"Fuhit sir do you truly believe this is wise to allow Crigil to be the one to take control of the Oguls? If Burgo doesn't follow through and hand them over to you he could pose a major threat to your power over the clan. He does have sympathetic Cenives on his side after all." As one of Fuhits trusted advisors said this to him Fuhit chuckled.
"It won't be so easy for Fuhit or his loyal friend Burgo to pull a fast one on me. I am more then aware of Burgos undying loyalty towards my shameless and betraying son Crigil. But it is just this loyalty that will be Crigils ultimate downfall." Fuhit leaned back into his chair after stating this fact like statement and relaxed knowing all was going according to plan.
Meanwhile Crigil and Burgo along with their troop of Cenives and Drions left the territory and begun to head out in order to start the first true motion of their plan. Burgo had created this plan which was too stake out the Oguls and watch the small troop that were moving around closely and when they were comfortable enough and had let their guards down they would strike to take control quick and easily. Afterwards Crigil would decipher some keys of the Oguls language and he would use this to communicate the next phase of the plan, but first thing first. Success had to be mandatory!
"Crigil sir The Oguls nest should be directly 400 meters north of our current location. We are more then close enough and in their regular territory so it would be wise to move with caution and stealth." Burgo stated this in a whispered speech being sure to put as much emphasis on the Cenive word for stealth as he could. While Burgo was confident their group could take a small party of Oguls even he knew they couldn't take on more then a small group as they would swarm when too close to the hive and continue to swarm until they were all dead and just pieces of flesh remained.
It was this knowledge that kept Burgo alive to this date as he had quite a few interactions with the Oguls when traversing this forest and he had to retreat more times then he was able to come out victorious. Due to these reasons Burgo was essential when fighting the Oguls as he had more experience then most Cenives when dealing with them and surviving.
"Sir if it comes down to it and we encounter a swarm I will hold it off with the others and you must escape with the Drions. You and the Drions are too important while we can always be replaced," Burgo said this as he put his fist to chest and held a deep glare towards Crigil.
Crigils eyes flashed and he spoke saying "Burgo it won't come to that and even as shameless as I am, yes I know you call me that secretly. I still could never leave my most trusted aid behind to die. We will either successfully complete this mission and return with a swarm of Oguls under our command or we will retreat and try and try again!" They will be ours he spoke valiantly for once and even moved the rest of the Cenives to feel for this possible leader one day.
"Now let's get in position to attack and capture the party of Oguls when they leave the hive so we can learn their language and take control! As Crigil said this his group retreated some along a path the Oguls regularly took and the Drions refueled the golems they commanded. The golems could be hidden underground in the rock and soil of the forest and as they were hidden the rest of the group staked out the surrounding areas hiding in the brush and trees. Hours passed as they waited silently and patiently for the party of the Oguls to come Into their trap but as hour after hour passed their was no indication of any Oguls coming this way. This was truly odd as the Oguls used this path quite frequently and their would normally be at least a few work parties traveling these paths every hour but now none roamed this pathway they had forged.
"Crigil sir perhaps we chose a bad path or the Oguls somehow know danger is lurking for them." Burgo stated this and was clueless why this strategy hadn't worked like it had before but he soon realized his later part of his statement would be accurate. The Cenives had a unique smell and the Oguls had picked up this smell and as a whole had detoured away from the path.
"Well Burgo what would you suggest we do? It certainly seems that they have no intention to use this pathway for now and it may be a waste to continue to wait here. Why don't we search for a while and see if we get lucky and encounter a troop of them?" Burgo just nodded his head and decided this was the next best step towards their goal along with Crigil and they proceeded to travel along the 400 to 500 meter areas that were away from the primary Ogul hive.
Once again hours passed and they failed to find any traces of any Ogul party's while searching for them. Nightfall was coming and things were going to get harder for the troop so Crigil made a call and they retreated a full 1000 meters from the hive which took another two hours as the Drions had to recharge the golems once again during this period. Crigil spoke to Burgo saying "We need to find them in the next day. If we don't find them soon it will take too long to find and capture the Oguls and give my father more time to plan against us. We cannot give that old bastard any leeway or we will fail!"
Just as he had said this a Drion came up to him. With their small snouts and beady eyes and small arms and legs they weren't very intimidating even if they held sharp teeth and dagger like claws. This Drion was fairly intelligent and could follow Cenive conversation and even speak a few Cenive words. It spoke to Crigil saying "Sir stinks. Oguls smell stink. Mud wash stink off. Mud cover stink. We capture Oguls with mud." After this before Crigil could be come enraged from being told he stunk the Drion dug a hole and escaped into the earth away from Crigils wrath.
"That dammed Drion might be onto something. Although I'll have to punish him later for telling me I stink but it's true it will depend on wether this works or not on how much punishment that Drion will receive. Burgo I want his name either way!" After Crigil said this he also ordered Burgo and the other Cenives to find mud and cover themselves as well as bring back a suitable amount for him to "bathe" in as well. Crigil hated this idea as he prided himself on his beautiful black and purple fur that had mixed and formed patterns on his body. In the Cenive world he was truly an attractive Cenive and could have any mate of his choosing. This mud bath felt absolutely degrading to one such as him but it was for the great good in his mind and it was all to take complete control of the Cenives and to rule them as he saw fit!
After this mud bath the Cenives moved in the cover of the night and trekked back down towards the Oguls main gathering and hunting grounds. Morning came and they we're amazed as they began seeing small parties of Oguls roam the forestland searching for food and building materials the Oguls needed to keep a safe living condition for their swarm. Now it was just time to wait as Crigil would strike the right party to get what he needed!
