Chapter 17 - That Year 7

'Child, what happened? Don't you have an appetite? Emily's grandmother was asking as she looked at her granddaughter who has not eaten anything!

'I am not hungry! Good night granny.'

Emily laid her heavy head and sloppy legs to bedroom.

She felt comfy when she relaxed herself on bed. Her room was not very fancy just a bed, a study table and a wardrobe. The colors of the walls were of sandal colored and bright yellow shining at one wall. Small vase with bright red roses made the room lively.

Emily loved to keep her room neat and clean. All the things were kept at proper place. Though the room was freakishly clean and nice but it lacked that liveliness.

One's life is reflected in the surrounding they use. Emily was lively and bubbly girl in her comfortable zone. But over these years she became more matured. She started behaving as a young woman who needs to think about budget and take care of her family and sacrifice her dreams to pursuit dreams of her loved ones.

It was almost 3 in the morning but she couldn't get a wink of sleep. Her eyes were heavy and she was quite tired but her mind was restless.

'Hi' the message displayed on her chat box and almost made her feel the magic of happiness. She never expected that Jake will message her! They just contacted with their eyes or sometimes standing next to their friends and commenting. But they never spoke with each other.

She replied with a big 'Hello'.

It looked like he typed for a long time but the message was never delivered! Like it was gulped away before it could be seen by her.

Emily became quite disappointed but she knew it was only a starting!

Samuel messaged her asking if she was okay! It was quite stressing to him that girl he liked; first one whom he proposed has rejected him. He could have prepared nicely maybe he could had a chance!

'Samuel I okay! Don't worry so much. If it really bothering you we will speak after holidays! Take care.' She left some reassuring words to him so as to calm down his uneasiness.

It was little bit selfish of her to lose a friend like him. And she really wanted to have him as her friend for rest of her life. She felt a bit guilty towards him but she was totally confused and could not think straight.

All the hovering thoughts made her have a restless night! With her dim eyes she climbed down in kitchen to make breakfast.

'Dear if you are making breakfast, please makes it for three people as I have a guest. And also please make it less spicy and healthier.' Grandma said with elegance.

Emily didn't ask who was the person that was joining them for breakfast. Because she knew her grandmother will never answer it. Her grandmother loved to hold the truth to herself and was lady with defined and elegant character and she didn't like people questioning her! She loved to keep the utmost power to herself.

Her grandmother loved to have a healthy breakfast. Some boiled eggs, oatmeal porridge, gluten free cookies, fruits and some milk will be perfect breakfast, thought Emily.

She prepared the dining table. Closely looking at her accomplishments so that she will not be embarrassed in front of her grandmother and her guest!

Her grandmother didn't like to have servants for doing works in kitchen maybe cooking or cleaning mess. She solely believed that is most private affair of family. One should cook for loved ones and something should be left on table within family members only!

After doing her chores, Emily went to ask her grandmother for breakfast who was seem to be speaking with her guest.

She gently knocked the door and entered the room, 'Grandma Breakfast is ready' while her eyes startled to look who the guest was!

He was sitting in indigo colored suit and maintaining his upright position with elegance and domineering the room with his aura was none other than Jake Knight! While she looked upon her, she was wearing a pink dress with yellow apron and hair in plaids, looking very childish like she was in primary school!
