Chapter 51 - Chapter 51

Irvene's point of view

We finished our tea and delicacies served but Headmaster Salford still didn't show up. I wonder what important thing he had to do.

"He's taking too long!" Meryll grunted.

"We'll wait one more time," I said.

Then I looked at Miss Sedina. I really felt uncomfortable seeing her standing while we're sitting on the couch. She just stood properly beside us and stared at nowhere. Suddenly, she turned her head towards us and seemed to feel my gaze.

"What can I do?" Miss Sedina said.

"A-ah, well, I'd like to ask if you can check Headmaster Salford and know how long he would take?" I asked.

Miss Sedina's face looked hesitant but still agreed. She bowed after leaving and said that she would be back shortly.

"Irvene, I hope that you aren't seeking trouble here," Meryll uttered.

My lips formed into a grin. I should see them no matter what happened. I stood up and told Meryll to follow.

"W-where are we going?" Meryll asked.

I didn't answer her question and only ran towards the way Miss Sedina walked. I couldn't help but be curious about what meeting those Headmasters were doing that was taking them so long.

The hallway she took had two separate ways at the end. Along with those ways, I could see two doors. I wonder where they're located.

Is it left or right?

Nonetheless, I took the right one.

"Irvene," Meryll whispered.

"Shh," I uttered.

When we walked halfway until the door opened. We immediately stopped our tracks and they did also, not expecting to see us near the door.

Headmaster Salford was in front while Headmaster Estrama followed suit. I could also see Miss Sedina at the back with her worried gaze. She might be scared of getting scolded after she left us alone.

"Hmm, Archmage Elvina," Headmaster Salford said.

"I was notified for your sudden visit in the middle of my meeting. It took us a while, so I hope that you'll understand why I can't meet you two immediately," he continued.

It seemed that my actions were unnecessary, nonetheless, our long wait was over. My gaze went toward Headmaster Estrama. We have a lot to talk about that just couldn't be sent to a letter.

"Well then, it's already afternoon and we're about to eat. I hereby invite Archmage Elvina and Miss Dellmira to our humble meal, and we'll discuss your visit along with that," Headmaster Salford said.

I didn't know that this day, we'd be eating a lot. It couldn't be helped.

"I accept your invitation. It's really a sudden visit for I have an important discussion to tell," I said.

"I agree," Meryll said.

Headmaster Salford and Headmaster Estrama looked towards each other and nodded.

"I'm very glad that Archmage Elvina would be dining with us. I'll lead our Archmage to our dining hall," he said.

Hmp, too much formality. His words sounded like he really approves of me as an Archmage. If I could guess, Headmaster Salford was only putting up an act.

We followed him to their dining hall which was not too far away. The huge two-way door opened and a grand long table with tasty food could be found inside.

I frowned slightly. There's too much elegance or I was just used to our family's simple yet elegant designs. I know that Meryll could also felt that. Nonetheless, I shouldn't mind it for now.

We entered the hall and Headmaster Salford sat at the center. The servant led me to the seat at the right side next to Headmaster Salford while Meryll was next to me.

Headmaster Estrama sat on the left side, facing me. Meanwhile, Miss Sedina left already. I began to think that they planned this after knowing that I suddenly visit here.

This place didn't have a single servant which was unusual. It was just the four of us. Furthermore, I could also sense that there's a magic barrier chanted to this dining hall.

"May you enjoy the feast," Headmaster Salford said.

After that, we started eating and began discussing what I came here for.

"In all honesty, I came here because of Headmaster Estrama," I said.

The noise created by the spoon and fork stopped and they looked at me.

"Hmm, you didn't send a letter so it seemed a serious matter," Headmaster Estrama said.

He didn't ask why we knew his location, might be thinking that Erill informed us which was true.

"Of course it is," I said.

"Can you tell us now? I've been curious since the time I'm informed that you went here," Headmaster Salford said.

I carefully placed down the glass of water on the table and started talking.

"It's about the Spirit Mining Company," I said.

I looked at Headmaster Estrama and waited if he wanted to discuss it in front of Headmaster Salford. I was just acting carefully because it wasn't a subject that could be said to anyone.

"Go on," Headmaster Estrama said.

"The power of that dark magic aura coming from that mining area, it smelled death and magic formed together into one," I said.

Although I saw both of them with their stunned expressions, their opinions differed.

"Archmage Elvina, if it was all, I advise that sending a letter could have been a lot easier. Time shouldn't be wasted," Headmaster Estrama said.

"Hmm, I guess it wasn't that all," Headmaster Salford said.

They looked at me, waiting for the rest that I would say. Even Meryll felt curious since she didn't have a clear understanding of my reason.

"I apologize for my unclearness of explanation. That wasn't all I want to say. The black diamonds, I somehow found out that it's quite useful for a necromancer class. Specifically, the one that's evil enough to use its powers," I said.

At this moment, my voice hardened and gripped my hands under the table. Somehow, Meryll was the calm one between us. It's just as I planned. If I said this to Meryll she would have attacked them already and I wouldn't let that happen without clear evidence.

Although Meryll's expression wasn't good since she's seeing Headmaster Estrama, it wasn't as worse as what I feel.

"Pardon us? What are you saying, Archmage Elvina?" Headmaster Estrama said.

His voice raised a little and failed to hide away his true self with calmness.

"I suggest that we should close that area for a few months. Further studies should be made around it and it was enough for a serious problem wasn't it? Also, this season wasn't great to visit the Red River although I planned to meet someone there and I would be gone from work for a few days," I said.

After hearing a place called Red River, his actions were clearly changing and was trying his best to calm down. On the other hand, he might not be admitting it.

I would make my patience longer once more and avoid killing anyone not worthy of my time.

I looked towards the others' expressions. Meryll was silently listening to me and Headmaster Salford maintained his calmness although I saw him flinched for a second after hearing what I said.

"We talked about this before, haven't we? We made a contract and if you didn't fix it, the Archmage wouldn't have the power to interfere with us!" Headmaster Estrama said.

"I didn't say that I wouldn't fix it. It was just I would study it after that. That wasn't included that I shouldn't interfere after I succeeded, isn't it?" I said.

His expression worsened even more.

I sighed. This would take long however I should

come out here with a good result.
