Isamu handed Kaede back the sheet of paper. He took the paper and headed for the door. Kaede looked back to face Masashi.
"I'll be back shortly, you might want to fill Kaneko in on what we do." And with that Kaede seemed to vanish.
Kazuki stood up from the chair he was sitting on, "Well, I'm going home." Kazuki then walked over to Isamu, grabbed her hand and dragged her out the door.
"Hey!" She yelled, "Isamu struggled to break free. "What do you think you're doing?!" She struggled to get out of his hold. "I said," Isamu drew her elbow back. "Let go!" She used her leverage and drove her elbow into Kazuki's ribs. Her strike got Kazuki to let go but it had sent him halfway down the hallway near the stairs.
Kazuki gasped for air and rolled over onto his stomach. Isamu rushed over to Kazuki's weeping body lay.
"Oh no." Isamu helped Kazuki sit up against the wall. He took a few minutes before he regained his breathing. And another 5 before he could start walking.
"I'm really sorry Kazuki," She gushed once they started down the stairs, "I told you to stop and you didn't so I didn't know what to do."
Kazuki and Isamu walked in silence. Isamu felt really awkward especially since Kazuki hadn't said anything to her, which only made her worry more. But, she was also comfortable with having him near her. She didn't know whether to feel nervous or enlightened.
They took off their shoes, Isamu glanced over at Kazuki. He had already put on his shoes and was standing in the sunlight which made him look even more handsome. The odd part was that Kazuki was staring at Isamu. She felt her heartbeat start to speed up and her face heat up like it did during a hot summer day. Isamu bolted her eyes back down and slipped on her shoes.
She rushed out the door only to find Kazuki following her. Isamu picked up the pace to a jog. Kazuki did the same, making sure each step was in line with hers. Isamu drew in a breath before taking off in a full blown run.
Isamu kept running. She felt the wind stinging her ears and nose, she didn't stop. Isamu could feel the eyes of the other kids and other people staring at her as she outran a car.
She didn't stop running until she was safely in the protective walls of her house.
The next was had clear skies and bright sun, but Isamu had one problem.
"So what's your first class after homeroom?" Kazuki popped up in front of her again. He had been following Isamu since she left her house.
Kazuki jumped in front of her again, "What do you have for lunch." Isamu didn't look at him and walked around him.
"What do you think of the History Club?"
Isamu blew out a breath of frustration, covered her ears and ran. She didn't want to hear another word out of Kazuki.
Isamu target was her classroom. She put on her shoes as fast as she took them off. She then raced up the stairs and down the hallway.
She was 10 feet away from the door,
5 feet.....
3 feet.....
2 feet.....
"BAM!"
Isamu had run straight into Kazuki. Apparently, someone had told Kazuki that Isamu was running toward her classroom.
Kazuki was trying to stop her from hurting anyone else but instead, he flew right into Masashi.
After hitting Kazuki, Isamu screeched to a stop. Both Masashi and Kazuki were coughing and trying to regain their breath. A few other students huddled around and tried to help.
As Isamu stepped closer to Kazuki she could see that the blast had hurt him. She pulled him up and dragged him to the infirmary without a word.
"Where does it hurt?" Isamu demanded once she shut the door.
Kazuki gave her a confused look. "What are you-" Isamu cut him off.
"I know I hurt you!" Her outburst seemed to startled Kazuki. His expression changed into a heartwarming smile.
"Left side, ribs." Isamu looked up to find Kazuki spinning in the nurse's office chair with the top half of his uniform off.
Isamu felt a blush creep up her neck but she forced it down as she walked closer. She knelt down beside Kazuki and opens the small first-aid kit she had taken off the shelf a few moments earlier.
She examined the bruises before removing a bandage wrap from the first-aid kit. As she wrapped up Kazuki's abdomen he seized up in pain.
Isamu tied a tight knot to keep the bandage in place the packed up the rest of the medical supplies. She walked back over to the shelf and put the medical kit away.
Isamu walked over to the door and opened it."Next time." Isamu looked over her shoulder to get a look at Kazuki, "Don't wait to tell someone you're hurt and don't try to stop me." And with those final words, she slammed the door.
Isamu walked halfway down the hall before sliding down the wall. She wanted to scream. Isamu wanted Kazuki to stop. To stop "helping".
She brushed off her uniform before storming back to class. Isamu sat down at her desk and took out her sketchbook, trying to ignore all the whispering and murmuring her classmates were doing.
"Ding, Dong, Ding, Dong."
The bell had rung and Isamu was sketching different types of hairstyles to use for her character. She was busy trying to get this one hairstyle to flow the right way and didn't acknowlage Kazuki sit down or the teacher come in.
"Settle down everyone!" Isamu's hands closed her sketchbook and put it in her desk at the speed of light.
"We have a new student so everyone be nice." Barked her teacher as she motioned her hand toward the door.
Some of the students looks frightened and puzzled while others just look terrified.
A tall boy walked in. His chocolately brown hair sweeping over one eye and his shirt untucked. Isamu knew just from looking at him that he would be a handful.
