"You run quite slow to what I'm used too… almost too human" his words weren't loud enough to be heard by Riku as his heart beat scattered in his chest, he could feel it wanting to pull out of his body.
Is this how he was going to die? After everything he'd been through!? Chased to his end by a possible serial killer!?
Looking around at the ground in front of him, he spotted a smashed bottle with a decent amount of shards.
The man was still proceeding to get closer so he had to think fast before his outline became clear in vision. Quickly without hesitation he grabbed the shard that was the length of his thumb to wrist, a solid 3cm in width.
He was a coward. Not a hero, nor a leader, not even a friend… he didn't have any of those. He'd always been alone… always looking out of the classroom window, hoping to escape reality.
"You really shouldn't do that boy" warned the man as his black coat trailed behind him.
|| Run ||
He couldn't! There was no where to go…! with a shaking hand he held the shard of glass like a knife in defensive mode. He had so many scars from past 'training', after all he knew almost about everything. But his mind couldn't think about his past right now as cold sweat had covered him head to toe.
Stopping short the man laughed at his shaking stance, he'd never seen a potential lead act like a wanna be ninja before. But then again, most of them were fast like one.
Running suddenly, the man's frame was now in a distance that he could finally see him clearly. He knew what he had to do but did he have the strength to execute it?
He had studied human anatomy, he knew weak points but that wasn't the issue. It was more or less facing a grown man the size of an elite body builder that was his problem. Following suit, he ran- head first towards the man with the shard of glass, his eyes looking at his neck and hoping for an opportunity at a fierce angle blow.
But he wasn't fucken god.
The ground has probably never tasted anything but bitter with regret as the man's meaty right hand slammed Riku's face into it. It was a miracle he hadn't died immediately on impact! But the waves upon waves of dizziness and sudden copper smell and taste was his snap back from a second of silence.
"Don't make this harder than it needs to be" through the dizziness and the skull shattering pain, his barely opened eye under the immediate swelling of his face looked up.
The barrel of a gun focus on him! This wasn't what he wanted to see. What had he even done? Who even was this guy? His intentions were now clear but…
"w-wh-ha-y…" he barely managed to croaked out as the man's boot pressed down further on his back. Definitely popping ribs- maybe more out of place as breathing became more difficult.
"This has been a first where your kind hasn't screamed and shouted bloody murder" The man said, as Riku was fading fast.
'your kind? What does that even mean…?'
At this point death seemed not so bad…

|| Wake up ||
Waking up was always the hardest to do, especially when you're shouting bloody murder and waking up the neighbours and causing your guardian to run to your aid in panic.
"You had a nightmare?" With one raised eyebrow, Vonic questioned Riku's sanity. Hell even he did, 'what the fuck kind of nightmare was that? Who even dreams of shit like that?'
Rubbing his eyes and running his hands through his black messed up hair stressfully, he finally looked at Riku. "Well in any case we should take you to get re-evaluated at the hospital. It might be related to your symptoms."
'Fuck… I really hate that place…' seeing Riku's unwillingness he sighed,
"It's really for your own health Riku, just bare with it for now"
"Yeah, I know" he reluctantly agreed but suddenly a sharp pain hit his head, clenching it immediately dropping his toast in the motion. Vonic was now looking suspiciously at Riku.
"You didn't go drinking or anything right?" 'This piece of-'
"Why the hell would I?" Vonic knew, he knew Riku smoked but he'd never really told him off for it. Riku was old enough to make his own choices. But drinking was a little different considering he was still partaking in his school education.
Riku never had school education so he was slightly older than those in his grade. But others didn't know that, they had to conceal his real age to allow him in a grade lower with the excuse he was repeating, this was so he wouldn't be excluded for it. Coming from a poor district and being adopted didn't help either but Vonic pulled strings for it. However it seemed like he really didn't have friends and He was worried Riku would fall into the wrong type of crowd.
'He already had one bad habit, what was to say he won't make more?' Vonic thought.
"I didn't drink, I assure you that old man. I think - I just have, a really bad migraine from the nightmare or something" he decided not to push it, besides if he really wanted to know. It wouldn't be that hard for him to figure it out, being a good detective came with perks when being a guardian.
The old man finally had time with Riku after being absent for the whole weekend. Which for some reason, he couldn't remember most of it?
'It's Monday… again…'
Looking out of the bus window, he saw people that looked fulfilled, some pissed- there were certain types of people on a Monday morning, that much was sure. He should know, he was one of them.
'Fuck Monday's.' He thought, as he got off the bus and walked towards the campus.
Walking into the classroom he noticed a desk filled with flowers and gifts?
'is it someone's birthday?-'
"Didn't you hear, Monoko was apart of the recent homicide" spoke a girl to his left as another gasped back.
"You mean the one in district 2?! Whoa, that's scary, it's getting worse these days… isn't the district government or police doing anything?-"
"Mr Spears, you are wanted in the staff office" 'Wait… huh?'
"I believe these are yours Mr Spears?" he'd walked all the way here thinking he was going to be asked to be the class president again. Something he wasn't interested nor cared about, but this… this was dangerous…
There in the teachers hand, was his medication…?!
'I never took my medication this morning…!?' how did he forget? It was most definitely the very first thing he did, was that the reason for his migraines…? But that wasn't the only thing that was making his stomach drop.
"You're very lucky, a man came by and handed them in. This medication it's called, Opiatenormorpha right? I wasn't aware you needed such a drug, I was quite surprised. But then again, thoughts must compile your mind with how brilliant it is." Pulling out a sheet of paper from Riku's documents he laughed. "I guess I didn't read all your files, it was written in here that you've taken this for a year- more now of course. You haven't experienced any issues have you?"
Should he respond? By chance was that nightmare really because he forgot to take his medication…? when had he even lost it…?
'What the hell is going on? It was a dream… wasn't it?-'
"Mr Spears-?" Mr Lee looked at Riku with a worried gaze, this student was always alone. The only real reasons he wanted him to take the student class president position was to establish a connection with his peers. He'd seen Riku always alone at lunch, in the library, outside even just reading under a tree. It was fine to have time alone but the more alone he was… The more the students became agitated by him.
'Especially considering he climbed the ranks so quickly'
They started to make up false statements and accusations saying he was too good for them and that's why he didn't have friends- or that he got in through connections. Some rumours were also about him being from a poor district… Mr Lee had heard a lot and even seen it first hand.
So much so he called in Saya Fu after hearing her blatant harsh remark to him outside of the office.
-
"Can you please try and get along with Mr Spears, Ms Fu, I'm worried for him. It seems people are making bias, false accusations and singling him out." Saya looked unimpressed with Mr Lee's request but she was a good kid that was reliable and he took advantage of that fact.
"Why? He's more than capable to stand up for himself" she huffed back, strong willed and fierce, definitely a great Kendo quality to have. But even Saya lacked something in order to get the very position he was offering Mr Spears, Empathy.
"Wouldn't you want a healthy rivalry with a fellow classmate for that position? Wouldn't it put you in a more higher light? People tend to want to vote with a better invested mindset to a suitable candidate when the time comes. Having no competition makes things more difficult no?" Mr Lee knew that if there was no rivalry, it wouldn't be unlikely that a class president would be chosen. 'People would rather team together than be lead on by one individual after all.'
Saya knew this, it was why this Class didn't have a president yet unlike others.
'But at least with that in mind she would uphold honour to keep it fair. A true swordsman soul.' Mr Lee thought smiling as Saya looked to finally understand.
"Fine" she sighed giving in. 'It's only for fairness' she thought as she left his office.

"-Sir, may I ask, do you know what the man looked like who handed these in?" Riku contemplated asking this, did he really want to know?
Confused by his sudden question, Mr Lee opened a draw proceeding to put back his documents and pull out a clip board. This clip board usually had time and day, maybe even a name of the person who found lost items. But mostly they would stay anonymous.
"I'm sorry, there's nothing here except the fact it was brought in Friday afternoon just after the Elites finished up." Grabbing the clipboard, he stared at it, lovely neat cursive writing told the date and time. "I do however think it might've been found by one of the Elite students?"
'It makes sense that an Elite might of found them… right? Or does it?Don't the Elites have limousines and other fancy transportation?'
He couldn't picture a rich student taking a bus…
He could've sworn one time an Elite student rode a carriage with majestic horses- but the females in his class were opportunistic so they'd make up anything to say they were there.
'Wait… why am I assuming I dropped them at the bus stop?' The nightmare had really done a number on him…
