Crigil knew to some degree his father was trying to manipulate him, but Crigil knew that this was the fastest way to try and surpass his father and take control of the clan. This was something he knew he would need to do soon and by taking control of the Oguls could accomplish this.
"Burgo go and take eight strong more Cenives and prepare them for the raid on the Oguls. They need to be properly armed with Spears with blunt ends. We need to just injure these Oguls. If we happen to kill them we won't be able to use them to take control of the Oguls as a whole. Also grab a couple Drions and they're Golems as they'll provide good defenses for us as we fight them." Burgo responded nodding furiously the entire time to each of Crigils orders.
"Crigil sir should we train the Drions and the Cenives together first before we go and preform this raid? It could prove beneficial as most Cenives are trained to kill immediately and not leave survivors." As Burgo said all this he hoped he wouldn't anger Crigil and suffer his wrath as well.
Crigil thought for a moment and responded, "Yes let's go on an do that. I'm really glad I had the idea for this training session to increase our odds of success!" Crigil said this and just shamelessly walked away to his hut to await further information from Burgo.
"Uhhhhhhhhhh what just happened?! He's shameless as always!" Burgo cried, but went ahead and went to gather the needed Cenives and Drions so they could begin the training exercises.
The next morning Crigil and Burgo we're standing before eight battle hardened Cenives and two Drion experts they had recruited along with their golems.
"Cenives and Drions here before me! Listen to my words as what we will be doing will bring the Alliance much glory as well as a new tribe into our Alliance! We will be training together on slightly less then lethal tactics in order to subdue a group of Oguls that should be traveling in a small party soon. We will be taking them captive and learning their language while having them captive. It is apparent that one of the traveling party is a sub leader of the Oguls and holds some authority. Due to this we believe they will have a strong defense and it won't be so easy to take these Oguls captive. In fact it will be even more difficult to fight while keeping them from dying. So let's begin this important training for the sake of the Cenives and the Alliance!!" As Crigil finished saying this they quickly grouped up in groups of five with one Drion each and proceeded to begin the training.
Crigil and Burgo each led one group and while training they learned the strengths and weaknesses of their groups. "Crigil sir we should switch groups and train like this until we are both all familiar with each other so we can preform our best." Burgo said this and Crigil responded in kind taking credit yet again for an intelligent idea of Burgos. All the while Fuhits spies watched from the background, noting these encounters between Crigil and Burgo.
Like this four days past and the training intensified each day but by the fourth day they were all bloody and exhausted. Crigil spoke up this time stating they all needed a good rest on the fifth day or their hard trained group would die from training before they could finish this training and take over the Oguls. The Drions were especially thankful for this. So the fifth day they all returned to their respective huts to rest up and continue the training afterwards.
On this fifth day Fuhit himself went to visit Burgo. "Burgo my boy it's good to see you again. I'd like to have some words with you about Crigil." Burgo immediately rose and happily greeted the clan leader. "Fuhit sir it's good to see you!! How can this loyal soldier of yours help you today!"
"Relax Burgo you can sit and continue resting. I know you've been hard at work training for a special mission and I plan on giving you some good news. I'm inspired by your intellect and cunning mind. I know you've long betrayed me and have been working hard to help Crigil take control of the clan."
Burgo quickly responded "Sir I would never think of doing such a thing! I could never harm the great clan leader!
"Burgo Burgo Burgo stop the grovelling and realize I respect your intelligence but if you continue to remain ignorant and lie to my face I'll just have you ripped apart and thrown to the feral beasts in our forest. I'm not in a mood to try and convince you at the moment. This is a one time offer. Work for me and I'll make you my direct general in charge of the troops that directly make up our army. You'll be the grand leader that allows us to take the disgusting mans head along with his wretched blue furred beasts. I just need you to hand those Oguls you and Crigil capture to me and all will be yours. If you decline this offer I'll just kill you now to prevent this information from getting back to Crigil and be sure I've always got eyes on you both." As Fuhit finished saying this he held an evil looking grin on his face. Burgo trembled in fear and knew he was going to die if he didn't directly agree to Fuhits demands.
"Sir I'd be honored to serve you and your army! It would be my absolute honor to bring you the Oguls as we will surely capture them for you master! Burgo went and kneeled before Fuhit but secretly thought to himself that this weak-minded leader would soon lose his position. It was up too him to make sure this happened even if he couldn't tell Crigil right away.
"Good my boy I'm happy we could come to an agreement. I always thought the way my son treated you was beneath you. Don't worry after you accomplish this easy mission my son won't be a trouble anymore and I'll be disposing of him. After all I do have one more Son and a Daughter that can assist me with my plans to finish the nameless ones too. Don't worry about Crigil though he deserves this after all the planning to betray me I can't let him go so easily." Fuhit grinned once more and had a glint in his eyes as he watched Crigil closely and saw him shiver. This was all he needed to see and he closed his eyes and left Burgos tent.
After Fuhit left Burgo collapsed onto the ground and panted heavily. He truly believed he was going to die in this situation and was extremely grateful he was allowed to live after this encounter. He had a new respect for the clan leader, but he knew Crigil was meant to be his true leader. He simply couldn't betray this man he revered more then anyone even if he was a shameless one. He was going to be the best shameless one no matter what and Burgo was going to make sure he accomplished this!
After today Burgo acted strangely around Crigil but Crigil simply brushed it off and continued to train for another four days with the Cenives and Drions and after the long nine days of training and resting and one more day to fully rest up they would soon set out to take command of the Oguls! These Oguls wouldn't know what hit them!
