An entire month or so passed in captivity.
If it wasn't for the tasks he created in his mind, Deal would have probably gone insane. There was a bright side to his captivity though.
After repeated attempts and many sleepless nights, to actually no sleep at all.
His new body looked vastly different as he changed colors to a slightly darker blue and within was a shiny yet mystical looking network that resembled a brain.
This allowed him to focus more easily, process information faster and even finally start understanding Theodore the sadistic #$%.
His body had no other changes but one lucky attempt at creating eyes led to his sensing abilities to boost which finally allowed some semblance of sight. He wasn't stranded, considering he had the mad scientist backing his absurd body.
"Resistance to shock, burn, stun, pierce, slash and finally energy canon, what a wonderful month...#$%#$%#%!" Deal was hardly convinced he was alive, the sight was really a redeeming factor in his situation.
Finally, after a month's time. Theodore was mumbling while writing a letter to his backer, some high placed person he thought.
Theodore was leaving to have a meeting to showcase his findings.
"Shit, my existence will be known!" His first worry was about his own little jelly behind. He realized what happened after a month of time and some amazing learning abilities from his "evolution".
"I got to get out while he's away... why do I get dropped off in some BS prison break scenario?" Deal muttered but as usual, it was just gurgling.
He decided to escape while the old freak was out. His plan, however, consisted of much more interesting activities.
The moment the doctor left the next morning, Deal was wide awake like he has been for the past 720 hours.
"You bastard... Hehehehe! You shall know what wrath truly is!" Deal roared in *muffled* anger.
Deal had been kept in a cylindrical container spanning no more than twice his size. The top covered by this glass lid as if he was god damn rice.
The injustice Deal had felt this past month was enough to traumatize people. Deal endured until this very moment but the thought of revenge was priceless.
He escaped the lid easily by mustering the extra effort. Considering the density of his "skin" he was sure he would be a rubber bullet. He failed. Promising attempts later, he shot out of the container and was very much free to wrestle this entire lab by himself. "The fool insulted me!" Deal gurgled as he was absorbing every piece of equipment, paper, utility, clothes, anything, and everything.
His amazing acting in fooling the doctor into believing he was a mindless creation which led to being enclosed like a rice bun successfully granted Deal, the official title "Bystander #7"
"Gets" Deal said in an oddly cute gurgle. The gurgle issue on another hand has been haunting his days whilst longing for a normal voice grew.
Deal had spent the entire day, cleaning out Theodore's office, lab, and personal living space. The only room left untouched was the bathroom.
He wasn't going to eat the man's toothbrush. He smugly admitted to having a bottom line.
Satisfied he looked back at the lab while facing the door. "The bastard will enjoy this." Deal declared as he immediately slipped through the door crack.
Outside was an entirely different scene.
"What... what's this place?" Deal mumbled as his senses let him look around approximately two meters. He saw the most lushes of trees, colored like verdant green and misty purple. A few wildflowers and rocks littered the ground around the complex.
It looked like a small shack but it was actually an underground lab, which didn't surprise Deal due to the number of stairs he climbed.
He ventured not too far away, to a few rocks and simply dug into it as though borrowing a new cave. The technique was simply the assimilation technique he learned. He started to consider it the inherent memories of the creatures. It allowed him to break apart rock at a micro-level.
Satisfyingly seated a few dozen meters in the ground. He started digesting all the things he ate. He was surprised he could store so much but he started thinking this may be his affinity to compression laws.
The different nutrients, bits, and pieces were all processed after a few hours compacting the crystal brain network even further. The benefits were still not all known nor the consequences but this network provided immense help to his status.
Deal wasn't sure what the future of this will be but he knew that now was time to plan.
The arguments he had with himself of what direction to head in and what he can do were put aside and the new plan of "Figure it out later" became his motto as the headache was not needed for a poor torture victim.
His so-called "planning session" was interrupted abruptly as he knew that Theodore was back. The nutrients and solutions Theodore had within his lab were amazing. They boosted Deal by a good 50% in two days of the progress made in one month allowing him massive improvements in vision, hearing, and computing.
"It seems he is with a few others, hmmm. Hehehe..." If Deal could make expressions, his mouth would have looked extremely mischievous.
Shortly after hearing them go down to the lab, Deal heard what he wanted.
"ROOOOOOOOOOOOAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRR!! WHO #$%^#$% DID THIS!?" Theodore blew his loudest bellow.
He couldn't believe it one bit. The moment he came in while introducing the possibilities of his successful experiment, the door opens to a completely clean room.
'While I wasn't always tidy, it didn't mean I should deserve this!' Theodore thought to himself in pain and anger.
The rooms were all swept clean, no even a speck of dust remains. Everything was gone. Aside from the tables and counters, even the drawers were emptied. Years without theft only to find his greatest achievement was taken and with every detailed note from it as well.
Theodore's rage lasted so long yet ended abruptly as his backer was furious from having made the trip just to get a slap in the face from his subordinate. Theodore was not prepared for what came with disappointing this man.
Theodore was beaten before the backer left in fumes.
"Sigh"
Theodore couldn't help but sigh at his luck.
