Chapter 14 - Goodbye Aseid

"Seriously? How old are you actually?"

"17."

"Why do all girls in Esperia look so young?!", Sun murmured.

"You should get everything set now. The trip will exhaust you. Trust me, I have experience ...", Rose said.

"Thank you for your concern. It's just one thing that I need to say goodbye to Will and Lady Minerva."

"What are you talking about, Will is working in the capital. He comes here in summer to train the younger generation. Did not he talk to you about this?"

"Nope. I had no idea. But that sounds great. I'll be able to see you guys there as well.

By the way, what are you doing here in summer?", Sun was wondering since students usually kept training in their school over summer.

"I'm here to help out my sister."

"Your sister? Who's your sister."

"Minvera."

"..."

"Why did you not tell me about it?", Sun found Rose a bit mysterious since the beginning. Now it's clear.

"Did I have to do so?"

"..."

"Anyways, I'm going to check on Will."

Sun was ready to leave. However, he was held by Rose.

"Wait a second. William is currently reporting to my sister. I plan to visit her and bring her my results on the fragment testing, but I still need to evaluate other experiments. Since you're heading there, could you please take the results to Minerva?"

"Sure."

"Here you are. Be careful, the minerals shatter easily. Handel them with care."

Sun walked along the usual way to Minerva's office. Even though he was here for only two weeks, it felt more nostralgic than any of his childhood memories.

Both sides of the left and the right were those paintings again. The architecture as special as ever ...

He arrived in front of the office door.

As he touched to the doorknob, a stream of his first time visiting this place flashed through his brain.

"Come in.", a cold woman voice sounded.

It felt like the first time. Sun could not determine the mood of the person behind the voice.

It was emotionless, yet refreshing... It was indescribable.

Sun carefully opened the door, not wanting to let the precious research material fall down.

"Minerva, I've come here to report, that I entered the Esperia Magic School. My rating was fairly great. It was all thanks to your guidance!", Sun said with a serious face.

He searched the room and found Will sitting on a chair in the left. They briefly exchanged greetings by simple nodding.

"Great. I've been expecting this result since you're my student.

How's it going with your Class cultivation?"

"Beginner 2, striking Beginner 3"

"Great."

"Uhm, by the way. Rose asked me to bring you the results of her research."

Sun walked towards her desk and laid the minerals along with their description down.

"Thank you. I hope that Rose didn't cause you too much trouble with that task."

"No, it's okay. I'm glad I could help her a bit."

"Oh? You two seem pretty close.", Minerva raised her eyebrow.

"Oh no! That's not it. We just ... clicked. Uh..m, I mean as friends.", Sun felt hot inside.

He cringed inside for what he just said.

"Well, I hope you can take care of her since you both are at the same school."

"Of course."

"Do you have anything else to say?", Minerva asked Sun.

"No, not really."

"Then you and Will can go now."

"Good. Thank you for taking care of me. Even though it was a short period, I still appreciate that greatly.", Sun was sincerely thankful for her act as a teacher. It really helped him to improve further.

"That's not a big deal. You're a Spring gang member, we are all family.", Minerva said and smiled.

"We have a great intelligence network, especially in Esperia City, the central.

Our base is here, but I have placed highly dependable members there, so if you ask for help, you can always consult to them. Your blood is your ID.", she added after a quick thought.

"I'm keeping that in mind. I'm off now."

William walked towards Sun after he said that.

Both of them said their goodbyes and walked out of the office.

After the door closed down, the smile on Minerva's face turned serious.

She took out a communication orb and sent out a voice message.

"I've done the first part of the prophecy. Now it's your turn. We only have this last chance. Don't mess it up."

On the other side, a man in his mid-twenties received Minerva's message.

He had snow-white hair and azure-blue eyes. This combination looked quite dashing.

"Chill. I got that. ", the mysterious guy cut off the communication and took out the application of Sun for Esperia Magic School.

"Sun Reed. This year will be interesting."

The next day, Sun packed up his belongings and got ready for the trip. In fact, one could not call it a 'trip'. Ethers use all kinds of magic, there is also teleportation magic.

This way of opening small dimensions and breaking through space and time is very complicated, so teleportation gates are only found in the central, the big cities and economic beneficial cities.

Aseid was one of the big cities.

The teleportation gate could only be used after getting approval from the government per request.

The students teleporting to their school was allowed, but only the first time - when they enter the school as a freshman.

The teleportation gate consists of many teleportation stones, that are directed to different cities.

...

After packing and saying goodbye to his mother, he left for the teleportation gate.

On the way, he thought that his mother is now completely alone. Nobody is there to help her. She has a few friends, but they live in other cities.

Sun worried about his mother, so he decided to come back during the next holidays.

...

Sun never really went into the teleportation gate, it was prohibited for normal citizens because of the potential danger of causing a dimensional breakdown -- shortly said -- it could summon monsters if used wrong. Before entering the building, he needed to show the guard his papers as proof.

The gate was not that magnificent as he thought. Just a simple building which contains different teleportation stones.

After looking at the map on the first floor, he spotted the area of Esperia. "Floor 3 Area A4."

Not wanting to waste any time, he rushed towards the stairs and went up.

...

"There you are Sun!", a high pitched voice echoed through the place.
