Chapter 6 - Core of the Elemental Slime Necklace

"Core of the Elemental Slime Necklace [Rare]

Level: 2

Spell Amplification: +21%

Magic Casting Duration: -5 seconds

Elemental Spells: +10% Magical Damage when equipped

Hit Rate: +15%

Description:

The core of the Elemental Slime that has been able to absorb lots of magic into its body, causing the core to get rich with magic. A magician used it as the pendant of a necklace, forming a magical item that is a menace to the Elemental Slimes. Can be traded. Can be dropped.

Store Price: 20,000 Gold

Sure enough, I found the necklace without much effort. In the past, many people sought for this particular item due its price . 20,000 gold when sold to NPC's which is particularly difficult

to have, early in the game. Many players struggle to earn a gold coin. However, upon hearing the expensive Core of the Elemental Slime Necklace, many players wanted to farm one.

The only problem that these players have is the fact that the Core of the Elemental Slime Necklace to have so low drop rate which must be around 0.002%, earning a single one is considered to be lucky. Not a single player earned two Core of the Elemental Slime Necklace by farming. Its either somebody traded it with him or her, or he or she bought it from the Online Market.

Many players are reluctant to sell this necklace so early in the game. Besides the stats, the effects of the necklace is a huge boosts to players who have low hit rates like Holy Knights and Magicians.

I am not planning to farm another one of these items. Besides the drop rate so low, I doubt I will earn another one. I quickly equipped the necklace, giving my hidden stats a boost.

Hidden stats are also known as the hit rate stats. Hit damage and the amount of hit a character can execute per second are called Hidden Stats due to the fact that it is not displayed in your character panel and there seems to be no change in your stats.

Since the Memento Mori's effects already have shown effects, might as well make use of it. I also need to raise the proficiency of my weapon. Since I used the beginner weapon of the magicians, I decided to raise my proficiency to this weapon. I already have 50% proficiency to this weapon and using another skill will raise my proficiency, giving me 5 Magician Class AP.

Diamond Mines are all housed by Elemental Slimes. They are weak but there physical resistance makes it hard.

Elemental Slimes (Normal)

Level 3

Health: 500/500

Attribute: Fire

Some monsters have attributes. Which means, some attacks are really effective against them while using the same kind of element attacks against the monster weaken the said attack, showing reduced damaged that will show blue numbers while effective and critical hits shows big red numbers.

I dwelve deeper into the mine. I also dwell here in the past, farming for the said necklace. However, I ended up selling the necklace and didn't get to enjoy the effects of the necklace due to my high level, making the necklace quality drop in my opinion. But since I am drastically in need of gold that time, it is the most efficient way.

Not that far from the location of the first Elemental Slime, I saw a clump of Ice Attributed Slimes eating a stalactite.

Elemental Slimes(Normal)

Level 3

Health: 500/500

Attribute: Ice

Seeing the Ice attribute on their stats, I used my newly learned skill, Basic Fireball by aiming my weapon and hand to the slimes.

"Basic Fireball!"

Though I shouted the skill, I don't need to do it since I can activate it without chanting. I just wanted to feel what the protagonists in novels feel, shouting their skills and showing off their prowess. I actually wanted to feel it while no one is watching.

The Basic Fireball appeared in my hand and the tip of the Wand and after aiming, the fireball strikes the nearby Elemental Slime.

Basic Fireball gives off lots of damage to the Elemental Slimes. And since they are effective against them, the damage numbers appear red and big. Also, due to the realistic way of the Alternate World, the Basic Fireball has a chance to cause continuous damage against enemies. And with the fact that I equipped the Core of the Elemental Slime Necklace, the damage of my spell doubled. Also, my Proficiency has risen.

"Proficiency has risen for the Magician Job weapon. Awarding player Bladeheart with 5 Magician AP.".

I grinned. This is one of the best effects of the title, Death's favorite. Raising proficiency is really hard as it needs to be given with so much effort than the Experience points. With the Basic Fireball having a continuous damage towards the slimes, my Exp bar also filled in. I killed a total of 3 Slimes, with 5 more remaining with half health left.

With the cooldown of basic Fireball five seconds, I quickly dodge the attacks of the Elemental Slimes, shooting some Acid Goo. Acid Goo are troublesome for players when it hit since it has a large 50% chance to cause poison and eroding debuff. Eroding is another new debuff present in the game. Its effect shows that it erodes the durability of your equipment slowly. Players have a hard time against this at first. However, after practicing footwork dodging, players find a better way of destroying the enemies.

Having your armor being reduced with durability, if the eroding exceeded a certain level, it will destroy your equipment without leaving any scrap.

After the cooldown of the Basic Fireball, I casted it once again and shoots another volley of fireball towards the Elemental Slimes and another set of damages appear.

The damage shows a consistent 250 damage is due to the fact that the amount of damage I inflict are still the same, showing no decrease or increase. The remaining Slimes got burned to crisp and drop an ingredient item.

"Bottle of Goo (Ice Element)

Recipe Ingredient

Description: A residue left by the Elemental Slime after being killed. Has a small amount of magic left on its residue, it is actually used as ingredients for making potions and enhancing elemental properties and weapons. Very volatile and dangerous. Can be used as a weapon.

Another lucky item. Also, I leveled up to Level 5. Sooner or later, players will flock in this area. Since most player level are below level 5, I will be like a sore thumb in this place, making me popular which is bad. After picking up the bottles of the goo, littered on the ground, I made my escape.

Sure enough, not too long after I left the area, I saw five players killing the slimes. They consist of Swordsman, Ninja, Cleric, Magician and Berserker. Since they have a magician, they have no problem killing the slimes. I observed them for a while before I escaped the area. I can't let most of the players knew my existence until later parts of the game. Since the player ranking shows the players level, my name is already making a huge fuss in the player forums. I can access the forum while in the game so when I am sure that no one can see me or notice me, I opened the forum and sure enough, my name made a huge fuss.

-F*ck! Who is this player who leveled up like crazy? He must be cheating!

-Same! I knew how hard it is to level up. I even struggled to reach level one during my first time here but I never expected somebody did!

-It might be due to the fact that he must have killed higher leveled enemies, causing him to rack up exp!

- That's not possible, what the above said. Many of my pro friends tried to play that way and ended up back to level 0 from level 2! They said it is not possible without proper equipment!

- Yeah I agree. I can't say I am a pro, but the game made it hard for players to freely level up using that kind of method. The enemies in higher level hits like a hammer as they can drain your HP dry!

-then that guy must be cheating! Let's report it to the GM!

- Agreed!

-Agreed! +1

- Agreed+20!

...

Sure enough they have reported me. However, since I am not cheating, this move is just a waste of time. Not too long after, the GM replied to the forums about the situation which makes most players baffled.

-We received your notion against cheating about the leveling speed of the Player named Bladeheart, however, we don't see any cheating method at all and all are within the regulations of the game. Please refrain him from reporting again since he is leveling in a normal way and he didn't go to cheating. Thank You.

The answer of the GM made everyone riled up.

-Holy Sh*t! Then that means this guy is leveling without cheating? That is friggin fast!

-He must be a beta tester!

-Yeah! Maybe due to his first hand experience, he found a good place to farm experience! Let's find it and grind!

-Party with me!

-Me too!

Tetsuo

...

I grinned after reading the answer. I was not violating the leveling system and I didn't exploit a good farming spot. They might be looking for that farming spot to no avail. They will be idiots trying to find a nonexistent place.

I closed the game forum. Once I reach level 10, I can raid the first dungeon, Lesser Purgatory. This place gives me a nostalgic feeling since the game actually made the first online Solo Raid.

Solo raid is different from the usual raiding methods. It allows players to raid a dungeon alone. Dungeons consists of five difficulties, Normal, Hard, Hell, Ultra Hell and Abyss Mode. The higher the difficulty, the better the reward and the fewer the players present in the dungeon, the richer the rewards.

I still remembered doing solo raiding making me one of the first players to do solo dungeon raiding. I am not a solo player in the past, but now, I will be going to shock the world without building a guild myself. Also, I need to build my strength to topple the guilds that will try to destroy my way. Soon, once I will show my prowess, many guild will try to recruit or subdue me and learn my leveling secret. I won't let them. Let the enemies come and challenge me, I will beat everyone back to level 0!

Yep, sorry for the late update. Internet Connection being shitty lately, can't even watch a single episode of my favorite animes, or read manga, stuck playing This War of Mine: The Last Broadcast. Anyways, sorry for the late update once again.
