Chapter 5 - Call me Lassie

As I stared in awe at the mansion before me Castor walked up to the door and knocked. I could hear some pattering of feet until a lady around her mid forties opened the door. She was tall. I mean like Hagrid tall. That's an exaggeration, She was around 6'3 with narrowed obsidian eyes that seemed to peer and into my soul. She had long black hair flowing in voluminous locks down her back. Dang, what conditioner did she use? Her mouth curled up into a bright mischievous grin as she saw Castor, her sharp canines reminded me of the teeth of wolves.

" Castor! Hello! Oh, who've you got with you? This must be that Heath boy you've gone on and on about," The woman said in a energetic, motherly voice. Castor looked red as I looked over to him. I turned my head back around as I heard the woman start to speak again.

" My name is Thalassa, darling. But you can call me Lassie if you like or Thals. Oh, come in!" Lassie motioned us in and I stepped inside. The house was grand but seemed warm and homely. There were pictures of Lassie, me, and Castor. I don't really know where they came from, seeing as two out of three of us are supposed to be imaginary.

Lassie led us to a smallish living room with a lot of comfy looking chairs and couches with a huge flat screen on the wall. She sat down on a arm chair and beckoned for us to come sit on the love seat across from it.

" So-, are you boys hungry?" She asked us after a minute or two of awkward silence. I thought back to that story and the snacks. Whatever dregs of an appetite I had left was gone in an instant. It looked like Castor felt the same way as he shook his head, I followed suit. She nodded. Looking thoughtful for a moment, her finger up on lip she hummed a rhythmic, lulling tune. Her eyes brightened for a moment and she started to speak,

" So, next week you'll be starting at Alsera academy!" Oh, just the name humbled me. Only the rich get to go there. It's nearly impossible to get a scholarship, you have to be a bona fide, certified genius to get one.

It's a blessing in itself to even get to see the campus much less go there to learn.

" That reminds me your uniforms are in your rooms. I got to show them to you!" She continued, clapping her hands together. She got up and started to walk out of the room. Us jogging to catch up to her.
