Chapter 3 - Birthday

Jin was displeased with the vagueness of his mother's answer, but he decided to let it go for now either way. It was then that he realized what he had just heard.

"Fugaku? Fugaku... Fugaku!"

Fugaku Uchiha! Sasuke's father in the original story! memories about the legendary 'Wicked Eye' that raised two of the shinobi world's best ever ninjas started to flood his brain like a raging sea. Fugaku was one of Jin's all-time favorite characters, possessing the Mangekyō-Sharingan in the anime and just being a total badass of a ninja in general.

While still on that train of thought, Jin started to look forward to the day where he, too, would awaken his very own Sharingan.

"Was I born in the same generation as the mighty Fugaku? I can't believe this."

All the excitement aside, Jin started to put the pieces together in that little brain of his. This piece of news would then mean that he was in the era where the first great shinobi world war had ended not even a year prior. Meaning that Third Hokage had just been elected at the young age of 22.

"Nice, now I know where I stand on the timeline... Although I am quite nervous about potentially having to fight in the second and third great shinobi World wars. Whatever, that's for later."

That anxiety was short-lived though, as the excitement for his birthday replaced it almost instantly. This would be the first time he celebrated his birthday, ever.

"I can't wait to meet Fugaku... And that guy Hideki, I can't help but wonder who on earth he is."

Later that day, the happy family of three made their way to the clan head's courtyard. When they got there, they noticed that nearly the whole clan had come to celebrate the special occasion. The atmosphere was very good, and the mood was light. Jin couldn't help but feel at home right off the bat.

This was a happy occasion, and with the recent death of Kagami Uchiha along with the formation of the Konoha police, the clan needed something to relax. The Birthday came at a perfect time.

"Inari! How are you doing brother! I haven't seen you in while!"

Suddenly, a cheery voice was heard from one of the corners in the courtyard.

"Goro! I'm doing great thank you, how are your wife and Fugaku?"

The man talking to Inari was none other than Fugaku's dad, and Sasuke's grandfather. A character that was never really mentioned in the original story, so Jin had no idea who he was at first. He was the current clan-head of the Uchihas.

Looking at him, instead of the lady-killer vibe his dad gave off, he looked more menacing and had a strong, firm gaze. The gaze of a leader, and someone who had survived on the battlefield.

Slowly but surely, something was changing in Jin's personality, the previous him would have definitely been intimidated by this sort of character. Now he only felt admiration and a strong desire for strength. He swore to himself mentally that he would become the greatest shinobi to have ever lived.

Jin saw the little boy that Goro was carrying around, and they made eye contact. It was him, he had the classic Fugaku expression, a deep frown. He turned around and ignored Jin.

"Hahahaha, so he was always such a jerk... I want to be friends with him as soon as possible."

Inari and Goro had just seen the interaction between their sons when Jin burst out laughing. Hearing him, they couldn't help but laugh too.

"Seems like these two will become close real fast, am I right Inari?"

"My thoughts exactly."

They both smiled.

As everyone was talking to each other, Jin listened in on conversations and looked around. He didn't recognize a single clan member, which led him to be frustrated about the fact that Kishimoto never really showcased this era's Uchihas as much as he should have.

Suddenly, Jin remembered something, and grabbed on his mother's shirt, getting her attention.

"Yes, Jin?"

He opened his mouth and said with his baby-voice:

"Hideki..."

Hanami smiled and walked towards where an Uchiha woman was standing, talking to her peers. She looked tired, and her eyes were puffy, so people were more gentle around her. After waiting for her to finish her conversation, Hanami called out.

"Ayaka..."

"Hanami!"

When Ayaka turned around and saw Hanami, She looked a bit more cheerful than before, and they quickly started talking about how being mothers was a beautiful thing. While they were blabbering on, Jin looked towards Ayaka's arms and he saw she also was carrying a baby, one that looked oddly similar to Shisui. So he tugged on his mother again and spoke.

"Hideki?"

Hanami nodded and brought him closer. He indeed looked like Shisui, so... Maybe it was his father? It aligned well with the timeline... oh, whatever, that's for the future anyway. For now, he was just happy to have so many people that he could call family.

The night went by quickly and the clan dispersed after eating together until they were all satisfied.

—————————————————————

Three years went by like a breeze, and Jin was now close to being four years old. The clan labeled him as their young genius, as he had the intellect of an adult, and had already started training in the Uchiha clan's taijutsu, excelling at it and beating genin level ninjas in the clan at it.

Goro, the clan head, praised him for his work ethic since he was always studying or training his body. He was proud of this generation's prospects since Jin wasn't the only one excelling.

Although not as bright or strong as Jin, Fugaku was smarter than the average child his age and had an indomitable will, which was a trait that would help him grow in the future. Closely behind the two, Hideki, Kagami's son, was also very promising.

The Uchiha were in high spirits, as the future was looking bright for their clan.

Jin was happier than he had ever been, with parents that loved him dearly. He truly felt like he was in heaven, So he started to grow more and more attached to his clan.

But little did he know, that something would ruin this perfect paradise on his fourth birthday. Something that he would never forget for the rest of his life.
