It was dark, I was lying on something that felt like ice, but it was soft like a blanket. It was cold or was it me who was cold. Voices encircled me, but I didn't recognize any of them.
I felt strong arms lift me out of the water. My eyes opened for a brief second to see the most mesmerizing royal blue eyes I'd ever seen, on a face I didn't recognize. Who is this person? I thought.
Suddenly, I'm lying in a field of Lumi flowers, I get up and to my surprise see their faces. My parents. I run to them but then I'm in my house again. I see myself sitting at the old kitchen table, my parents telling me of their business trip for the day. I heard the me at the table say, "I'll manage for today don't worry. I'll call the clinic and tell them I won't be coming in today." Then they turn and walk towards the front door.
"Wait!" I cried out to them. "Don't leave! Don't leave her all alone!" I run towards them trying to stop them, but my arms fly through them tears are now running down my cheek. My parents turn around and say directly to me, "well, aren't you coming too?" Then they faded into ash. The room is black again then I hear the all too familiar scream that haunts my nightmares.
I open my eyes, but the light is shining into them, so I look to my right instead. The room was white with large windows and more white curtains. The sheets on the bed that I was on were also white, bright white. There was a woman that I didn't know sitting in a chair beside me looking intensely out the windows. I sat up quickly.
"Where am I?" I managed to croak out, my throat was dry.
"I see you are awake," the woman in the chair said. "I'm sorry to disturb you after you woke up, but I need answers now. So, I'm going to ask you some questions and you will answer me and answer truthfully," She ordered with hostility.
I was puzzled, who was this woman and why was she so mad?
"Ma'am can you tell me where I am?" I asked politely.
"Only if you tell me who you work for and why you were with my son"
"Ma'am I-I." I struggled for words. I was still shaken up from the nightmare I just had.
"You what? Can't tell me? Or maybe it was your plan gone wrong to win my brothers affection." Her voice was raising almost to a shout.
"Y-your brother?" I forced out, "I don't understand. What plan?" I was freaking out tears were starting to form in my eyes.
"Don't play dumb with me!"
"I-I r-really d-don't know what y-y-you're talking about" I whispered burying my face in a pillow. My stutter flowed out, I didn't even try to stop it. I looked up, the woman was staring intimidatingly at me. Her eyes were the same blue as the person I saw earlier but hers weren't as kind and reassuring as the ones on the other person. And her hair was a grassy green that was pulled back into a braided bun. She was wearing a long, pure white dress that clashed with the woman's hasty attitude.
Suddenly the door to the room busted open and a girl with long light brown hair and piercing green eyes ran in, followed by a boy with hair as dark as midnight and the same blue eyes as the woman. Time seemed to stop, his eyes, those were the eyes I saw.
"Wait!" He yelled "Yuno! It's not what you think!" He yelled breathing heavily. "She didn't try to assassinate Andere!"
"What!" Both me and Yuno yelled in unison.
Then it all started coming back to me. The crest on the tree, the soil caving in beneath me, the hand disappearing beneath the water, jumping into the water only to discover I was standing in a surge, diving in and saving the person, dragging them out of the water, but passing out in the water. This must be the boy's family I thought.
"Wait the boy, is he okay?" I asked trembling, realizing that I passed out before I could give him CPR.
"Don't worry." The girl said walking over to me and putting her hand on my shaking one. "When we last saw him which was just now, he was having his lunch with his twin sister. He even asked about you or more like the 'cooper haired girl in the water.'" She smiled at me.
"He's just fine thanks to you." The boy said.
"Thanks to her?" Asked the woman they call Yuno. "I'll explain everything on our walk back to see him, Princess." The girl said guiding Yuno to the door.
"P-p-princess?" I exclaim, falling backwards on the bed. Just my luck I've floated into the company of all people, royalty! I thought.
"And Adrin, I'll call the doctor and tell her the myst- I mean the girl is awake and stay with her we don't want any other disasters to happen." The girl ordered the boy before walking out the door.
"Yes ma'am," he said sarcastically before turning towards me who was still struggling to get up.
"Are you ok?" He asked me.
"yeah." I replied fixing myself into a sitting position again a spell of dizziness takes over. Feeling like I would throw up any minute I laid my head back on the fluffy pillow.
"Oh, I found this at the beach! I believe this is yours." He said pulling my black hair ribbon out of his pocket and placing it in my hand.
"Yeah, its mine," I replied preparing to braid my silky rose brown hair, that now reached my mid back, (courtesy of the surge stealing my hair ribbon).
"Thanks."
"No, thank you, for saving my nephew, if you weren't there and I would never be able to live with myself if…" He trailed off.
"It was nothing. I just did what anyone else would," I replied giving the boy a small smile of reassurance.
I didn't say anything else. I didn't want to talk to anyone about right now. Luckily for me the doctor came through the doors before it got too awkward. She smiled, "I see our mystery girl is awake! How are you feeling?" She asked looking her clipboard.
"Well, besides the dizziness I'm feeling great!" I replied. (physically.)
"And for the hospital records, what is your name?"
"My name, is Reah Amber."
