Chapter 6 - | 5th Chapter

The wind made the curtains flutter, as the burning rays of the sun peaked through the open windows. The birds chirp joyously, as footsteps of the servants rushed behind these walls. A bearable pain made everything stern. I feel cold within. But where am I?

I lifted an arm, feeling so heavy, like tons of rice sacks pile on top of me. Exhaustion dragged my body down, unable to move, unable to switch and throat as dry as sand. How come I am still alive? Yesterday's event was... Wait! What have they done to me!

"Aaah, it's good to see his majesty awake again" a crackling voice made my body tremble, then a burning sensation erupted from my chest. A wave of deep hunger was calling within, and my primal needs intensified.

"What did you do to me?" My voice cracked as I spoke back, tears swelled up. Hunger... All I could think is crave, a craving that I haven't experienced since before.

"Aaah, his Highness doesn't remember, the opening of the prophecy was made 3 days ago" the wicked man chuckled

"Prophecy! You said 3 days ago? Am I hearing right--"

"Very well, his majesty has been sleeping for the past 3 days, turning 4 tonight."

My whole world stopped when I heard his response. I need to get out of here! I regained balance and sit up straight as soon as I forced myself to.

"Such beautiful red eyes your majesty, a little bit more and you'll say roar to everyone! Ahahahaha" the wicked old man cackled like a crazy bastard! My line of sight was different from before, specs of dust are visible to me, even the tiniest details were magnified. I can feel leap of bounds stronger than ever, my senses can't compare, its even sharper and more sensitive. My strength was highly incomparable, but right now I feel so weak and hungry.

My line of sight shifted to the men in front of me, I can see through their cultivation levels without trying hard. Their blood was different from the human bloodstream flow, definitely not humans huh! Then my ears pickup the sound of their hearts' beat, as loud as the drums played in a festival. How can such vicious creatures possess a heart? A heart as dark as ink, very evil indeed!

Their veins are showing, then I suddenly feel my thirst deepening. My throat is so dry, and I need to sip something. I feel like drinking from their bloodstream-- wait! What is happening to me!

"I see the plan was working accordingly! The prince must be confused, and I think he's really really hungry!" The wicked man signalled two of his subordinates to bring forth a golden cup. A smirk was plastered on their faces, as the wicked man told them to step back and watch. When he opened the seal of the lead, my insides felt excited! Like a meal was going to be deliciously served, then I suddenly smelled blood!

My body has a different reaction towards it, something that I've never experienced my whole life. I'm salivating without knowing why! What's wrong with my body! It seems like it's involuntarily moving to get the cup! NO!!!

"Ah, his majesty, here we offer you a good meal. We hope you enjoy" his smirk turned into a sinister smile. But before I knew what's happening, my hands already reach the cup, and a metallic sweet taste filled my mouth. My conscience died down, why does it feel so great that I'm drinking blood? Within a minute I've already finished the whole cup, but I wasn't satisfied. I feel like it's not enough.

With a new found strength, I need to finish everyone whose residing here, spare no one, destroy the area, leave no traces and escape. I need to be on my way to the Eastlands, I still have to complete my marriage before I start looking for possible answers! It's really impossible, they can't turn me into a vampire within 3 nights, they simply just don't have the qualifications and capability to. I need to move now.

"His Highness might be in a hurry to go back, but I'm afraid that is not possible to do so"

"You'll never know when you'll die" I whispered, as I immediately run towards them. My nails grew longer like wolf nails, and sharper like knives. My speed surpassed my body's previous strength. They tried to retaliate, but they've never expected my strength, which made me dumbfounded for a little while. I held the wicked man's neck. Then his men held their swords and attempted to slice me off. I flew a couple steps backwards.

"You can't kill me! Or you'll regret this!" The old man choked within my furious grasp.

"You're noisy" then I snapped his neck in half, blood split everywhere as I detached his head from his body. A man who's as weak as him cannot be my match. He might have known something right from the start but I can't just sit idly await when he'll retell a story. Things never worked that way. Three cultivators run towards me, the killing intent was too thick that it's somehow sickening.

My hands and feet worked on its own accord, like a puppet in a show and I still don't know how strong I am because I haven't tried exploring my new strength. One by one they fell to the floor, lifeless. I collected their rings and crushed all of 'em to dust. My fingers traced the ink coloured blood that was flowing from their cuts. I lifted my fingers and tasted it. Not bad. I suppose sucking them dry would help me.

Hours of work paid off. It's already night time, now I'm standing at an old abandoned manor that was eaten by fire. I wonder who sent them to capture me and awaken the real beast that was residing in me since I was young. It was no wonder my parents never treated me like how they treat my siblings, and now I fully understand why of all, I was the one sent to travel to the East. I guess they have been expecting all of this for awhile now, even my death.

It's sad that the truth is that it won't be that easy to get rid of me. Now it's time to be on my way and meet my bride, if she's of no use I'll immediately dispatch her and battle the throne against her brothers. I guess acquiring two of the highest Imperial Kingdoms from opposite side of the divisions won't be that bad.
