They began walking silently in the empty night streets. Samara felt warm and safe around him and she was strangely okay with the fact that her boyfriend broke up with her. The night was normal like the other nights but there was something different in the air today.
Their hands brushed against each others occasionally making them feel electrocuted with every touch. Ben clenched his fist nervously as if trying to make a serious decision of his life. The next second he let out a long breath, made up his mind and stretched out his arms to hold her hands.
Samara was shocked beyond wits and lowered her head to look at their now intertwined fingers. She turned and raised her head to look at him. Ben held her hands tightly and continued walking forward like he hadn't noticed her gaze.
Even though she felt awkward she didn't want this to end at all. She wished they could keep walking like this for all her life. She was deep in her thoughts she didn't notice his hands that were holding hers were trembling.
Ben was trying really hard to control his emotions. He felt his heart would jump out his chest at any moment. When he couldn't control his heart rate, he involuntarily squeezed her hand. Samara hissed in pain and turned to look at his face.
His face was covered in sweat and he was not breathing but gasping for breath. Samara felt the urge to laugh out loud looking at this state of his but she shook her head to clear that thought.
She cleared her throat and tried to make a conversation.
"Where are we going?"
"You'll know."
"I have work tomorrow, I hate being late."
Ben raised an eyebrow and said, "Woman, you just got broke up"
Hearing him say it out loud made her heart wrenching in pain. She lowered her head and went into silent mode.
Ben noticed this reaction of hers and tightened his grip. "Don't bother going to work, we're going out tomorrow."
Samara looked up with glittering eyes that shouted 'Hayyyyyy'
She didn't feel scared or the need to be careful with him like she felt with the other guys including her ex.
