The girls were really taking their time in the restroom. I looked at Connor and told him that I'll just go outside to get some fresh air... but truthfully I'm just scared at what they might do to my poor Rose.
I walked towards the restroom but then I suddenly felt a strong hand grasp my left shoulder. I turned around about to growl at whoever dared to touch me so carelessly but then I found that person to be my father.
"Son, I need to tell you something how's about we head to the balcony." He smiled but I knew it was forced, then I put on my own version of a fake smile.
"Sure thing dad." God, I really need to make this quick.
I followed him to the balcony, glancing back one to the restroom before continuing on.

"So dad what's this about?"
"Well son, I'm just here to inform you that I'm going to leave for a while along with your mother. Something urgent has come up and so we won't be coming back at least for a few years."
"What?!" I almost screamed.
"Shush." He said and then started to talk to me through the mind link only available for those with alpha blood in out pack.
'Don't worry of course you won't be left alone with your alpha duties. Beta John, his mate, and their son, Mark will help you get used to your responsibilities.'
'But dad... what's going on? Why that long?'
'Sigh, I guess I'll have to tell you. You are going to be alpha after all... well... A war might break out soon.'
'A what?!!!' god what the hell is going on? Why is this happening?! Is he just joking? It can't be real
'But dad... why?'
'Well since we, the Nix pack, though only a minor pack, we are still subbed under the night faction as a new pack who originated from the main Charon pack. It turns out the day faction packs are still angry about what the major packs Ganymede and Titan, did to their major pack Sirius.'
'... the what?...'
'...you didn't listen during the pack lessons did you?...'
'... I'm sorry.'
'Sigh I am not gonna repeat this again alright so you better keep this in your mind.'
'...' *I nod my head*
'Alright there are 11 major packs in the night faction. Miranda, the twin packs Phobos & Deimos, Ganymede, Titan, Triton, Charon (with main sub packs Nix and Hydra), Dysnomia, and lastly Haumea (with main sub packs Hi'iaka and Namaka). Ranked accordingly
Other sub packs of the different major pack I will no longer say, ask your teacher when you are able to.
Now 10 years ago packs Ganmyde and Titan, the once first and second strongest pack in our faction, attacked the strongest major pack of the opposing day faction, the Sirius pack. The names of the other packs of the day faction are unknown to us since we are of course, rival factions.
Though our faction obtained victory during the attack, they have sustained great casualties and thus greatly lowered our total strength. And though the day faction lost one major pack, they still remain strong and it scared me so to think it took our two strongest factions to defeat their one.
Two years after that a peace treaty was finally formed, but then... we were fooled, tricked. They stole information from us and thus placing us in an even more disadvantageous situation. With this, they took advantage of the royal family's trust; the main house... our Lunar pack was taken over.
Thankfully some guards had heard of their plan but only hours before the actual take over, they were able to evacuate but they had to leave all their belongings. They were able to save the most important documents from them but only that.
Sadly, the minor packs information was not saved. In half a year you will be noticed of an evacuation by the day faction officials and you will be asked to stay within a major pack. We do not expect them to bring another all-out attack for at least a year so we will be safe.
But when they finally do... it will be over. Only the Moon Goddess is left who can bring out a miracle to possibly give us back the power we once held, but that is only wishful thinking.
We'd be lucky to still be a pack after 5 years.'
'I never knew that... wait, why would they only attack after 1 year?'
'Well son, the Miranda pack and Royal Lunar pack had miraculously had an agreement with the day faction. But it's not really an agreement only a threat.'
'What? A threat of what?'
'Well son I'm sure you know about the great wolf Ulrika right?'

'*Sigh* You really are hopeless. Well Ulrika, the wolf ruler, has been prophesized by the great Witch to be coming of age in the next one year.'
'Ulrika, you mean that wolf with the silver fur and gold eyes in the painting in your office? But I thought Uncle Mark said she only reincarnates every 500 year. It has only been 430 years since then right?'
'Well yes but it seems there has been a miscalculation, or misunderstanding should I say.'
'A misunderstanding?'
'Yes, to purify a soul it usually needs 100 years before entering paradise. But the spirit / soul of a young wolf who dies in battle only needs about 60-70 years, this is because they spent less time on earth and thus need less time to become purified.
The wolf ruler Ulrika's soul, is a great existence since she is the being sent by the moon goddess herself to keep things in balance, and thus needs 500 years to purify and become ready to reincarnate. It turns out that the previous vessel of Ulrika, died at an age of only the early twenties. So'
'So she only needed 430 years!'
'432 to be exact.'
'Wow... I did not expect that. Wait... so why did they choose to attack after 1 year, why didn't they just stop since the wolf Ulrika is coming?'
'Well it's because they believe that if that one year has passed and Ulrika still hasn't come to stop them. that the moon goddess is allowing them to do so.'
'I see...'
'Well that's enough for now. Why don't you just have fun for the rest of the night? I hope you will find your mate, and don't worry, I believe your mate will be strong and be able to protect the pack along with you.'
'Thanks dad but... why didn't you just tell me this tomorrow?'
'Well... I won't be able to. Your mother and I will be leaving at midnight.'
Our mind link broke and I just ended up staring at him, my mouth agape but I couldn't utter a word.
They're leaving... There might be a war that would finish us off... and Ulrika is coming.
