As usual, I have no idea what they were doing there outside. I was more focused on the dungeon layout. During the first time I entered, there was not some kind of trouble but now, I am seeing multiple troubles just in the entrance.
"Restless Corpse"
Level 30
HP: 1,000/1,000
Attribute: Undead
These monsters drag players and they only appear on Hell mode above. They might have low HP but I don't dare underestimate them. To clear the Abyss Mode, killing all monsters is needed unlike in normal mode where you can go directly to the bosses to fight. In Abyss Mode, you need to beat up the monsters that are roaming around before the boss room unlocks. Many players in my timeline thought that the strategy in Normal Mode is good to use in Abyss Mode but that ends up badly because they will end up trapped by a horde of enemies instead.
"Earth Fissure!"
Since Restless Corpse are monsters sticking out on the ground, any kind of attacks that deals attacks involving the ground can cause damage to them and Earth Fissure is one of the examples.
CRACK
CRACK
CRACK
Monsters died one another. They are merely level 30 but they still hold enough power to survive attacks that is why undead monsters are quite troublesome to deal with. As they died, my Exp bar barely moved an inch. The experience of beating the these monsters are too measly. If Leona was summoned, she might have earned a lot but it was really dangerous to allow Leona to roam in Abyss Mode. Death is lurking all around the dungeon.
The Restless Corpse were wiped out into dust after the attack but the enemy attacks are just beginning.
"Skeleton Vulture"
Level 35
HP: 3,000/3,000
Attribute: Undead, Flying
"Demon Hound"
Level 35
HP: 5,000/5,000
Attribute: Darkness, Fire
F*ck, these monsters are on tag team which is what I really hate the most. They are too swift and even though they are flying bones, they are fast in flying and very hostile towards the player accompanied by the attacks of Demon Hounds that arrive in packs. The Demon Hounds have risen their level and their measly HP of 1,000 last time rise up to 5,000. I attacked them by swinging my weapon but they barely got killed. I even changed into guns to shoot them down. Arrows only pass through them so it is not worth using and guns has a more destructive power. Even with that, my HP fell to critical level s immediately. But I did not panic at all. I quickly began the chant of magic while keeping my guns pointed on the Skeleton Vultures while dodging the bites of the Demon Hounds.
"Lord of Lightning, heed my call to strike my foes with divine retribution that smites the darkness that lives within! Thunderbolt!"
I manage to keep the chant up while keeping my hands and attention on the vultures and Demon Hounds. It was really hard to dungeon alone in Abyss Mode but I have no regrets and I am confident to clear it. As the power of the Lightning crackled up on the place, it quickly descended and strikes the flying Skeleton Vultures with thousands of watts and even though they are just bones, they still died via electrocution. Only a few Demon Hounds were left after they managed to escape the Thunderbolt.
The packs of Demon Wolves are increasing. I didn't hesitate and pull out the Dragon Strength Potion and gulped it. The taste was somehow strong and acidic, which reminds me of many energy drinks. I also drank the Wizard Potion and unlike the Dragon Strength Potion, this potion is much more terrible. The bitterness it gives is much bitter than a bitter gourd.
BOOM
The sound resounded my body as I consumed those medicines, buffs quickly appeared in my character panel.
"Additional Strength +100% for five minutes"
"Magic Attacks and Magic Defense increased +100% for 3 minutes.
Seeing those buffs, time to get on work.
"Freezing Prison!"
CLENG!
The freezing ice envelopes the surrounding Demon Hounds, trying to escape in which I only leave the head not encased on Ice. I changed my weapon to sword and quickly strike their heads directly, killing any of the struggling Demon Hounds.
Die!
I did not waste my time. If I want to leave a record that cannot be passed by anyone else in the abyss mode, I need to be swift. In just a few minutes, the bodies of the Demon Hounds was defrosted but they were no longer alive.
Seeing no more reinforcements from the enemies, I quickly sprinted straight to the way and as usual, many enemies like the Restless Corpses and Demon Hounds are on the attack mode seeing me approaching. Meanwhile I quickly donned down another set of Dragon Strength Potion and Wizard Potions once more, raising my capabilities once more. Before I can progress further, another enemy appeared and this time, it was an Elite Version.
"GraveEaters(Elite)"
Level 40
HP:9,000/9,000
Attribute: Darkness, Undead
Ugh, I hate this guy! I spent countless of death in this dungeon in my timeline and half of the cause is due to this guy. It might look like he is easy to deal but I underestimated it when I was still a Magic Knight. These guys only appear in Hard Mode and above. The abilities of GraveEaters in hard mode is too revive once by consuming a nearby mob. In Abyss Mode, they can devour dead mobs and living mobs to revive, once you kill them and revive, their strength multiplies. Making them hard to deal with. And in the Abyss Mode, there are 15 of them.
Actually, they are not immortal but it will be tiresome to kill them. On the time I managed to clear this place, it took me half a day. There is no actual strategy to clear the place in one swoop but there is a faster way to do it. Now that I am a Versatile, I have already the means to kill them. What I lack when I was a Magic Knight was the lack of AOE skills. Magic Knights might have AOE skills but they consume too much mana and many Magic Knight users know that. And to actually deal with the GraveEaters, you need to have lots of AOE in your arsenal and should have a fast cooldowns with short or no chants. Magic Knights are not capable of that but Magicians can. The only problem Magicians face is the attacks of GraveEaters are too dangerous due to their low defense which is an advantage to the Magic Knights who have excellent defense. Dolly and I managed to find this strategy in an accident and we get to finish the Lesser Purgatory Abyss Mode in less than 2 hours. The fastest speed that the Lesser Purgatory Abyss Mode was cleared is 1 hour and 43 minutes which is Dolly and I's achievements. Till that day, nobody managed to tie up or surpass that speed.
Though it saddens me that Dolly is not here with me and play together, I already promised myself to play solo and avoid having a party with others or affiliate myself on a guild. But I already miss those times with my friends. But that can wait. I have to do this for the sake of avoiding the conclusion of my life. And also to know the motive of those guys. Getting stronger and getting enough money is a priority.
After entering the Aggro range of the GraveEaters, the GraveEaters immediately borrows down the ground. This is their attacks that can surprise players and most likely kill them. Without hesitation, I changed mt weapon into Magic Sword and used another skill I used earlier to deal with them.
"Earth Fissure!"
CRACK!
The Magic Sword emits strong vibrations, causing the ground to create fissures and causing the GraveEaters to withdraw from their attacks. When they pop out like moles again, I quickly decided to stop them in their tracks.
"Freezing Prison!"
Freezing the ground was good but I doubt these can hold those monsters. If you all are trying to say I have to summon my Shadow Clones for easy fight, it is not an easy one. As I mentioned this, Shadow Clones uses my consciousness to control them. If I summon them, my control with the situation will get harder and harder as time pass by. I had to dodge, calculate plans, use chants and attack them. If you add the control job on Shadow Clones, it will be exaggerated but I might be considered as a Supercomputer already if that happens.
From my estimate, the Freezing Prison will only last for 7 seconds due to the power of GraveEaters which is to chomp away graves and corpses. Though it was considered as a short time for many, it is enough for me to formulate my battle plan.
""Lord of Lightning, heed my call to strike my foes with divine retribution that smites the darkness that lives within! Thunderbolt!"
If you ask me how I can manage to chant spells like a true magician, that was because the chants necessary to use the skill is already included in the skill panel and my Photographic memory helps on memorizing all the long chants.
CRACKLE!
With the continuous barrage of those three skills, the GraveEaters perished. But it was not my time to relax. As soon as their HP hits zero, they quickly made their way towards the dead Demon Hounds. I can't kill those moving things since they appear invulnerable in the system which means I need to kill them again. And as usual, they quickly reform themselves once more. Before they can finish their transformations, I quickly back away from them and land in a distance. I can't keep on doing the spam attacks. Besides the cooldown, the stats of these monsters drastically rose up.
"GraveEaters(Elite)"
Level 40
HP: 11,000/11,000
Attribute: Darkness, Undead
Sure healing them can cause damage but I decided to never do that. Cooldowns on Healing skills are longer than Magic skills and you never know when you will be seeing another life threatening monsters here. In Abyss Mode, it was full of surprises and you have not just seen the difficulty it can do. Even me who have already know how difficult it is to finish a run in an hour.
The GraveEaters once again borrows down the ground, locking me in as their targets. Luckily, my Earth Fissure skill is good to cast once again, letting me to survive this ordeal once again.
"Earth Fissure!"
It might be repetitive but I might do it instead of dying. I knew that the GraveEaters will soon appear more dangerous and harder to deal. I just hope I can survive this before arriving to the first boss room.
