Chapter 2 - | 1st Chapter

When I was young I was engrossed reading myths and legends. When my father was alive, he made sure that I get the education that was needed for me as an heiress. I came from a wealthy family, I have been supported with influential people and was adored my whole life. But life isn't perfect; no one can live in luxury without the struggles to keep things accordingly. I was the Mafia leader's eldest child. Given that I have an assassin's life meant things were bounded to be hard.

The life of an Assassin is far more complicated than what we came to see in movies. Danger follows even when we are sheltered in our safe havens. Guns and bullets greet us when we put our defenses down. And money is worshiped next to the Creator. We live with creeds, not prayers, but death lists and blood contracts. We have missions, not to preach but to kill. No one wished a life as cruel as ours, but the choice wasn't ours to make. This is a life route without escape. Time ticks like exploding bombs that shatter innocence and end lives in a blink.

I have reached the pinnacle of success as an assassin grandmaster, but my father's death was its payment. How he died? No one knows. Then tragedy has befallen upon us. Clan leaders were slaughtered one by one, sending us to an almost end. The enemy has taken hold of my mother, while at such tender age of 20, I was left to guard and guide the familia. But my creed has doomed the glimpse of a good future, they took my brother. My last breath of hope was gone, darkness enveloped me. The blinding lights were shut and I was left alone. Only to cherish the life that I once call mine. Good memories came in swift flashbacks as I closed my eyes. The pain has stopped, my tears went dry and emptiness fills my agonizing heart.

*** Flashback ***

On the strike of 10:00 the little girl was tucked into bed by her mother who was pregnant and her father who heavily doted on her. The child giggled as her parents pampered her with love and showered her with kisses. She grabbed her father's hand and passed a thick book, full of myths and legends that are suitable for bed time stories, her all-time favorite.

"Father, can you read me another bed time story?" her father picked the book up, and carefully place it where the three of them can share a good story. Her father patted her head and then he laid a gentle kiss on her forehead. He opened the book and started to read another historical story. Little did the little girl know that the stories her father read, were bound to be real.

*** The History of 10 Empires of Cultivation ***

There were 10 Empires that cultivators inhabit. The Empires were divided into two divisions: The East Hemisphere and the West Hemisphere.

The East Hemisphere was said to be dominant than that of the West, producing pureblood genius offspring that were bound to lead and nurture future generations. Empires belonging to this continent were; the Vampire empire, the Lycanthrope empire, the Dragon empire, the Demons and the Mermaid kingdoms.

While the East was pledged with the existence of sorcery and magic, they also have the powerless geniuses; the Serpentine Empire, the Mages, the Faeries, the Elves and the Humans. The difference between two divisions was heaven defying. And they coexist as a balance in the equilibrium, rendering peace and prosperity. But the dispute between walls cannot be changed.

The prophecy has once foretold that on the night of the blue moon, magic shall takeover and blood will shed. Lives are to be offered and no one can stop the rise of the 11th Empire. The Empire of Hybrids, 'hybrids' a genetic mutation that has been termed in regards with the discovery of betrayal and law oppositions made by the cultivators. Purebloods and nobility were tainted with sorcery. A rebellion was born, and new leaders ascended to the throne to change the wind of fate. It resorted to a misbalance in the equilibrium, and years of the golden age were wasted. Peace was nowhere reachable as each claim lives and deaths were inevitable.

Not long, 6 great leaders ascended to throne. They have discussed to conquer the trust of their people and restore the realms of cultivation. They have sworn out that they will never enter the boundaries between the Hemispheres to keep peace with the nations. The rulers of the East: Echidna – the ruler of Serpents (half human, half serpent), Phinleonix – the ruler of Mages (half mage, half elf) and Agartha – the ruler of Humans (half human, half faery). The rulers of the West: Dracotaur – (half human, half dragon), Absinthe (half human, half vampire) and Dhampyre – (half human, half lycan).

As the rulers led their people, the Demons created a way to rebel and bring harm to the peace that was long established. Being banned in the pits of hell Ravenry made a way to disguise himself and created trouble for both empires. The council has set arrangements for both East and West Hemispheres, to settle and resolve their problems with the demons. But fate was playful.

Emperor Dracotaur came to have fancied Echidna of the East, while Absinthe, the jealous woman who tried to steal Dracotaur came unsuccessful. She created a plan that almost ruined them all, but her drunken state made Dhampyre take advantage of her a dragged her to his harem. Bearing him a child, that they've only used as a tool to conquer power within the territories of the West.

Dracotaur was dishonored by his people and was sent to the East Hemisphere along with the rest of the council. But he had lived a great life with the love of his life and their only child. Through the years, the waters were once again tested. The demons were successful at swindling the truth with lies. A war appeared knocking on the doorstep of the Hemispheres, as hell rejoiced. The West has evaded Hell successfully, leaving one old soul to retell their end. But the East sneaked an attack and started a new war.

Death ended the regime of 6 great rulers. Was it the end? No it was far from it. The Prince of the West was cursed by that old demon soul, to have no peace until he ends the bloodline of the East and come as a victor. While the Princess lived her life to train as a good match for the prince, but when eyes meet by chances, things ended tragically.

"Why?" the princess asked as she held the prince who bathed in his own blood, eyes held no anger but it pains him to see the woman he loved the most was someone who's destined to end his life.

"I love you…" a smile bloomed from the Prince's lips and blood slipped from his mouth. Tears he held dearly pooled like no end. The princess closed his eyes with her hand, and she laid him gently and took his sword.

"Demon! Let's end this!" she fought the demons back and became the victor, but this had caused her life. At last she can now be with the man she loved, as she wished to be reborn again and be with him in another life once more. The epitome of their pure love was unmatched, and the heavens gave them another chance.

*** End of Flashback ***

Pain enveloped me again and air passed through my lungs. My heart's beat waved its presence as a deafening sound crushed me. Water dripped on my forehead as a burning sensation warmed my head.

"Where is my daughter!" a thundering voice awakened my slumber.

"His highness, the princess strictly forbids us from entering her chambers since yesterday, please your majesty, we beg you not to enter" A wailing came from the side of the door. As a assassin my senses is enough to determine clear vision of what's around me even when my eyes are closed.

"Nonsense! Open her chambers!" the man reasoned once more and with that my eyes fluttered open. But unfamiliarity greeted me, where am I?

Flashes of memories appeared in my vision making me curl. Whose memory is this? Why am I here? And whose body do I inhabit!
