"What's wrong?" Mingyue asked from behind the curtains.
The physician hesitated.
"What are you doing? Answer her." the General spoke.
"Reporting to General, after cleaning up the wound on the Captain's leg, we found out a new injury around his thigh. The injury was too deep. It would be better if we stitch up this wound, but Physician Qin was not around in camp right now. The two of us are not experienced enough to stitch up this injury."
Xiao Xian's face darkened at this information. "What about the other physician?"
"Physician Yu is on leave, and you sent physician Lin to an errand two days ago."
Xiao Xian clenched his hand into a fist and felt his nails on his palm.
Even though they are part of the military physician, they were all his army. There are times when he would assign them to a few tasks.
"This is a military camp! How is it possible that none of the physicians around here know how to suture a wound!" The Young General said in anger. "How is it that none of you know how to stitch a wound?!"
The physicians around them lowered their head in cowering. None of them dared to say anything as they were afraid that the Young General might lash out on them.
Their camp was located near the capital. Because of that, a physician good enough to perform a surgical was not critical as they are in the borders where a war could start anytime.
"I'll do it," Mingyue turned to her brother.
She had been learning to suture injuries from her grandpa for years and had her practice countless of time when she followed him treating his patients.
In the Royal Infirmary, she was one of the physicians proficient in surgical despite her young age.
Xiao Xian stared at his sister and slowly, nodded to give her his approval.
"Young General, this might not be appropriate." the elderly physician spoke up.
He shot a look at the other physicians. "I'll take the responsibilities for everything. For now, you can assist my sister and maybe learn a thing or two from her."
The physician exchanged a look. None of them were satisfied with the arrangement.
They have heard that the Young General's sister is pretty good in medicine, but she was too young. They don't have the confidence that she could stitch up the Captain's injury. What if she ended up fainting upon seeing blood instead?
