The putrid smell of rotting flesh and blood assaulted Tomoko the instant she took a breath. Taken by surprise, Tomoko tried to hold her breath, which further accentuated the smell.
"Tomoko!! Get up! Zombies!" Screams echoed in her ears.
That was the last hint, Tomoko finally figured out where she was sent for her first mission.
…
Tomoko shot upright into position and looked around.
There was someone with her.
A fragile looking girl.
"Where are the zombies?" Tomoko slowly asked the girl.
"Y-you're sentient?" The girl whispered in disbelief, her eyes widening as she took several steps back.
"Hell yea I'm sentient, where are the damn zombies?" Tomoko rolled her eyes, her temper quickly getting her once again.
"Y-you…" The girl's disbelief had switched to horror.
"Y-you what? Haven't seen a person talk before?"
"Kgh!" Tomoko's head felt like it was being split open. Unknown memories flooded her mind as the pain intensified.
'...oh.' Tomoko calmed down once the pain was reduced to a dull thro, 'This must be the memories of the previous body.'
As if Tomko was reading a biography, read the memories of the previous owner freely. "Clear my name and rip off Wulong's mask." Bolded words stood out among the other memories.
'Hmm, let's see. Was a rich young miss, classic. Fell in love with Wulong, first mistake there. Supported him and offered power, second mistake. Zombie apocalypse, knew that. Wulong fell in love with another, haha. Bullied his love, lol. Was pushed into a crowd of zombies by Wulong, stu-pid. Dead, lolol...wait. Dead. Dead!?'
Tomoko thrashed around in horror, 'Dead!!'
The frail looking girl had already been scared to leaving at this point, she wailed loudly as she cried for help.
Meanwhile, Tomoko was still struggling with her identity disorder.
"That means I'm a zooooombiiiiiieeee!!!!" Her wailed echoed throughout the laboratory, sending shivers down the spines of professors and guards alike.
Tomoko looked down at herself.
Her arms and legs were chained to the bed she's on. Judging from the length of te chains, Tomoko had a feeling that she could easily reach the door of the room she was in. 'Isn't this just a bit unsafe?'
She stared at her arms, feeling imaginary tears drip down her cheeks. Tomoko's arms weren't beautiful jade twigs as described in the transmigration novels she's read so far, instead they were two twigs covered in rotting flesh.
Tomoko reached up to touch her face, a scream containing even more horror than the last echoed through the laboratory.
"Hey hey, system, what happened to this being easy? HOW THE HECK IS THIS EASY!!??"
System 13s robotic voice replied in Tomoko's head, "It IS easy. You have to think too much, just get stronger and wreak the city."
"You suck."
"So do you.' And with that, System 13 exited the chat.
"...What now," Tomoko laid back on the bed, mind full of plans.
…
"There's a zombie! And it's a sentient!" A frail looking girl bursts through the door screaming like a lunatic.
"Lead me to it!"
The frail girl lead a team scientists at the laboratory to Tomoko.
But when they got there, the sight that greeted them as an unmoving body.
"What's this? It's just a body! It's not even undead, what's it doing here?" The leader of the team showed his dissatisfaction.
One of the scientists called out to the nearby guards, "Dispose of it, it's useless."
"Yessir!" The guards quickly unchained the unaware Tomoko and packed her into a body bag.
The guards carried her outside the laboratory to a ditch nearly filled with bodies.
Roughy tossing her in, one of the guards struck a matchstick and tossed it into the ditch.
The guards left as a flame erupted from the match.
…
"Hey 13," Tomoko was currently having a conversation with her system who she had dubbed "13".
"Host, please get out there and do your job," 13 replied flatly.
"But…" Tomoko was expectant. Since she's a transmigrator, wasn't she supposed to receive some kind of op cheat? How come all she got was a rotting body and a manual book?
"Host, your body is burning. Please take better care of it," 13 interrupted Tomoko's train of thoughts.
"Burning?"
"Burning. Disgracefully. In a ditch of bodies."
Tomoko felt an invisible slap, it was as if she was being mocked by destiny. First she died in a traffic accident, get stuck with this darn system, transmigrated into a zombie's body, and now she's burning??
"Does that mean I've failed?" Tomoko looked at the little astronaut robot with eyes filled with hope.
"We're making an exception since this is your first world. Normally you would be immediately sent to a punishment world, but we'll give you another chance. Don't let this happen again, it will stain your record," 13 sent Tomoko off with an explanation to satisfy for curiosity.
'Punishment world?' Tomoko shuddered, 'If an easy world is already this hellish, I'd hate to see a punishment world.'
"By the way, since you seem to be slightly lacking in the brain department, I've made up for it with some beauty points and a superpower."
Tomoko's eyes lit up, superpowers? Be
…
"???"
The moment Tomoko regained her conscious in the real world, she felt a blast of heat cover her body.
She was jump scared as she opened her eyes, "@@)*#(!*)*!"
A half burnt face stared back at her among the flames.
"Haaa…" Tomoko was beyond tired of this world already, she swore to herself that she'd leave this place the instant she completed her mission.
Tomoko stared at her arms, instead of burnt flesh on bones, she found herself staring at a pair of beautiful glowing arms.
"This...this is it. THIS is the classic transmigration beauty I was looking for!" Tomoko waved her arms around as she felt her dreams being fulfilled.
13: ...wtf
Laughing like a maniac, Tomoko climbed out of the ditch. She couldn't wait to see all the cheats she has received from 13.
It's time to wreak havoc on Wulong's life.
