Walking to this hallway feels like lm the one who is being confined here. I never really want to work here neither dreamed of this. It's just because there is someone told me to take this profession cause it would help me in the future. And I can't say no since she is the one who sponsored my school expenses when I am still a student.
Well I graduated and passed the boards. And Tada! Here I am working in a hospital settings. But I started to love what I am doing and synchronize to this world.
"Just love what you do and it will become a part of you."
Now we're in front of the nurse station.
"Hello! Good evening *smile*"-Mia while greeting the nurses. But they all look so busy.
***Ringgg!!! Ringgg!!! Ring!! "Hello. Thank you for calling nurse station. this Faye speaking. How may I help you?"- Nurse Faye while she's checking a chart of another patient.
"You can stop the IV of this patient. And his all cleared to me so he can go home tomorrow. I already written all his medicine in his chart just check them all and tell the patient. His not allowed doing this and that and I already told him to lessen heavy activities. Just check the charts for all my order. That's for all" the doctor said to another nurse and leaved. "Yes Doc, thank you" the nurse said.
"Ma'am where is the nebulizer accessories of this patient?"- asked the respi to other nurse " oh check them in her room. I know I already put them there."
"Thank you" and she head on the patients room.
But why they are no paying attention to us?
Some nurses preparing some med, the midwife's are busy too. There is some nurses walking to the patients' room or I may say like running to a patient's room.
So I get close to an orderly near us.
"uhmm excuse me" I talked and asked what we needed. "We are from the laboratory. It's for blood extraction in room 10**" I told to the orderly.
"Hey from the laboratory and it is for Blood extraction!" the elderly shout because they are too busy to pay attention to us. "Room 10**!" he added.
And the nurse writing in a chart look at us. "Oh the suite room" *with a smile "Just go there they've an S P there." (SP means status post where there is an assigned nurse where she/he monitor the patients status and directly telling to its attending physician and it is exclusive for that patient only). "I wish I'm the SP there" *then she laughed. Well she has a really good mood.
'Coz some of the nurses here is frowning like they'll bite you anytime when they are disturbed.
"Oh. Thank you" and Mia gave her a bright smile. We head on to the patients room. Ohh suite room huh. They must be a super-rich patient. Hmmm I'd been in a suite room sometimes.
But not as the one whom staying there. I don't want to be confined in a hospital right? I hate hospitals. Who else would like to be here?. But the universe is too harsh on me. Look where I am now confined in a job where the setting is hospital. Don't get me wrong. I didn't hate my job, only the hospitals.
And of course I came in a suite room as for my job to get blood ONLY.
As of now I rarely go to floors, except for an endorsement like this. Almost junior medtech do this stuff. Because once you became a senior your too busy in a section plus paper works, quality control and all. so that is why we do have a Phlebotomist like Mia.
Entering this patient room feels like you are not in the hospital. It feels just like you're in a hotel. Before we reach our patient we'll be passing by the other area of this room. Their comfort room from the left that looks really elegant, and the first you will see upon entering this room is their living room, a nice leather sofa and a mini table at the center, from here you can see a chandelier, their mini kitchen from the right and it is full of kitchen utensils except of an stove, but I can see a microwave, their electric kettle, a toaster, coffee maker and others. And they all look too expensive. Of course their room too.
Upon approaching the patient I could see there is someone standing beside him? Where is the SP duty here? She is the only person here, beside from the patient in this room.
Well I still I couldn't see his face. But I can say that this patient is a regular in gym. Hmmm don't judge me okay because the patient is wearing a hospital pajamas that is too fitted to him.
Did they give them the wrong size? Hmm perhaps.
And when the lady beside him notice us, as she turned around and said "Oh hello"*then smiled.
Well, first we were struck. Because, we literally stopped and frozen in front of her. I look at Mia and she's obviously amazed by the beauty standing in front of her. "Who is this model?" "Possibly his girlfriend" I think.
Before we could lose a face I abruptly pinch the side arm of Mia and give her a message in a whisper matter "Stop drooling girl. We are working. Let's go."
Well she froze at first and wipe her side lips then she glared at me "You a liar. Hmp" *in a low voice. I just smiled at her then precede in front the lady still smiling at us. But there is something strange with her smile. Okay let that aside maybe she's too emotional right now because his partner is here confined in a hospital.
"Good evening Ma'am. We're from the laboratory. We're here to draw some blood to Sir Kayden Max Parker?"- As we confirmed the patient name.
"*smiled* Go on" as the lady said. There is really something to this lady I can't just say what it is. Well it's giving me some curiosity. So I proceed to the patient side and put down our tackle box. "Mia lets go."
So Mia did follow me. But she automatically goes near to the patient so I just let her be. Well since she's too persistent to go in this patient room. While I am preparing the things were about to use, from my right side of my eye I saw the lady left the room.

After we withdraw some blood we left the room. and before we left, I heard Mia whisper "Bye my love see you when I see you again ^.~" the f** did she really wink.
Gosh Mia what are you doing? As if he could see you.
So I did glance in the patient but only a glimpse so literally can't see the patients' face. All I could see is that there is a lot of connected machine to him. Like a respirator, his IV pump and etc..
And I am still pre-occupied by the lady who left earlier.
"Let's go Mia stop with the flirt. He couldn't even response to you okay." while shaking my head to Mia.
Before we left the room some guy with formal attire entered. He was surprised as we is. And when he realized that we were medical personnel here, he just bowed to us and proceeds to the patients side.
And he did give me a creepy vibes even though she looks handsome and neat I felt like he'd pull out his gun and shoot us vibe.
So I and Mia hurriedly left the room.
