That day, My first experience in the outer world, when I woke up, it was a sunny day, with a bit of clouds, and the birds were singing outside, after waking up, I knew what I had to do
So I went ahead, and started wearing the gear I had bought yesterday.
Then I went downstairs, and started packing the food and water that I will take with me, all I was thinking about until now was the thoughts of excitement from what I am about to get myself into!,
and after finishing packing my needs, I said goodbye to my family and went on my way, to the kingdom's gates.
While on my way to the kingdom's gates, I was reading my quest journal, rechecking all the quests I accepted.
one of quests was to collect a few [Daylight Herbs]x10, should be easy enough, since it grows around the roots of the old trees, and this forest is ancient, and the pay was 80G, easy enough, then there was the quest of collecting a few [Arcane Mushroom]x15, these are actually in fact, a plain red mushrooms in the daylight, but around the sunset, they turn into the blue color, that's the only difference between them and the regular mushrooms, and that is because of their magical energies, so they help with keeping the mind clean, actually, master magicians recommend eating it once a week for beginners, so they can keep a healthy mind while studying and casting spells, the pay for this quest was 200G
But the most eye catching quest was the collection of [Mythical Gemstones]x21, according to the knowledge I attained from my years of reading, these gemstones only grows under special stones, called the "Hyrule stones", they can be identified by the red and golden herbs that grow on them, and they can be only found in areas with high magical concentrations, the reward for that quest was [Enchanted Gemstone (WindBlast)]x1 , These enchanted gemstones actually serve as a magic focus, for casting spells!, and these magical stones are really expensive, we are talking here about 10,000G!.
By this point, I could clearly see the gates of the kingdom in distance, so i closed my journal and putted it back into my bag, the sight of countless merchant carts walking down the road never ceases to amaze me.
And after a few minutes of walking, I finally reached the gates, in there, there was a lot of guards stationed, so I approached them to ask about exiting the kingdom, but he told me he's not in charge, and I should look for the noble in charge of this place, and after a lot of searching I met Sir Walter, a noble in charge of the gates.
-"Hello, are you Sir Walter?, I was directed by the guards of the gate to meet you."
-"Yes, I am Sir Walter, and I am in charge of the kingdom's gates, how may I help you?"
-"Sir Walter, I want to exit the kingdom, as an adventurer, to start my journey."
-"Sure thing, Do you have a license?"
-"Yeah,I just got it yesterday."
-"Do you mind me taking a look at it?"
-"Sure" I said, while searching my bag for the license.
-"Here is my license" I said, after giving him my license.
-"Hmm, alright, but you are only permitted to go to the local forests, based on the rank of this license" he said, while inspecting my license, and after that, he gave it back to me.
-"That is my destination"
-"Alright, good luck." after he said that, he gave the guards some sign from his post, then he said "you may go now".
-"Thank you Sir, I will go on my way now." I said, after that, I started walking in the direction of the gates, and the guards let me through.
And I went on my way, I didn't mention it before, but I did also do a little bit of geography study about our local area, the outer of the kingdom is split into 3 different sections, each section have its own treasures and dangers.
The first section, is actually the section I am going into, its the green lush forests section, it mostly contain green trees and herbs, and the area with the least magical concentration, compared to the other sections of course, and most of the dangers in it comes from the wild animals in there, such as poisonous snakes, wild boars, but deeper into the forest, there are actually tigers and a few other predators!, so I should be careful not to go deeper.
And as i finally went to the entrance of the forests, I met a group of 6 adventurers, I heard them talking about how they spent 3 entire days camping there, day and night, but couldn't even find any [Mythical Gemstone].
That had me actually worrying, a group of 6 people, spent 6 days camping in the forest, and not finding even one gemstone, I know that the forest is big, but something about this seems off, since the "High magical concentration areas" are very common in a forest with tons of spirits like that.
Anyway, I started making my way into the forest, my first task is to collect all the [Daylight herbs] from the roots and trunks of old trees, and each tree had 3 herbs, so I kept cutting them from the ground using my blade, and putting them inside my pocket, and in a few minutes, I was done with that quest.
The second quest was about the [Arcane Mushrooms], and since it wasn't sunset yet, I decided to go and look for the [Mythical Gemstones], an area with high, where would an area like that would be?.
Then it hit me, I could see spirits everywhere, spirits flying in the sky at the town, spirits at the fields in the village, but until now, I didn't see any spirit at all in the forests, and since spirits are attracted to the magical energies, maybe I should look for a spirit?.
So I kept walking around the forest, looking for any kind of spirits for a few minutes, and eventually after what I think was 1 hour, I saw a few spirits, like 3 around a cave, that cave had around it a some vines, but none were gold or red, so I went closer to inspect it, the vines were actually blocking the entrance to the caves, so I held my blade, and started slicing the vines, I kept slicing and slicing, until I entered the cave.
The sight inside of the cave was strangely beautiful, there were countless stones with a mix of golden and red vines on top of them, but what was breathtaking, was that the cave actually had a fountain of glowing blue water in the middle of it the spirits were floating around that fountain, dancing together, the sight was truly something to see!
But I didn't waste any time, I started lifting the "Hyrune stones", and they revealed an orange, 4 sided diamond shaped crystals, these were the [Mythical Gemstones], each "Hyrune stone" had about 5 or 6 crystals like that, and after collecting the [Mythical Gemstones]x21, I prepared to leave.
Only to be interrupted by a few green spirits!, and they talk too!
-"HOLD, what do you think you are doing" 3 of them said in the same time!"
-"Uhhh...... H-Hi I w-" I said, while my face was like if I saw a ghost.
-"Return the Stones of Nature to their original places NOW!"
-"o-oh, you mean t-these?, b-but I need them!"
-"We said return them Now!, or we would make you by -" While they were saying, they got interrupted by another spirit.
-"Hey wait, we do need help to kill the snakes inside the palace, that thing have been eating many of us!, and look at his size!" the other spirit said.
-"A snake?!, and a palace?" I said.
-"Yes, there have been a big snake, inside the palace, he ate many of us, and we need to regain that palace back, please, if you get rid of it, we would allow you to take these stones with you"
In the middle of my amazement, about the fact that these things can talk, I snapped out of it by that question, and by the looks of it, I had no choice but to comply, since I don't know how many exactly are there of these spirits, and I don't know their abilities, and maybe taking their favour would be a good idea, in case of future requests of the same stones.
-"Alright, I agree, can you show me where it is?" I said
-"Follow us, young man, and make sure to hold your blade steady." all the four spirits said in the same time, while flying in the same formation, and in the same direction, so I started following them.
-"I mean how big can a "Big snake" be for these spirits, they are basically a bunch of tiny lights!, surely its a small snake that I can stab with my blade and kill in a few seconds." I said, inside my head.
-"Its just past that door, be careful" they said, then disappeared in the blink of eye.
That was a no snake...
What I saw was, a bald, green, skinny, humanoid figure, with teeth that are dropping blood, barely clothed, there was no mistaking it, its a goblin, but me opening the door already made enough sound for it to determine my location and see me, so I stand in a fighting stance, holding my sword steady, and pointed at it, and I say:
-"So, you are that "Giant snake" that the spirits spoke of"
And I waited for a reply, but nothing came out of its mouth but some noises and yells that made no sense.
Out of all the sudden, that thing jumped into me, opening its mouth, and having its claws pointed at me, but thanks to my stance, I easily slashed into it when it got closer, easily seperating its hands from the rest of its body, making it fall on its back, and while yelling in pain, I don't waste the chance and deliver another slash into its neck, seperating its head off its body.
After that sight of blood tarnished around, I follow the way back to the Entrance of the fountain, telling the four fairies that I successfully killed that "Giant snake" that they were afraid of, and they allowed me to exit the fountain.
Looking at the orange sky after exiting the fountain, I realized that its already sunset!
Since the time of the sunset is pretty limited, I started running around, looking for any blue mushrooms and hoping they are actually [Arcane Mushroom], I did pick around a 20 [Arcane Mushroom] barely in the time of sunset, but regardless, I completed all my tasks for today, So I started walking, until I exit the forest, before the darkness of the sky.
And in the night, with the moon in the sky, and the countless starts, all shining, I was making my way to back to the kingdom's walls, with a bag full of goods, The walk is about 1 hour, from the forest to the kingdom, but of course, I was walking with my sword in hand, keeping my eyes for any possible monster or bandit encounters, after all, I have had my first blood today, taking the soul of another creature.
