The room suddenly felt too cold to stay in. All me and Kyo were able to listen was Priscilla gulping down her fourth beer. Kyo was holding my hands firmly.
Was she stopping me from dashing out of the room or she was about to cry, and she needed me by her side?
Was I patronizing myself after the whole recap of self evaluation?
I almost felt sorry for myself.
"I-I'm sorry Kyo. I should have told you earlier."
Priscilla flung her semi-filled can of alcohol in my direction. It passed me and hit the door behind us. We jolted where we sat. I looked at Kyo, who turned her weeping face slowly towards me.
"Kyo- "
"Bitch, I deserve an apology before your Miss Chink over there." Priscilla exclaimed.
I turned to Priscilla and she was opening another can of beer. " Priscilla, apologize."
Priscilla jumped on her feet, crushed the can she held in her hand and said," What did you just say to me?"
I let go off Kyo's hands and stood up too. I decreased the distance between my face and her and repeated," I said apologize to Kyo right now."
Priscilla smiled in my face.
"Make Me!"
I smiled back.
"Is this how I raised you?"
Suddenly I felt one hand on my shoulder. Moments later the force exerted by the hand turned me around and I was greeted to a crying Kyo. Before I could realize what was happening, Kyo slapped me across the face.
The strike rang across the room. Everything was silent once again.
"Madonna, have some shame. Is this how you plan to counter attack all your problems? Either running away in the face of the problem? Or being in the wrong and still attacking the whole world?"
I turned my head slightly to look in the direction of Kyo. I could see her eyes were red. But if it was wrath or melancholy, I could not deduce that. It was a new face. The unpleasant one. I rather would prefer a bottle strike on my head than standing here in the room.
I lowered the gaze and slowly said, " But she called you Chink-"
"Shut up Madonna. A human must channel their anger somehow. And when you are the source of said anger, take the hit like another human. Have you lost your humanity as well as sanity- "
Kyo stopped speaking. She looked at my face once again. She shot a faint look at Priscilla. She walked towards the door and said 'Goodnight' to both of us.
I broke down as I slumped on the couch. The tears ran over my face, but I was not sad.
I was nothing.
Why was I crying?
Priscilla was still sitting across me. She was giggling under her breath, and that was making me hot in the head.
"Well, atleast there was one human in the room tonight."
I looked at Priscilla as she finished the sentence. She smirked at my face and reached over to her pile of beer cans she got from Cline and threw one can towards me. I didn't raise my arms to catch it and it struck me in the waist and landed near my feet.
Priscilla looked at the time on her cellphone. "I still have seven minutes to go on stage. Pick up the beer Mad. Drink with me."
"P.A., I'm really not in the mood right now."
"Don't you want to know if I decided to forgive you or not?"
I picked up the can, opened it and threw it all in one gulp. I held the empty can in my hand and wiped all my tears away. I sat straight on the couch to face Priscilla.
"So- "
"No."
"I'm sorry?"
"No, I don't forgive you Miss Madonna. You don't get a forgiveness out of me today."
Suddenly, the dream of my child with Kyo seemed too far.
"Bu-But Priscilla, you wanted me to tell everything to my wife. I did. Please, don't do this to us."
"You have guts, Mad. I didn't say I wanted you to stay. But I didn't need to say, did I? You on the other hand, are fearless in begging for forgiveness from me."
"Priscilla, please, don't do this to us. To her. She has struck with me in a very difficult time. I just want one chance to repay her. I need my peace of mind back. But with my conscience and my past, I can't seem to do right by the one I love."
"Cruel too. You are facing your past love. What do you think I feel like? And don't you drag your girl in the conversation. Its us we are talking about. Mad, just to prove you of my talent, I retired from my music career for four years and rebounded stronger than ever. You know how long the period of 1400 days is for an artist."
"We are not diverting the conversation towards that direction again, P.A."
"Still barking rules. When will you realize that you messed up? You did wrong to me. And you may never come back to normal."
"What more do you want from me?"
"Right now, I'd prefer you left me alone. The show would be wrapping up soon. Twenty minutes tops. After that, we're all going to dinner in the hotel. Meet me on the beach after the show. Two hours from now."
Saying that, Priscilla stood up once more and headed towards the door.
"Wait, which beach?"
"The biggest one." Priscilla replied as she exited the room.
The room was covered in silence once again. I covered my face with my hands.
My head was aching.
My heart was clashing.
This world was shrinking one moment at the time.
My cellphone vibrated in my pocket. I took it out and looked at the notification. It was a text from Kyo.
"DO US A FAVOUR AND SLEEP OVER AT MAPALLA AND TRIGMANS PLACE."
As I said, the world was shrinking one moment at a time.
Everything was coming out one element at a time. I wanted my own mayday button. But I was so deep in it already, that I wanted to see everything to the end.
I pocketed my phone and rushed outside of the room. I caught up to Priscilla as she was walking towards the stage.
"What do you want now?" Priscilla asked in a tired tone.
"What is your second condition? One was that I reveal everything to Kyo. What is the second one?"
"The Beach. Tonight." Saying that, Priscilla left for the stage.
I took my phone out and called Trigman. He picked up the phone, but I couldn't hear any music in the background.
"Where are you guys?" I asked.
"Oh, I thought It'd take you ladies a while, so we went home." He replied.
" Whatever make some space for me on the bed. I'm staying the night with you guys."
Trigman replied exasperatingly, "Are you going to knock the door while we're having sex?"
"No, it'll be a while before I show up."
Trigman left out another breath before saying, "Alright, I'll leave a shirt and a pair of shorts on the table."
Getting an approval out of Trigman, I marched out of the concert.
