Vincent bites down on my neck and I flinch just a bit. I could feel drops of water falling onto my shoulder and rolling down my back. I could only assume Vincent was crying. I knew he must've disliked what I said but it was the truth. I squeezed him tightly and held him close.
[2 months later]
I walked down the hall full of bats made out of paper, spider wets made of string, and the ghost made of toilet paper. I sigh softly as I admire the childish decorations. I knew Vincent must have made them himself. Halloween wasn't his favorite holiday but that didn't stop him from going all out. he always decorated the mansion on every single holiday. I walked down the stairs and into the dining room "Good morning Vincent. I see you're excited for tonight" I chuckled as I sat down at the table.
Vincent nodded "Of course! its pranking night!" he smiled. Every Halloween we prank anyone who goes into the woods in front of the mansion. Vincent doesn't like people finding his mansion but he didn't want to hurt them. So, every Halloween we prank anyone who comes near it by scaring them into never coming back. "Um.. how is your hand doing?" he asked softly and sadly. every morning he asks the same question. I showed him my hand that was a bit deformed from the burn. "It's perfectly fine now. it doesn't hurt as much but it's sensitive" I started to eat the amazing breakfast made by the cooks themselves. such talented cooks deserve to be on some kind of TV show. Vincent, of course, wasn't eating a healthy breakfast. He just had some chocolate cake and brownies. I've always felt bad that he couldn't eat what I could; while also feeling jealous that he could eat dessert any time of the day and not gain a pound. Vincent and I finished our meal and got ready for the day. "Sky, start carving the pumpkins! I'll continue making the ghost and bats" Vincent called out to me. Of course, I get the hard and most dangerous job.
I wouldn't trust Vincent with a knife anyways, I might get hurt more then him but I still think he would freak out and hurt himself in some way. I went to the kitchen and grabbed a knife then came back to the main room with all the pumpkins. There was about 30 of them and Vincent wanted each one to be craved in different faces. I made all types of faces from animals and humans to vampires and other "mythical" creatures. It took the whole day and once I was done, it was pranking time. Vincent came running down the stairs like a child on Christmas morning "Sky! it's time! are the pumpkins done?" he asked. I whipped the sweat off my forehead and nodded "Yup, just as you requested"
Vincent smiled and moved in front of me. He handed me a candy blood bag. It looked like a real blood bag found in a hospital but it was filled with red strawberry juice instead of blood. "Do you remember the plan?" Vincent asked. I tilted my head to the side a bit in confusion. I remember him telling me but I don't remember all the details. "I'm guessing that's a no huh? Well, first you will walk up to them saying you're lost. You will ask them if they can show you the way out. While you both walk, you make a good conversation and then I will come out." Vincent ended it there, leaving me confused "Is that it?" I asked. He gave a nod "Indeed" he replied. I didn't know how Vincent showing up will make the other scared and I still had no idea what the blood bag will be used for. I just decided to nod and follow Vincent out the door and into the night. We walked deep into the forest until we heard the sound of two people talking to each other.
Vincent smirks and winks at me before disappearing behind a tree. I sighed softly and walked up to the couple. It was a boy and a girl holding hands. The male suddenly got protective and stood in front of the female. I raised both of my hands to show I'm harmless "Sorry, sorry. I didn't mean to scare or bother you both but I am lost" I admitted. The male was dressed in a long white jacket with some bloodstains, blue gloves, and a mask hanging from his neck. He reminded me of a surgeon from a book I saw. The female was dressed in a very short white skirt, a white crop top, and a white hat with a red cross printed on it. I was guessing she was a nurse of some kind. The male frowned "Yeah right I'm not falling for your shitty pranks!" he yelled. The female elbowed the male in the side "Don't be mean to the cutie. He probably really is lost and wants to find his way home~" she snickered. The male growled "Fine. Follow us but don't go near my girl" he snapped at me. I made my way beside the man. I didn't know how I could start a conversion with someone who already dislikes me. "um.. why are you guys here if you don't mind me asking"
The female smiled at me "The same reason you're here silly" she answered. I raised one of my eye browns in confusion "That is?" I replied. "To find the vampire of course!" she yelled. "Oh," I said a bit shocked. "We heard that every Halloween a vampire takes a victim from the woods and it's usually a guy," she said. She isn't wrong, every year its a different prank but the same concept. "I wonder if the police are on it," she asked the male in between us "Nah, they don't believe in vampires. Why would they anyway? Its most likely someone pretending to be a vampire" he replied. I nod quickly "I agree, vampires are scary stories for kids" I quickly replied. The male smiled at me "I'm glad we have something in common!" he said. I smiled back at him with a thumbs up and then suddenly I was yanked from behind "Ahh!" I yelled out from surprise. The male and female quickly turned around to see me on the ground with another male on top of me. It was Vincent, the vampire, smirking at me and then glaring at the couple. I knew it was time for my acting skills "Get off me!" I yelled out and tried pushing him away.
Vincent has not only grew in hight but strength as well. I never knew how strong he was until this night. He held me down tightly, his hands wrapped around my wrist and kept them down on the grass. His nose and mine were only inches apart. Suddenly I heard the voice of the male from a short distance "Let him go! who are you!?". Vincent punched my chest exactly where I hid the fake blood. It still hurt a bit, I wonder if Vincent even knows his strength. The blood seeped through my white shirt and slowly fell onto the ground. I made loud coughing and screaming sounds. The female gasped and covered her mouth in shock. The male was also frightened and backed up a little. Vincent let go of one of my hands to hold my head up close to his mouth. I made my hand drop weakly into the fake puddle of blood before reaching out to the couple helplessly "help... me... please..."
Vincent bites down on my neck and I let out a fake scream. I was to use to Vincents feeding to the point where it was more pleasure than pain. It took a lot in me to not get excited or moan at the feeling. The female screamed and ran off, out of the woods leaving the male behind. The male was so stunned at what he was seeing that he didn't know what to do. He soon came back to reality and ran off to find the female. I started laughing once the silhouette of the male was no longer to be seen. Vincent was laughing as well and helped me up "That was amazing Vincent. That was pretty scary as well" I complimented him. Vincent blushes slightly and smiled "It was amazing thanks to your acting. I can't believe it went well!" He said excitedly. "I deserve some candy after all that hard work," Vincent said and marched back to the mansion. I followed behind him slowly but felt a weird presence, like someone was watching me. I turned around quickly and saw a shadow of a tall looking man. It was too dark to make out his features or to see what he was wearing but he gave me a terrible feeling in my chest. The man walked into the forest where he was no longer able to be seen.
I swallowed hard and my attention quickly changed when I heard Vincent's voice from a distance "Sky! hurry up! I'm gonna eat all the candy without you~!" he teased. I quickly ran to Vincent and we both raced inside the mansion but no matter what other fun things we did that night, that man was still in the back of my mind, scaring me.
