn't breathe... was this real? Everything that happened was a dream? It can't be... It was all so real... Vincent yawned and sat up and rubbed his eyes. He smiled as he looked at me, "You're awake! You've been out for so long... The cold really got to you." he said as he pulled me into his arms, "I'm so sorry I didn't get you sooner... You could have died from frostbite" he mumbles. Meanwhile, my heart was racing from my chest, my hands were shaking, and I quickly pulled away to look at him "Y-your" I took a moment to catch my words as I felt them escaping my mouth.
Vincent ran his thumb across my face to wipe the tears I didn't know were there, "What's wrong?" he asked. I couldn't speak. I was speechless. There was no way any of this was real. Vincent can't be in front of me. Vincent's face turned to worry, "Your turning pale... Are you okay?" he asked.
I gripped tightly onto his shirt, "I... I've missed you... I missed you so much, Vincent!" I tried my best to get out the words. I heard his small cute chuckle as he responded, "What are you talking about? You act as if I was gone for years. You must have had a terrible nightmare." he kissed me on the nose softly. I couldn't help but squeeze him tightly in my arms "I love you, Vincent!" I pulled away a little to kiss him on the lips gently. He gave me a slight smile as he kissed me back deeply. I cupped his cheeks, "I thought I lost you..."
Vincent smiled, "You could never lose me, Sky. Not in proper life and not in your dreams. No matter what happens, I will always find my way back to you. I promise. " He cuddled me more "Would you like to explain what happened in your dreams?" he asked. I took a moment before nodding, "Y-yeah... I woke up, and there was a huge fire. You helped me out of the room and carried me downstairs. The complete mansion was in flames. The smoke was getting to you and you couldn't get up anymore. It was daytime so you couldn't leave either. You pushed me out, and I wasn't able to get back in. My father took me and patched me up, but then sold me off... They bid me on until one man named Aaron bought me. I thought he was creepy at first, but he did nothing to me," I explained.
Vincent cuddled me tightly and kissed me all over my face "I'm so sorry you had to go through all of that... I would never push you out of the house into your father's arms. Your mine and only mine, no one else can have you." He smiled.
He slowly pulled away and got out of bed, "Now, I'll go get you some food. After everything that has happened in that dream of yours and last night, you need to stay in bed and rest." He kissed my forehead and left the room. I laid back in thought, "It was all a nightmare... I can't believe it... It was so real..." I mumbled to myself. Suddenly I smelled the powerful scent of smoke and turned over to see smoke seeping through the door. I got out of the bed quickly as my heart raced, "Vincent!!" I ran to the door and pulled hard to open it but it didn't budge.
I kept pulling until the door finally opened, making me stumble back and fall down. The room filled up with even more smoke. Vincent came crawling through the door. It looked like the fire burned part of his face off "Help me..." he cried. "Vincent!!" I yelled and quickly crawled over to him, but before I could reach him, my father stepped in. He stepped right onto Vincent like he was some piece of trash "Your too late. You could have saved him, but you didn't. What an awful son and boyfriend you are" he said and stabbed a metal pole right through Vincent's chest. Blood splattered everywhere, making it onto my face and clothes. My Vincent let out loud screeching screams. I had no choice but to cover my ears.
This is too much... I can't take it... My father walked over to me with the bloody metal pole in his hand "Leave me alone... go away..." I stumbled back until I hit the wall. I turned my head away and squeezed my eyes shut, "LEAVE ME ALONE! LEAVE ME ALONE! LEAVE ME ALONE! LEAVE ME ALONE!" I repeated. Suddenly I heard a loud voice, "Hey! Wake up!" the voice said. I opened my eyes to see Aaron squeezing my shoulders. I took in deep breaths as I looked around and back at Aaron. He slowly lets go of me and took a sigh of relief "You were screaming and I thought something happened to you..." He said as he stood up.
I turned to my side, not saying a word. What did I just see? It never happened like that... I buried my face into my pillow. I felt a gentle hand rub my back "I'm making breakfast, come down when you're ready" Aaron said as he left the room. I don't know Aaron that well, but I didn't want him to leave. I didn't want to be alone after that. I rolled out of the bed and rubbed my face. I had to tell myself that it was all a dream. None of it was real. Vincent isn't dead, I know he isn't dead. He can't be... I made my way out of the room and down the stairs. The smell of pancakes filled the air.
I sat down on the same stool I sat on yesterday. I watched as Aaron was finishing a batch of pancakes. He placed the plate in front of me and sat down "Grab as many as you like" he said. I didn't understand why he was speaking so much more than the other day. Does he feel bad for me? Was he having a better day than yesterday? I still took a few pancakes and placed them on my plate. I ate them without the syrup. Vincent would think I'm crazy if he saw me do this even though he can't eat human food.
"Would you like to tell me what happened?" Aaron asked. It was shocking how he was asking me something for once. I just shook my head. I feel like talking about it would help, but I can't bring myself to relive that over. Aaron just nodded and ate. The male was understanding. He also had a comforting sense to him. He reminds me of my mom. Someone who understood everything and was always there when you needed them. Someone who was caring and loving. I really miss my mother... I need to find her and Vincent both.
