Chapter 3 - To Hell With Nathan!

Saturday

Queshia woke up excitedly, looking at her phone filled with Maverick's pictures that she got on his social media thinking, "Damn, he's the only guy on my gallery...well it's not like I really am a full blown lesbian, it's just that, I only get attracted to ladies, I have dressed like a guy ever since I was a little child, but I never dated a girl. Back when I was in primary and secondary schools, they said that I had a reputation wherein all the guys were afraid of me. I didn't even know until recently - last year on my birthday to be exact, when my friends asked boldly if the guys I go to school with are still afraid of me. Like...I really had no idea!...until I realized that...yeah...I remembered some of my friends told me that there were guys that said they liked me but were too scared to court me. Oh well, maybe I could try to be more feminine....next time....when I feel like I'm ready...hmm...oh! I'm here..." not realizing that she is already in front of the door for her week-awaited class.

Just as she entered the room, she stops and was hurt - a tiny little bit of prick through her heart, caused by the scene in front of her at that very moment.

"Hey Ibsen! Give me back my notebook!" said the girl, while so close to Maverick, trying to reach her notebook.

"What the f*ck Abby! Go away! This is mine, yours is with Charlie!" Maverick replied annoyed thinking how this b*tch is becoming so clingy after becoming his f*ck buddy and that this has to end soon before she starts to think that they could be in a committed relationship.

On the other hand, in Queshia's eyes, they were like a couple teasing each other, so she went and continued to sit on her designated chair, which was in front of Maverick. After taking a second glance at them, she realized that she had seen that girl. She remembered that she was one of the students on the class together with Kei and Maverick - where the 'horrible' stuttering, nerve breaking experience happened to Queshia. She also grasped that, that was a block section of Maverick, meaning, that touchy girl clinging onto Maverick, is a regular classmate of his.

With that in mind, she whispered talking to herself, "They look so close, so why didn't he ask her instead? Why did he have to ask me about the assignment? Could it be that he likes me?" while having a glimpse of hope in her eyes and didn't realize that her name was called for attendance.

"Bueno" the professor called out.

"Present ma'am!" Queshia replied quickly. And the roll-call continued.

As she was looking for her pen, she turned around to look for her bag, which was at the back of her chair, so she accidentally glanced at Maverick at the same time that his name was called! Making it look like that she was waiting for their professor to call out his name for her to look at him. She was thinking of this wide eyed while staring at Maverick's eyes. And she thought further that with his narcissistic attitude, he must be thinking exactly what she thought he would, and it's freaking embarrassing. She then immediately looked at the board in front.

"Present" Replied Maverick while questioningly looking at the person in front of him who suddenly looked at him when his name was called. And just like what Queshia thought, he smirked and thought that Queshia is so obvious. He is now pretty sure she likes him.

Maverick whispered to himself, "This is going to be easy. To hell with Nathan! I'd make her mine, and he can have her when I'm done with her."

Queshia spent the whole period scolding herself and never tried to look back anymore. Dismissal came, and thinking that her house is just nearby and doesn't have any appointment, she waited outside of the room to sketch and wait for her friends to come - those that had the afternoon schedule. She was drawing...his picture that she took from his social media account. She thought that she was the only one left outside - because clearly, who would want to stay at school after just 1 subject on a weekend - apparently, her. So, she was beyond shocked when Maverick approached behind her.

"Aaahhhh!!!" she screamed while she closed her notebook together with the small piece of paper where she was drawing.

"Hey, woah, it's just me, Maverick, remember me? I was one of your groupmates last week at this class, Queshia right?" he explained even though he confidently knows that she knows him. He clearly saw the picture she was drawing, which added to his arrogance.

"Uhm...yeah...ah...hi...what are you still even doing here?" she asked nervously contemplating if he saw who she was sketching.

"I just didn't feel like going home yet...it's still kind of crowded at the school gate by this time" he replied while looking at his watch.

"Okay..." she have nothing else to say...all she cares right now is if he's hearing her loud heartbeat and if he saw what she was doing.

"And you? What are you still doing here?" Maverick asked curiously, because obviously, with the way she got surprised, he knew that she could just draw him at home and was not sketching a picture of him intentionally for him to see.

"Just waiting for my friends to come, they have the afternoon class here...and it's still too hot to walk home...so yeah...that's it..." Queshia tried to answer casually.

"Oh, So you live nearby?" Maverick asked clearly remembering she rode the bus last week.

"Sort of...it's a 20-minute walk from here...you?" Queshia responded, slowly relaxing.

"2 hours away..." he replied casually.

They chatted for a while before he decided to go home and she then followed too, she was too happy to remember that she was waiting for her friends.

As she got home, she finished her sketch and was excited for the next week to come.
