Chapter 16 - He Might Turn Into a Criple

Her mind instantly blanked. Whatever her brother had said later had gone with the winds. The only thing in her mind was Yang Yun. Her eyes filled with worry.

At that moment, there was nothing that she could hope for except for the carriage to reach the camp soon so that she can see how severe his injury was.

Once the carriage stopped, Mingyue hastily exited and went towards the Infirmary with her brother and a group of soldiers escorting her.

The soldiers bowed when they arrived at a tent. They looked at their General and lifted the curtain door once the General gave them his permission to let her enter.

Mingyue hesitated for a second before she entered. The smell of herbal medicines and blood filled the air once she walked into the tent.

There was a thin partition screen in the tent. From where she stood, she could see three figures. One was lying on the bed, and two were attending him.

Mingyue stood behind the screen and turned to her brother. "Can I look at him?" she asked.

However worried she was over his condition, there was no way that she would ignore the customary reserve between men and women, especially in front of his brother's subordinates.

After all, she and Yang Yun were not married yet. Her brother

Xiao Xian glanced at his subordinates and immediately, a soldier went behind the partition screen.

"The Captain is decent," the soldier said when he returned to the General's side.

Mingyue watched her brother nodded and walked behind the screen.

The physicians shifted when they saw the Young General and his sister came in.

"Continue with your work," Jiang Xiao Xian stopped them from paying unnecessary regards. He shot a look at the two physicians and telling them to cooperate with his sister.

Her gaze never left the figure laying on the bed. Her eyes scanned for the injuries on his body, but because of the sheet covering his body, she couldn't see much except for the dried blood on his head.

Mingyue swallowed before she spoke. "Where is he injured? Tell me everything."

The young physician nodded. "The Captain was badly injured on his left leg, and there are a few small injuries all over his body."

Mingyue screened the room and saw a pile of black clothes on the ground. She knew that those were Yang Yun clothes and that the physician had cut them when they inspected his injuries.

Mingyue took a deep breath and forced herself to calm down. "What about the injury on his head?"

"The Captain bumped his head, but the injury didn't look as bad as his legs," the physician said.

The physicians knew the Young General's sister was knowledgeable about medicine and her relationship with the captain. But still... they could not hide their contempt at seeing a young girl trying to look at a man's body.

But in front of the Young General, they could not make any protest when the girl first entered the tent. They do not dare to leave her questions left unanswered.

"We decided to treat the injuries on his leg first. It has been a few days, and if it was left for a while longer, there is a possibility that he might turn into a cripple," the physician continued.
