I know Goba must be watching really close by, maybe I should just ask him if he could use it, and if not if I can use this night sky egg. Maybe if we both can't use it it'll go to the hare to buy him into becoming my trained monster.
After looking around I didn't see Goba yet, so I called his name, slightly hushed of course, who knows what will find me if I'm too loud! "Goba, I need your help with something." and he appears from behind a tree that isn't thick enough to cover his entire body, it's probably because he's green himself, camouflaged in the dark forest.
"What is the matter?" He asks, even while he's looking at the egg already. So I told him about my thoughts, about what I felt while digging, what I saw when it touched the air, about that it looks like the night sky, about that it looks like the hare too, about that Goba can have it if he feels like he could use it, and about that I also feel like I'd like it. But that I'm also not sure that I want it.
After a moment of contemplating he looks at me and says "It is a fungus that's useless to me, even though that it's Yin based. My body is Yin based too but it's more of an evil Yin, the Yin in the fungus is just dark, not evil. If I should make a guess it'd be night, night is a rare sub-group of darkness.
I think you both feel attracted and uncomfortable about it is because you have both Yin and Yang in your body, and those two are pretty balanced. So if you'd eat the fungus like this your balance would be offset, you could become pure Yin or you could die.
If the colors were dark gray and silver sparkles it'd be great for the hare, now it's just okay. He might evolve, but if I'm right he's gone on the space route, this might just bring him back to darkness. On the long run it might make him weaker."
That was a lot of information, but it just means that it's just useless now right? It's wrong for Goba, it'll make the hare weaker and I might die? "So, it's useless?"
This earns me a hit on my forehead. "Of course it isn't useless. Tell me, what did I tell you about darkness type natural treasures?"
After a small moment I remembered "When you find one, you always need to search harder. 'When there's light, darkness is just behind'! So if I look closely I might find a light, or even day natural treasure close by!" at the end of this explanation I'm practically jumping with anticipation, my eyes darting from left to right. "Goba, you will help me find it right? If I have both and eat them both my balance will stay right and there won't be anything bad right!?"
Seeing him nod at me I get even more excited and start looking around! A few minutes later I notice that Goba hasn't moved yet, he was going to help right? "Goba, why aren't you searching with me?"
He looks at me in a funny way. "You're running around like you lost your head and you try to find it by kicking it, you'll take a long time to find it like that. Remember, if you know something has to be here it's quicker to stop and think about where it could be then just run around like you're doing now."
He does have a point, I know I can't refute his argument because my cheeks are getting red, I was just really excited okay? I want to become stronger! So after calming myself down a little I start thinking aloud. "Okay, so the fungus was underground, but why would it be there? It isn't like it's more dark here than one meter over. Maybe the light couldn't get to it? And the light we see isn't the only light there is, some light can go through the ground and reach the fungus. So something really close must absorb all the light before it can reach it, so it's up?" I look up and I see nothing at all! Damn! Maybe I'm looking from the wrong place.
So I moved to where the fungus was, I lied down with my head on the ground and I look up, and then I noticed something! The sun disappears and everything looks just like the day sky! The sun disappears when I'm exactly here! I reach up following the line and I still can't feel anything, so I use the staff of my scythe and feel up, and there is something! I knew it! There's a fruit that's invisible from any angle, if it didn't make the sun disappear I wouldn't have had any way to know!
I swing my scythe and cut through the branch it's hanging from, I caught the branch and I feel it's heavy, there's definitely something here! "Goba, how do I eat these two safely?"
"You just put both of them in your mouth at the same time, and then bite through them in one go, that's the only way I know to lower the risk of unbalancing your energies."
What he says is what I do, the two treasures are the same size and only just fit in my two cheeks. I bite through them with quite some ease. At the moment both skins break juices fill my mouth and flow down my throat, they flow even before I start to swallow. The juices feel warm and cold, the warm and cold feelings are circling around each other while they flow down. It keeps flowing down, even lower than water would go, and it stops just below my belly button. Over there they spiral into a whirlpool of hot and cold, when they meet at the center they shoot out in all directions. But most of the hot and cold energy flows to my sides and goes up to my chest where they form another whirlpool where it shoots out again with only one more stream going straight up through my spine and neck, flowing through my head to my forehead where it form a last, smallest whirpool.
When I open my eyes again it's dark, but I'm inside the shed! I was focusing on those flows for a few seconds, how did I end up here!?
