open to either my forefathers gift or simply my body, I was once again found pregnant. Like the previous times, they came two months early. this time, I had not simply lain to eggs nor1 but 4. owing to their size and their number, they were delivered misshapen and underaged. unlike their Brothers, they did not hatch a day after they were delivered. No, it seems that my body heat were not enough to mature them, I needed an outside source.
I set up a metal plated heater and charrec so the metal plates were red hot. gritting my teeth, I embraced the eggs and held up the heater on to my leg. It had the desired effect. I was able to channel the heat into the embrace and increase my temperature, but it also seared my skin and caused a great deal of pain. I could not bear it much longer and had soon passed out.
by the time I came to, Sam's son had found me passed out. overprotective of his mother, he was worried. When I open my arms to show the eggs he understood, and allowed me to continue. he stayed with me for a while to help out and to comfort me. I learned that even though the hot metal plate caused great deal of pain and seared my skin, it took me about a minute to heal from the burn.
on the third day, Sam's son was asleep nearby and I was getting ready to hit the eggs when unexpectedly, I found them in the living room between the eggs and Sam's son. I was shocked silent. I couldn't move. His face was a Mass of emotions. I could see the most predominant of which was anger.
before I could do anything, he had somehow picked up Sam's son and threw him in the nearby lake and as I saw him step towards the eggs, determination etched into his face I leapt into instant action. I covered the eggs with my body, protecting them. as I did so, my torso also landed on the red-hot metal plate. My eyes watered with pain but I would not let him harm my eggs babe no matter who the father, they were still my children. he looked at me disdainfully, boys to tear me off when I heard more than saw Sam's Son emerg from the water. His mighty dragon wings flapping in the air.
there I saw in his eyes, by the way he looked at the hovering dragon that was not his son and the eggs I clutched to my breast, that he knew who's they were. It was not hard to put two and two together. He and Sam were the only ones. he had not been home after he fathered his two sons. Of course, I could not deny it over the overwhelming evidence in front of him.
Sam's son return to human form after I demanded that he not hurt his Father's brother. He held off and demanded that his uncle leave and not return to this house.
A day or two later after excruciating reburning, The eggs hatched. They too were blue-eyed and dark-haired like their brothers. I surmised that maybe all the eggs that I shall bear will always bear males and that to preserve our line I have to do it the normal way. only the female line carries gift our forefather gave and with me our line shall end.
I did not wish to compound my already many sins. Dean May have left me but I was still his wife. So I continued in my solitary life. Soon, my new hatchlings were fully grown and had flown from the nest. they too left and I had stayed alone at home once again, with no protection.
