Chapter 5 - Oracle

Looks like I have no choice but to go to the village. It's going to be weird being around people after being shut in for so many years, but I've got to catch up with the princess and her knights and let them know I defeated the Dragon.

I took one last look at the gigantic cherry blossom tree as I headed down the hill and moved onto the dirt road to the West and began to walk the roughly two mile distance to town. I have no idea what the name of the town is but I'm going to find out very soon.

Before I knew it I got a few hundred meters outside of the village, and there was a line of people either on foot, riding a wagon or a carriage. I noticed people of different races: elves, dwarves, beastmen, and of course humans and many other races. But most importantly I saw the legendary cat and dog girls that I hoped and dreamed I would be able to see in this world! Oh fantasy! My dream has come true at last; I can finally die a happy man.

Suddenly, it was my turn to go through the gate. The two gate guards crossed their halberds and began to question me. "You there, the one with the strange colored hair and eyes, what business do you have in our village?" Okay time to drop a bombshell onto this duo. "Sorry for my appearance, but I am actually here to meet with the princess and her retinue. Princess Juliette awaits me in the village. If there isn't anything else, I need to enter the village post haste. I thank you for your cooperation."Oh yeah! I know I was smooth there! I totally nailed the noble and suave guy attitude right there. Time to see if these guys are going to get in my way, or let me do what I came here to do. "Very well you may pass, but know this, if it is found out that you have harmed or offended the princess in any way then your life is forfeit!"

The guards then proceeded to remove their halberds away from me and allowed me to finally enter the village. The other guard who was standing at the gate told me that the princess, and her knights could be found in Half-Life Inn. I then thanked the guard and proceeded to head through the village following the west road in. As I reached just about halfway through the village, I saw a sign in front of a large building that had a beautiful woman on one side, and a ancient old lady on the other side joined together as one body and the name Half-Life Inn underneath. It looks like this is the place. I then pushed the double doors in, and walked into a loud smokey environment full of boisterous drunk men and women of all kinds of races. Everybody looked up at me for a second, and seemed to have looks of surprise on their faces, then they all looked away and went back to their business. I let out a small sigh, and walked forward to the bar. I decided I would ask the Innkeeper where I could find the princess and her party.

"Hello my name is Alyster, and I am here to meet up with the princess and her party they are expecting me." The innkeeper was a large and very tall man; easily 7 feet tall and built like a linebacker. He gave me a condescending look, and then jerked his hand up into the air pointing up the stairs and said, "Yeah yeah, you can find them up on the second floor at the end of the hallway, the corner room on the left. You best not be starting any trouble now, you hear?" I shook my head and smiled, and then headed up the stairs. Following his directions, I found their room it was room 240. I knocked on the door and began to speak, "Princess Juliette and Knight-Captain Katrina, it's me, the guy with the white hair and purple eyes that you met in the woods. I'm here so we can talk." There was a sudden commotion, and the door was flung open.

I was expecting the Knight-Captain, but it was actually the princess! And her eyes are puffy, she looks like she's been crying. "You're alive, thank the Goddess! We were so worried about you! Right the dragon! Where did it flee to? We must notify the garrison here at Batis Village to prepare for an attack. We need to evacuate the citizens to the neighboring village of Skalhara. Wait why do you look like that? Tell me why do you laugh at me?!" I was laughing because I'm going to have to tell this princess I ended up defeating the black dragon. This is going to be hilarious. I can't wait to see her reaction. Let's get this over with! "Actually your highness I defeated the Dragon, in fact it was so easy I thought I was dreaming. I completely and utterly destroyed it, it didn't stand a chance against me."

Okay time to see what everybody's faces look like right now, ha ha ha! I looked into the princesses face and she looked like she went into shock. The Knight-Captain, and the rest of the knights had all of their jaws hanging open. Then they all screamed at the same time. "YOU KILLED IT?!" The princess grabbed my arm and dragged me into her room and shut the door. Breathing hard, she then hurriedly shoved me over to a chair, and plopped me down. "Tell me everything, and do not leave out a single detail!"

So, I ended up telling the princess and the knights everything that happened after they left, about how I got into the epic fight with the dragon, and his sad backstory, and how I got the legendary god rank amulet that protects me from anything related to the fire element and heat. I also told them I recovered all the corpses of the goblins and how the dragon disappeared after it died. Needless to say they were in shock and utter disbelief. That is until I showed them the amulet.

All of the girls eyes began to sparkle, and they looked at me like I was the greatest in the world. "Is it truly not possible for anyone else to wear this amulet other than you? If so, this is unfortunate because it is a very beautiful work of art, and would be great as a family heirloom. Oh well, there's nothing we can do and it rightfully belongs to you as your spoils of battle."

The princess's attitude suddenly changed, and she looked at me seriously and began to say, "Alyster I am going to reveal to you a very important piece of information. Four days ago my father the king received information that The High Priestess of the Goddess Jelia, received an oracle about the descent of the Legendary Savior of Humanity. She was told that the Savior would descend outside the village of Batis near the Forest of Dreams. It is my mission to find him. If it is possible I hope you would be able to cooperate with me in order to locate this man."

Well now, things just got really interesting. It is so blatantly obvious that they are talking about me, that I feel like laughing out loud right now. And so I do. "He's me ha ha ha! I was sent to this world by the Goddess Jelia. She's a super tall woman, with white skin, white hair, and purple eyes with shards of gold and blue in them. She sent me here as the first High Human in the world in order to help humans evolve to the next stage, and become High Humans. My plan is to join the Adventurers Guild and start at the lowest rank, and work my way up to the highest rank; gaining popularity and the favor of the people, and then I will reveal my identity as the savior." The princess collapsed to the ground in shock, and looked at me with eyes full of worship, but then she cleared her throat, and took on a very serious look again. She asked me, "Forgive me, but may I ask you to show me your status? It is a grave crime against humanity to falsely claim to be The Savior, as anyone can simply look at your status board and confirm it for themselves." I had no problem with this, but I believe it would be best to do this with the whole royal family present, as well as the high priestess.

"I have no problem showing you my status, but shouldn't we first get on our way? Look at me, you know humans always have matching hair and eye color right? Yet here I am with white hair and purple eyes. This is because I'm a High Human. The Goddess told me that your hair and eye color would change when you evolve. Men would become more handsome, and have great musculature, and women would have enhanced beauty and curvaceous bodies, and in the case of those past their prime, they'd regain their youth, the same as men."

All of the women present were suddenly digging their fingers into my arms, and shoulders as they looked at me with a feverish passion in their eyes. Looks like they took the bait, though the bait was actually the truth. The real reason I don't want to show them my status, is because I'm scared how monstrous it must be right now. I mean I got 5.000.000 exp times 10! That's 50.000.000 exp! I don't want them to look at me like a freak, and do the showing of and checking of my status will have to wait.

I looked at the beautiful women in front of me, and tried not to get the wrong idea. Even though they look like they're ready to ride me, I know it's because they heard me mention greater beauty, body, and perpetual youth. Oh well what can you do? Looks like I need to get these ladies back on track. "Everyone, everything I have told you is true, and I hereby take a soul oath in the name and presence of the Great Goddess Jelia. I so declare these words I spoke before you are the truth, so help me Goddess if I lie!" I said all this while putting my hands in prayer. I opened my eyes and looked at Princess Juliette, and Knight-Captain Katrina with a warm smile and said, "Let's be off to the capital to meet with your family and the high priestess!" I did a double take at the girls as I stood up, and was surprised to see all of them bawling their eyes out. "Uwwwwwaaaaaaah! It's true! You truly are The Legendary Savior! Here at last! Thank the Goddess Almighty you're here at last!" Princess Juliette hugged onto me very hard, and had a very beautiful smile on her face as she looked up to my eyes. I felt my heart go *dokun*, and I had to mentally smack myself. I don't even know this girls age! By the Goddess she'd better be 18! I looked towards the door and motioned to the girls.

"Let's get it girls!" They started laughing after I said this, and grabbed their things as we headed out the door. As we walked down the stairs, I looked over to the inkeep and gave him a big grin, and a thumbs up and said, "See ya boss! We're on our way, so you take care and remember the great name of Alyster Vancheltz! Remember this day, for you have been present at the birth of my legend!" Everyone in the bar started laughing hard as we walked out the door. Little did they know, that of this day, they would tell their children, and grandchildren of my legend.
