We travelled a lot over the next months. We were at first very surprised and, well, truthfully, disapproving of Sam (the younger) and his sudden abduction of the little girl who was in the wagon with us.
She was now calm, as she was turned towards the back as she watched our progress. Later, we had learned that she was actually Sam's, for a lack of a better word for it, his girlfriend.
Soon I got to know these brothers. they too came from an intriguing family. They, too, had a family Legend.
it was said that in their family a secret was passed down from generation to generation. It was their most well-guarded secret. their family were a sort of Nomads. they did not give importance to ancestry or roots. They were scattered abroad. they felt that spreading roots and being grounded in one area will make it easier for others to steal their secrets.
Naturally, I was intrigued. Of all the people I could me on my journey,I met these particular Brothers. on we went and journey. In their travels, Dean (the elder) And I drew close. we built a relationship. He, and like his brother, was mesmerized by my long straight silver hair. Sam, on the other hand, had eyes only for his girlfriend, which was understandable.
it was later when Dean and I were married that he told me their family Secret. it was the secret of all secrets. The boon and the desire of all men. Secret of immortality.
years passed and we continue to remain unchanged. We became ageless. For years Dean and I thought it was but to not bear any children. To just enjoy our uncomplicated, Carefree life, and so for many years we did.
decades past and we entered into a new millennium. The age of Technology. Then became an intrapreneur who caters to the star-studded. Sam, gave his darling a small illustrious shop.
Now, with immortality in their pockets, I would have expected Sam to allow Ellen (the girl) to grow a bit more into a woman before he allows her to stop aging; but she remained 14 years old. the age she was when Sam married her. now during our time, 14 maybe already a woman but with the millennium and the changing of the times, the relationship maybe outcasted. They look more like brother and sister, rather than man and wife. Dean agreed with my opinion but thought better than to interfere with the Affairs of his brother.
and so they continued to live as they were. Ellen blossomed into a beautiful woman although she maintained in the body of a girl, she most certainly Moves Like a Woman.
but far from dwelling on their problems, I later found that I had problems of my own. after Decades of birth control and prevention, I learned that I had gotten pregnant. little did I know that that was not my only problem.
contrary to what I had first anticipated, Dean greeted the news with enthusiasm. He was okay with it. After decades of just us, he was ready to become a father. I was happy for him and for the baby, but I could feel that this was no ordinary pregnancy. now in my family, regularly, even with the Legends the shrouded my family's heritage, all of us who are normal human beings with exemption that all our females had silver hair. later I will realize that the dragons protection (our forefather) was not simply to give our female descendants silver hair but so much more.
and so my pregnancy proceeded as planned. Everything progressed beautifully. Dean bought me a house just outside the city, with the lake as part of the grounds. it wasn't big, but just enough.
