Chapter 9 - Hiruzen

(AN: Hey people. I wanted to make one thing clear. Danzo just lost his sensei(Tobirama), and Hiruzen became Hokage instead of him. Right now, he's not very happy, meaning that his resentment for the Uchiha is fresh and burning. That's why he's so angry during the small competition. I hope it makes sense!)

"It's him!"

As the girls in the crowd screamed, Hiruzen and Danzo watched in anticipation. They had heard about this kid, who had manifested his Sharingan at just five years of age.

Sarutobi knew for a fact that Madara had awakened his at seven. Making Jin the youngest known Uchiha to awaken the red eyes.

Looking at Jin, Danzo could see Madara's towering figure overlapping his body. He remembered the domineering presence of that man, and couldn't help but tremble. In his head, he was starting to think of ways to get rid of him.

'He... He must be eliminated. For the village's sake.'

Unaware of all this, Jin calmly walked onto the podium. His long, black hair fluttering in the wind and his neck hidden by the traditional Uchiha shirt. Bowing in respect, he started preparing hand-seals.

"It's the same technique... Let's see his level."

Suddenly, before Jin could perform the great fireball, three kids appeared out of nowhere, grabbing hold of him.

Jin was concentrated on his technique, so he wasn't able to react in time, easily getting caught.

Before anyone could say anything, the third kid, while the other two pinned Jin down, threw a punch at his face. All of the envy he was feeling was channeled into that fist.

"You filthy Uchiha! Get out of the village alrea... dy..."

Before he could finish his sentence, Jin's body disappeared in a puff of smoke. This confused the three kids, causing them to look around in panic.

All of the kids were shocked, not knowing what happened. Some, from the noble clans, had an idea... But the rest thought that Jin had been punched so hard he turned into smoke.

While the kids started a commotion, the teachers present all had their eyes wide open. They dared not to believe what they'd just seen. Hiruzen had a smile on his face, while Danzo's forehead wrinkled.

"The Shadow-clone jutsu... At such a young age. I have never heard of such a feat before."

Holding his pipe, Sarutobi looked straight at Hideki and Fugaku. As soon as he laid his eyes on them, they also disappeared. This caused some girls to cry in horror.

Suddenly, Hiruzen laughed so loudly that the kids quieted down.

"Hahaha! They really played us!"

Hiruzen realized that he, the Third Hokage, had been fooled by a bunch of five-year-olds. This amused him to no end and prompted him to laugh like he hadn't in a while. Danzo just looked pissed off.

"Tch. All this for nothing."

Danzo clicked his tongue before getting up and leaving. This whole thing had left a bitter taste in his mouth.

Realizing that it had actually happened, the teachers looked at each other in disbelief. Were they really able to teach these kids?

----------------------------------------------

Jin was practicing his shuriken-throwing techniques together with his cousins, deep in the forest bordering the Uchiha complex, when he noticed that his clone had been taken out.

The memories soon rushed in, and he quickly understood what happened.

'Crap. Now I'm going to get it... Ah! Didn't this happen in the original series?'

Thinking back on it, Jin remembered this had actually happened to none other than Itachi Uchiha. Because of this, he had graduated from the academy a year early.

'Will the same happen to me? How could I forget this detail! Wait... If they found me out, that means...'

Realizing that the Hokage was there, Jin stopped his training and ran to his cousins, warning them of the situation.

"Quick, disable your clones! There's a chance they won't catch you!"

Hearing this, both of them heeded his words and canceled the technique. When their memories came in, they felt like they dodged a bullet. For now.

"Lets... Continue training. The school day was almost over anyway...."

The three had somewhat downcast expressions as they resumed their training, hitting bullseye after bullseye.

----------------------------------------------

Later that day.

Inside the Hokage tower, Hiruzen, alongside Danzo, Koharu, and Homura[1], sat before a few of the academy instructors.

In their hands were reports of Jin's progress at the academy.

"Hokage-sama... Aside from the Bunshin, Shunshin, Kawarimi, and Henge, which are the requirement to graduate from the academy, Jin, Fugaku and Hideki Uchiha have mastered the Kage-Bunshin... A Kinjutsu."

"They excel in all other subjects and have been studying graduation-year materials on their own. After much discussion, the academy board does not see any reason to keep them any longer than a year."

Hearing this, Hiruzen frowned.

"But they're just freshmen. And on the younger-side too."

"It doesn't matter. The village needs all of the help it can get, especially after the loss of Nidaime."

Danzo did not hold back his opinion.

Understanding the situation, Hiruzen looked at the others sitting next to him for confirmation. Receiving their approval, he gave the go-ahead. Those three would graduate after a year.

"Tell them to receive approval from their parents first. If they don't say yes, there's nothing we can do."

----------------------------------------------------

After receiving a paper their parents had to sign, The three Uchiha went back to their respective houses. Fugaku and Hideki were excited, looking to surprise their parents. Jin just felt happy they did not get in trouble.

'I'll become a ninja sooner than I thought... Am I really ready for this?'

Discarding those thoughts, Jin made his way to his mother's room. sliding the door open, he saw her in the bed, looking uncomfortable. Next to her, a young girl was changing the wet towel on her head.

"Ichika-san, thank you for your help. I'll take over from now, thank you very much."

"Ah, Jin-san, thank you. See you tomorrow."

"See you."

After the girl left, Jin sat by his mother's side, holding her hand. Ever since the day he had enrolled in the academy, she had been in this state and hadn't woken up since.

The clan had hired many doctors to come and diagnose her, and none knew what happened. It was something they had never seen before. Hanami was perfectly fine but remained in comatose.

"I hope you get better soon, mom... I love you, mom..."

Tears inevitably flowed out of his eyes as he tightened his grip on her palm.

"I'll find a way to heal you... I promise..."
