While I was walking down the road, to the kingdom, the spirits really did make quite the show!, some were flying straight to the skies, and some of the other were coming down from the sky at great speeds to the ground, or maybe they were not weird at all, and I just don't know how they behave, but I will never know for sure, but something for sure, this made it harder to focus on my way, after all, I don't want to get ambushed in my way.
After approximately 50 minutes, I started seeing the kingdom's gates, I was relieved, so I put my sword again in its sheath, and continued walking toward the gates.
But then, "Something" happened, I stopped walking after seeing what happened, the said spirits stopped moving suddenly, actually everything stopped moving!, I couldn't feel of any wind blowing at all!
So, I started running towards the kingdom's gates, but it never got closer!
I eventually stopped because I felt tired, I was pretty sure that I kept running for at least a mile!, but nothing moved!
"I am Everywhere"
Someone was saying that, or rather something at the very moment I stopped running
I looked left and right, in front of me, and behind me, and even looked into the sky above me!, trying to determine the sound's location.
but when I looked in front of me again, I saw a black figure, he was the same size as a human, but he was wearing a black robe, holding something like a scale with his right hand.
but suddenly, that being disappeared! , I tried looking for him, left and right, but couldn't find it in any direction, except when I looked in front of me again, I could see him again, but this time he's closer, so I reacted quickly and pulled my sword out of its sheath.
-"Put your sword down, I won't hurt you" he said, but I got no reason to trust such a thing.
-"And if I refuse?" I said, while holding my sword steady at it.
-"That was an order" he said, and suddenly, my sword phased through my hands, and dropped on the ground!
I was about to start running away from such a thing, as obviously, I got no chance at this, but then it replied
-"Didn't you try to run earlier? it's useless" he said
I froze in my place after these words, then he started talking again
-"I am the one who sees with no eyes, I have come here to to enlighten you, about this world, and the will of its inhabitants.
Listen closely, a lot is about to change in this world, a lot of innocent people will die, a disaster that will start all of this is happening right below our feets as we speak."he said
-"What do you mean!" I replied
-"You did hear of the rumors of the "walking corpses"?, didn't you?" he said
The "walking corpses" rumors? I was taken back, these rumors that speak of the people who turn into walking corpses until they go "underground", after some voices whispers into their head, and never come back.
-"You seem to know of them, hundreds of people have already fell for that entity underground, It devoured all their souls, in order to power up.
That entity, is about to come to the surface very soon, and will ravage the whole kingdom.
Your family, your friends, your ruler, all will die.
The "Nobles" you worship as heroes, will be powerless, and won't be able to stop such a threat." he said
What? what is he talking about??, an entity? underground? and people will die?
-"What do you mean??!" I replied, but he only ignored me.
-"Souls, are the very culmination of your being, everyone have a soul, even that entity, and normally
even if you kill it, burn it, it's soul will be still there, waiting for revival.
But however, the only one, who can end a soul, and perish it for good, is called a "Soul Breaker", normally, there is only one soul breaker every few generations, and they usually have a strong connection to the ethereal world on their own, and they can see and interact with the spirits and the souls like if it was nothing, while other people would need tremendous efforts to even see them."
Wait, see them? and interact with them? a soul breaker?? does he mean me?!
-"Only a soul breaker would be able to stop this coming disaster." he says, while also now, holding a strange blue, shining orb, that floats in his hand.
-"You can see this, right?, this is the soul of that goblin from today's morning, when you killed it, it's soul was flaming with anger, so here's the deal." after saying that, he resurrected the goblin, but something about it was different.
-"This goblin, even if you killed it, will keep getting resurrected over and over, until you break his soul, but every time he resurrects, he will get much stronger, so you have to break his soul, before he breaks your body" he said.
-"What?, but you said you won't hurt me!" I yelled
-"I won't, but he might, now, my "Soul Breaker", draw your blade, and show me your skills." he said, then disappeared.
The said skinny, green, goblin, from today's morning, now have a sword, and actually gained a few muscles!
When I held my blade pointed at him, he started running at me, this time faster! and I did the same
When we were In eachother's melee range, he took the first swing, and I easily blocked, his swing strength was weak, so It was easy, then I pulled off a counter attack, taking off the arm holding the sword with it, the goblin again growls in pain, before I severed his neck again, and he died.
Then I saw that blue sphere again, hovering over his body, that must be his soul!, My tries with interacting with it a failed, after a minute or two, he came back to life, with a totally new body!.
Now, he gained enough weight similar to humans, and was still wielding a blade, his slashes were now hard to block, and more unpredictable, but fearing from him to injury me, I went straight to the head, and severed it again, and he died again.
That sphere hovered over his body again, this time, I tried slashing it around with my sword, holding it with my hands, nothing worked, and it happened again.
He came back to life again, this time, his body actually became 2 times taller than a human, and the muscles on his arm, similar to the brawlers back at the adventurer's guild, could be visibly seen, and he now wields a giant wooden club, there is no way I can block his strikes anymore!, in fact, one strike would be enough to kill me.
Despite his physical strength, that wooden club was heavy, so his swings were actually slower, but became more accurate, so my only option was to dodge his strikes, and keep my distance, and look for an opening.
I actually also kept my distance, not wanting to kill him, because of what happened, each time he die, he comes back, much more stronger, If I don't break his soul, I will die, just like what that man said.
So, I know that his soul is that blue shining orb, since that is what the man referred to as "The goblin's soul"
but it does radiate energy, maybe I should try to cut it based on the energy patterns?, That was my best bet.
My plan was to play bait and run, meaning that I had to bait him into striking, then dodge, and attack, that was really scary, as I mentioned before, one strike from that big club would be fatal, so I waited, he started running at me, and swing, and I dodge, we kept repeating this, and a few swings from him actually touched my leather vest, so it got damaged, until he swinged a pretty far one one, I took that opening, and went into his legs and slashed them both, making him drop on the spot, then again, severed his head, by the neck.
And again, his soul appeared, this time, I closed my eyes, trying to feel his soul's energy, and cut based on that.
Again, it did not work, and after a few failed tries, he began resurrecting again, this time, as a big goblin monster, taller than humans by like 3 times, wielding a large war axe, and he had much more weight and muscles.
He was the most faster in this state, literally jumping around, and I could tell how easy it was to swing that battle axe, instead of the large wooden club from before, but it was not sharp, he actually landed on me a few strikes while I am dodging this time, this was really bad for me
And if I don't figure out how to deal with his soul, I will surely get killed the next time he resurrects.
So I was running from him, he wasn't still faster than me, but had much more stamina it seemed, so I was limited by my stamina, If I don't make a plan by that time, I will die.
Think, Think, Think! what did that man say, the souls, the entity, the disaster, the Nobles, nothing is helping!

He mentioned something about an entity devouring the souls of other people.
Devour a soul, can I devour his soul? will that work?, I don't know, but I am almost running out of breath, I need to finish this right now!
And I stopped, turned back and looked at the goblin again, he was about to slash, I predicted the direction of that slash, easily dodging it, Then I went straight for his legs again, slashing them down, he fell down again, but this time, I drove my sword right into his heart, and he died, again his soul came back, and I sensed its energy, this time however, I extended my hands to it, while closing my eyes
Since the souls are made of energy, then in order to devour them, Should I absorp that energy? I focused, and suddenly, all of the soul's energy started flowing into my body, until there was nothing left of it, except the giant goblin's body.
-"Well done" I heard the black figure's voice
-"You have figured out how to break souls, and absorb them, very interesting" he said
-"The wheels of the fate have just started to spin again, the last time they did, was before 2000 years."
-"Well then, my dear "Soul Breaker" I hope you stay alive long enough, because our paths will cross together again, it's fated to do that, after all." he said
Then suddenly everything started moving again, I could feel the wind howling, and touching my body, and I could see the spirits moving again, and finally, so I started running, and I did reach the gates, with a lot of wounds.
