" When will it end!" Deal was losing his mind.
Three weeks he had been seeing a hazy blur. He thought something would change but nothing did.
The only thing that changed was odd situations that happened where he was poked, burnt, shocked and tickled.
Afterward, it was a variety of different substances being dropped on him that led him to feel different sensations.
One liquid made him energized while another would cause a weird itch to grow.
The variety kept changing and he was starting to lose it.
The only good that came of it all was when this one time. This weird meat was thrown into Deal's prison as he calls it.
The meat contained a very large amount of energy but not only that. It contained blood.
Deal wasn't sure how he knew but the thing that fell onto him was slowly absorbed by his slimy body when it got hungry and Deal discovered it was meat.
This led him to realize he really was a slime but one that was contained and tested on.
It didn't take a genius to figure any of this out but the blood was odd. It assimilated to his body and he started to feel odd ever since.
Blood is a unique thing. It contains DNA. It contains a vast amount of information on whoever it belonged to. However, to recreate the creature is a highly demanding task.
The wonders of his new body were only shown clearly to Deal as the tests were reaching the three-digit range.
He almost felt glad for himself as he believed he was one of the lucky few to ever get transferred into an easy testing ground for his new bodies abilities. That was until he realized the doctor might be like over level 9000 and can crush you into a paste. Not saying he wasn't already.
"Regardless, I have to get better control from this assimilation feature. If only the god damn shocks stopped coming in disrupting the efforts at random times!" Deal said through gritted slime.
Another week passed and Deal finally managed to make some headway into his newfound body.
The tests conducted were getting rarer but they were also more complicated to deal with. Stronger solutions were produced between different blood and substances.
The only thing Deal did was focusing on absorbing everything. Nonstop for the entire week. What surprised him rather was that he never got tired. Itchy yes, oh god, yes. Other than the ungodly torture, Deal learned to differentiate different substances even when they were mixed in varying ratios.
The ratios were too hard to guess but each substance started revealing a unique taste or feeling to Deal. The more he focused on using this natural ability, the more his body adapted to making its sensors more fine-tuned.
It held an exciting feeling in Deal's heart when he noticed how it kept getting easier to so. The better he got, the more he learned he could do. Most of it just turned into nutrients for his body but even Theodore didn't realize what kind of unique body he created. His years of research were perverse. The leftover materials started assimilating with Deals body and started strengthening everything.
A typical slime was for all-purposes an extremely resistant water bubble. A dog could fight one, maybe not a pack of them as some are unique but that was their average individual strength.
Deal, on the other hand, was reaching levels of what condensing 1000 slimes into one would look like.
Theodore just wanted test results and thinking it was a newborn spirit, simply believed like any other researcher would that it was a blank slate.
Dangerous habits can be created from the masses expectations.
For Deal, however, it was a fortunate one.
His assimilation led him to start creating a network inside his body. The leftover nutrients were threaded into nerves that spidered out. It was started to gain shape of what electrical signals powering the brain resembled.
"Unbelievable, It evolved! Hahaha!" Theodore couldn't help but gasp and shout when he saw the small network the slime had created. "Why is it connecting everything together like that?" The question irked Theodore's scientific mind to rampage with new testing ideas.
He left immediately to grab a research book and started observing everything.
Deal was aware of the Doctor, the language was starting to become discernible as his senses were getting better.
The network he created was because he hated the fact that he was feeling muddle-headed for so long. He hated and loved the sadistic doctor. The nutrients were good quality but the torture for it was making him lose it.
The veiny structure that looked like lightning bolts rampaging within his mind was actually a crystallized network for his mind.
Slimes can literally feel every single one of their senses from every part of their body and all that at the same time. It was easy for slimes to handle but for human consciousness, it was torture, especially with the bonus that there was REAL torture included.
The crystallized network formed from the various sources allowed him to process them into a crystallization of his mind. He didn't really understand it but it felt instinctual, it was like the feeling when he concentrated on assimilating whatever was thrown into him.
"I almost feel like some sort of dumpster..." The moodiness came and went due to the captivity but he persevered through it.
